Castawaykit, the bastard child of Riverwolf and Foxstar, and in particular named for the father who had properly failed at securing a clan for himself. Of course, the tom sort of had an... um, rocky upbringing already. Six siblings, an insane parent, and a god-complex dad. The young floofball barely had been long enough to open his eyes, let alone figure out what all the rumors and whispers of his mother's rank and sanity had much to do with it all. He was sort of shielded and oblivious, too young to properly be able to process what it was all about.
So, for the moment, the young tom waddled his way across camp, just barely learning to walk with his short baby legs. He was encompassed in fluff, too tiny eyes and a wiggly tail erupting from a ball of soft, bouncy fur. If one didn't know better, they might not even realize there was a little kitten in the downy mess.
Skipstep set down his catch in the fresh kill pile nosing through looking for something plump to take Littlebird, before selecting a juicy looking mouse. He bent down and picked it up and began carrying it back. He paused when he saw the fluffy mess moving about. He cocked his head squinting at it. Was that a kit or a moving fluff ball? He moved closer and realized it was one of Foxstar's kits. "Oh! Hello!" He greeted setting down the prey. "What are you up to?" He asked.

The mass of fur turned, head tilting back to look up at the older cat. In reality, his eyes only just became a tiny bit more visible, kitten blues to match the color of his fur, staring up at Skipstep blankly. "Who're you?" The fluffy mass questioned, vibrating slightly as it spoke. Fur or kitten indeed. He felt like he recognized the voice, but having only just opened his eyes, this cat was entirely new to him. He smelled weird though, not like his mom, or like the rest of the clan either. Well, similar, but off.
"I'm Skipstep, one of the janus, and Littlebird's mate." Skipstep told the little kit. He studied the fluff ball. "You must be one of Foxstar's kits right? Just opened your eyes?"

"Yeah, Foxstar and Riverwolf's son." He was also much too young to really understand what that meant. What those two cats were like, or that their pasts were less than ideal. Of course, he didn't much care. At the moment, he sort of just wanted to explore and figure out what the heck rocks were. Everyone talked about them all over, but no one had yet pointed out what exactly a rock was. Weird.
Skipstep nodded slowly. Right. The little guy was so little he probably had very little idea about well, anything at the moment. "So what are you going to do?" He asked, looking around, he knew Foxstar was still... off. But was someone at least watching out for the little one? He didn't know about Foxstar given her mental state, but was Riverwolf around?

"Learn about rocks... What are rocks?" He tilted his head quizzically, glancing around and rubbing a head with a fluffy paw that seemed to erupt from the talking powder puff. True, he should have been watched. But Foxstar had gone who knew where already, and Riverwolf, well, most knew that the tom had a god-complex and probably saw himself above caring for his own kits.
"Oh you wanna know what a rock is?" Skipstep asked. He could help out the little guy, especially since his parents weren't around. "I'm just going to take this mouse to Littlebird and then I can show you what a rock is." He assured the little tom cat.
He picked up the mouse and carried it over to set it aside for Littlebird by her nest then he trotted back out to Castawaykit, snagging a small stone as he went. "Here." He set it down before the little tom kit. "This is a rock." He said, nudging it towards Castawaykit.
Castawaykit peered at the rock curiously, then looked rather disappointed. Okay, now he understood the name, but he'd been hoping that a rock was something interesting and special. It was just this little clump? Lame. He pawed at it lazily, accidentally hitting it too hard and watching it skitter away. Maybe not so boring after all. He mused briefly as he raced after it, pouncing on it without an ounce of grace, and falling over it in a fluffy heap. "Teach me more!" He demanded, head turning to look at Skipstep with a rather serious expression that was hard to see through all the fur.
Skipstep cocked his head surprised that this excited fluff ball actually came from Foxstar... But better he teach the little guy something than his currently insane mother. Smiling he nodded. "Sure, what would you like to learn about next?" He asked.
