Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Spot sorry for the delay here's the thread where Driscal talks up Burningstar)
Burningstar sighed, she was sitting at the border, where Kerrigan had been killed. The earthquake had cost her many of her cats... and the losses weighed heavily upon her heart. She grieved the losses of so many good cats. And she grieved the loss of Kerrigan and her brother Lindon as well. Lindon whom Burningstar had been so sure she loved. And that he loved her in turn.
Now with him gone... it felt like a hole had been left in her heart, an empty space where Lindon was supposed to be.
And so she'd come here, as the sun began to rise, sitting and just, looking out at the rocks where Kerrigan had been left to bleed out by Tasman. And Burningstar knew it was the current Tsar. She'd get her one day. One day she'd regret what she'd done.
Driscal, a large dark brown tabby tom with blazing fiery eyes, draped himself lazily over a tree branch not far from the Nightclan leader. He had been watching her for a few moments before he finally spoke, "Awe...why the long face, princess?"
Burningstar tried not to jump, lifting her head to seek out the voice that had called out to her, eyes finding Driscal up in the trees. She opened her mouth to scent the air, his scent was uncertain. She couldn't entirely ascertain whether he was just an overly friendly rogue or from another group.
She sighed. "An earthquake struck the land," Burningstar admitted. "NightClan survived but we did suffer some losses... and the forest has become treacherous." She added, stepping over one such crack in the ground as she walked to sit at the base of the tree he was on. "Trees fell. Rocks were moved, big enough to crush cats..." Thistlebriar had suffered such a fate. "I do not know how far out from our territory was affected so I recommend you tread carefully as you travel around stranger."
Driscal was surprised that the Nightclan cat had given him information so quickly. She had just told him that Nightclan was weak. If he went back to the league, he could come back with forces and run Nightclan out. However, even though Driscal was somewhat fox-hearted, he had some decency. Enough not to kick a clan when they were down and already suffering. "Hm. Well, that does sound pretty rough." He jumped off the branch he was laying on and sat beside Burningstar. "Your Burningstar, right? The leader of Nightclan?"
Burningstar wasn't sure whether Driscal was a rogue or a member of a group. Either or it didn't matter to her, she didn't want to risk any other cats chancing their luck with the current state of NightClan's territory. She felt they needed a fair warning.
But at his question she nodded. "Yes I am Burningstar, and you are?" She asked
"Names Driscal. I'm from Primal Instinct" he introduced himself. "But!" He raised his paw. "Before you run away or tell me to 'get lost', I'm not here for any trouble. Though, it is quite the pleasure to meet the famous Burningstar" He dipped his head, respectfully. "Your quite a sight. So...majestic, elegant, powerful." He purred, inhaling a breath and then releasing it in a sigh. "Mm. What a treat for the eye."
