Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The cold air stung Adelaine's nose. She sneezed, tiny snowflakes flying off her whiskers like sparks off a flame. "I wish leaf-bare wouldn't come so early," she sighed to no one in particular.
"Me neither," came a dry voice from behind Adelaine. Lucas padded up to the she-cat from a short distance away, letting out a short puff of breath and watching the small cloud form in front of his muzzle. "The season of sickness and starvation. And also snow."
"I like the snow...sometimes. I like it when I'm cozy in my nest watching it outside. I do not like it at any other time, ever," she complained. "I feel like life would be a whole lot easier if leaf-bare just weren't in it."
"Hmm..." Lucas murmured, turning his head away. "If leafbare didn't come, then the spring wouldn't feel nearly as sweet. Would it?" he asked, staring vacantly at the ground. "...Then again, WinterClan pronably wouldn't exist if leafbare wasn't a thing, so I guess you have a point."
"I suppose the empty void of leaf-bare is what makes the blooming flowers in spring so delightful," Adelaine mused. "But oh, a world in which WinterClan doesn't exist would be a great gift to us all."
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder," Lucas quoted, in the tone of someone who didn't quite believe what he was saying. "And while we're at it, we can try and dispose of BrookClan, NightClan, and SunClan as well," he murmured, namedropping the three Clans that had invaded SpringClan recently.
Lucas nodded, giving a soft grunt of agreement as he shifted his attention to the air around them. Adelaine was right; leaf-bare had snuck up on them this year, leaving Lucas little time to adjust to his new life in SpringClan before their supply of prey started getting tight. "This hardship will only make us stronger," he murmured. "Perhaps in the future, WinterClan will be the ones cursing us. That would be fun, wouldn't it?"
Adelaine gave a wry smirk, one half of her mouth twisting upward. "Oh, I certainly hope so. Once the snow melts, we'll have the upper paw, and we will smite them." She shivered as a breeze blew by, carrying cold northern air that made her fur fluff up.
