Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Coralreef had been stuck in camp ever since her injury, and she’d been going stir crazy. She pounced on every rumor and opportunity until it was driving the cats around her mad; now she had planned a party and she was determined to ensure every cat enjoyed it, even her father. She hadn’t told Chimerastar about it, of course, just sneaked a poppy seed into his meal to keep him sedated until she was ready. After hearing he might have a new friend she’d invited the SummerClan leader to visit and hoped he would come. Maybe having his friend around would stop Chim from being so mopey. She invited the rest of the clan, too, and the charcoal loner that has saved her after she was hurt.
The blue she-cat scurried about positioning flower, stuck in puddles of marsh to keep them from drifting away, though the smell wasn’t so pleasant. She had been stealing prey from the pile to save and had a great wealth of it spread around the camp now. She had even collected small stones and feathers for the young cats to play with. The warrior had done her best to convince their healers to part with their catmint, too, but that hadn’t worked.
“I hope everyone shows up soon,” she murmured to herself as she looked eagerly around the cave. The patrols should be returning soon!
(tl;dr waterclan is having a party and you’re required to show up okay we don’t know how much time we have left)
Flintrock, the charcoal tom that had saved Coralreef, padded into the camp, a fish dangling from his paws. He set it down at the paws of Coralreef and offered her a warm smile. The day he saved Coralreef from her fall, he had asked Chimerastar to allow him to stay and the Waterclan leader had reluctantly agreed. After days of being with Waterclan, the tom had earned his warrior name and he was still getting used to it. "Coralreef" he greeted, warmly. "You look well. How are you feeling?"
Doestar trot-limped into the WaterClan camp, loping awkwardly around the squirrel's tail dragging between his front legs. He'd been a little flustered at receiving the invitation from Chim's daughter, and he wondered how much she actually suspected about his friendship with her father, but he supposed he had to get to know his Clan and family sooner or later. Well, no, actually, he was incredibly excited at the prospect — or, would be, if he weren't so nervous about making a good impression and being likable and cute and sweet.
His fur was perfect, and there was a daisy tucked into the fur in front of his left ear — which, really, was a little inside joke that only he found funny, because a flower worn on the right by a garden keeper meant they had a mate and it made him all fuzzy and giddy to tell the world that Chimerastar was his mate... even if Chim hadn't agreed to that fact, and the meaning of it went completely over the world's head. Minor details. Who needed 'em?
He dropped the squirrel on the fresh-kill pile full of fish, gave Coralreef a friendly smile and a look like did you seriously drug your father just so you could throw a party? That’s amazi—I mean adorab—I mean very bad and awful. I would die for you, and padded cheerfully over to Chim. “Wakey, wakey, sleepy head,” he purred, prodding the other leader with his good forepaw. “Your daughter’s thrown a party and I’m on make sure you have a good time and don’t get mad at her duty. Aren’t you proud?”
Coralreef waited for the cats to arrive, her tail twitching in excitement. As she saw Flintrock she broke into a wide, beaming grin, and limped forward a few steps to meet him. She had broken her hind leg and a rib, but with his help she had made it to camp and to safety. “You’re just in time for my party! We’re going to have an awesome time!” she cheered, missing his question entirely in her joy. “Hi!” she added briefly to the SummerClan leader as he passed, unfazed that she had potentially invited the enemy to snoop around. He seemed friendly enough for her!
Chim shifted uneasily as the poppy seed wore off and he started to awaken, regretful as the warmth of sleep receded and the first good rest he had in moons came to an end. He wasn’t sure what had caused him to sleep so deeply and dreamlessly, he had just been so suddenly tired, like the weight of the world had caught up to him. He rolled over as words vaguely pulled him to reality and tipped his head back, yawning and blinking open his eye.
Doestar?! He scrambled to his paws and lunged at the other leader, pushing him back against the wall and standing defensively in front of him, blocking him from view of the camp as best he could. “You can’t be here,” he hissed, “my clan is out there! They’ll find out!” How could he explain the enemy coming out of his own den? And... was Doestar the reason he’d slept so well? He didn’t even want to think about that right now.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world" Flintrock purred. "I brought a fish to the party. Thought someone would enjoy it." He secretly wished she would eat the fish he had caught for her but he didnt want to tell her that.

"It's too late for that, worried-whiskers." A smooth, charming voice sounded from nearby. Calamityshrine gave the Summerclan leader a little wink and trotted over to join them, poking Chim in the ear with one slender black paw. "I'm glad you could come, by the way." His attention turned back to Doestar and he flashed a handsome smile in his direction. He was suspicious at first after hearing about the bright-eyed tom from Tuskblood, but Cal wasn't really one to judge character right off the bat. He whisked his way away from Chim's side and dipped his head casually. "The name is Calamityshrine. I'm Waterclan's new Deputy." He gave a little smile and wink once more, showing off his humorous side for a moment.
"Don't worry, I'm not dead or anything." Tuskblood growled as she also made her way towards the growing group around Chim. "Just got tired of takin' orders from the like of this guy." She snorted and passed her plumy tail in front of the Waterclan leader's nose. "Doestar, could you believe that I had to go fetch food for this lazy lump of fur and he didn't even say 'thank you?'" Her voice was exaggerated as she went on. "At least Calamityshrine is gullible enough to do it." With those words, Calamityshrine's mouth dropped open in shock. "I'm not that gullible and I'm not getting prey for anybody unless they absolutely need me to." He huffed, lifting his chin.
i would literally die for tuskblood, i love my grumpy grandma
Doestar laughed at Chim's panic, hopping back on three legs and letting himself be pushed back against the wall. "Relax!" he purred, prodding his chest gently with one forepaw and giving him a warm, glittering smile. "We're allowed to be friends, y'kn—oh. Hello!" He turned his cheerful grin on Calamityshrine and slipped out past the WaterClan leader, rather enjoying both being able to talk so openly with the other Clan members and Chim's flustered discomfort at his doing so. He didn't stop grinning as the new deputy continued, half genuinely interested in what he was saying and half just trying to stop himself openly getting the giggles at the whole situation. "Cute name! He's cute," he added to Chim, quick and quiet, eyes sparkling, "I'm almost jealous," before turning back to Calamityshrine and letting out a giggle at the wink. "I wouldn't have missed it! Really. I couldn't have. Coralreef made it sound like an invitation but I know it was a threat. Chim—erastar, you made it seem like I'm the most chatty cat you've ever met but you're wrong."
Don't worry, I'm not dead or anything. Doestar let out a purr, watching Tuskblood happily as she approached and smiling wider when she mentioned him by name. She still utterly terrified him, but he'd gotten past the worst of it and now he kind of completely secretly adored her. "He didn't even say thank you," he echoed, glaring teasingly at Chim and punctuating each word with a soft nudge in his side; immediately after, he was smiling again. I'm not that gullible and I'm not getting prey for anybody unless they absolutely need me to. "Cal, could you get me some prey?" he interjected immediately.
"Really? Thanks! It looks delicious, let's put it right on top where everyone can see it," Coralreef suggested, her eyes sparkling as she led him over to the pile of prey. "We can have a competition to see who gets to eat it! Whoever wins the game gets the fish! How about that?"
Friends. Friends? No, that was far too suspicious, everyone knew Chim didn't have friends, he just had Pygmyprawn. He spun around as Doestar left to greet the deputy, alarm flashing in his half gaze before he quickly strode to stand between them. He had been worried about the leader meeting Tuskblood, before, but after she stepped down he wasn't sure how much she hated him; now he was far more concerned about the reaction of his deputy, who was a little too sweet and a little too handsome to be standing so close to the SummerClan cat. He's cute, he heard, and he knew it was a joke, but as much as he trusted Doestar he didn't trust Calamityshrine. He shifted closer to the pair.
"Yeah, she's a handful," he muttered, shaking his head slightly at the mention of his daughter, and making a mental note to chew her out for this later. He glared at Tuskblood, less angry and more mildly mortified that she would make him look so ungrateful in front of his friend. Not that he had ever uttered a 'thank you' in his life. "I'll get the prey, Calamityshrine," he added firmly, already misliking Doestar had found him a nickname. He was already regretting waking up from his nap and bringing on a new deputy in the first place.

"Of cour- Oh, hey!" Cal shook his head, a bit embarrassed that he fell for that one. "Okay so maybe I'm a little gullible." He admitted with a cheeky smile before Chim interjected. "Ah, don't worry about it. If you two are really hungry then I'll go get it." He purred with a little wink to the Waterclan leader. As ditsy and scattered as the deputy seemed sometimes, he was quite observant and could see the hint of distrust there. Interesting. He thought as a little half-smile spread across his muzzle. The black tom let out an exaggerated yawn and whisked around to pad out of the den. "Honestly, it's no trouble at all. I thought about visiting with the others anyways."
Tuskblood rolled her eyes and gave Chim a little shove with one beefy paw. "Don't be such a grizzly bear in front of our guest, oh gloomy one." She snorted and nodded towards Doestar. "Oh, maybe I forgot to mention, but we've actually met before. He's a good one. A lil scrawny, I think, but got a good heart."
Doestar smiled after the deputy as the other tom left the den, before looking back at Chim with an amused purr. He looked the WaterClan leader up and down pointedly — you alright there? You’re very close — and nudged him teasingly with his shoulder before stepping back and sitting down, cheerful smile still on his face. “That was like a skit, wasn’t it?” he purred, any jealousy or tension going completely over his head. “He seems nice.”
When Tuskblood spoke up again, he started to relax a little more, growing more used to the she-cat. A lil scrawny, I think, but got a good heart. Doestar smiled, sitting up straighter and drawing his forepaws together neatly. “My mother called it light-boned,” he purred, “but scrawny’s another word for it, I suppose. And I don’t mind him being a grizzly bear, it’s half the reason I fell i—nnn the lake.” He let out a flustered little laugh, too afraid to look at Chim in case he was throwing him daggers. “In the lak—Tuskblood, how do you keep your fur so lovely?”
