-- Redfox goes hunting and gets hurt while fighting a fox for control over the prey that Redfox killed.
◀ ROLEPLAY
-- A warm breeze casts itself across the vast wheat fields of DayClan Territory. A small group of mice nibbled on some stalks of wheat, unaware that it may be their last time alive. The group slowly disappeared as they got food for their families. One mouse remained and it would be his or her's last.
Meanwhile, Redfox was just getting up. He stretched in his nest, gave a yawn and rose to a sitting position. He ran his tongue over his red-fox-like fur, cleaning away the clung on nest remains. After a few more minutes of raking his tongue through his pelt, he rose to his paws and made his way into camp. He stopped half way towards the camp entrance and glanced around to see who else was up. He let out a soft sigh, as he didn't see anyone and proceeded towards the camp entrance.
Once outside the camp he continued towards the wheat fields to see if he could catch a few mice. He padded silently through the wheat and soon paused to taste the air, smelling the scent of many mice, in one area, he headed in that direction. By the time he reached them only one was still nibbling on a piece of wheat. Redfox lowered himself into a crouch and wiggled his behind as he prepared to strike. He paused as he got close enough to pounce. With a might heave, he launched himself at the mouse and sank his teeth into it's neck. He heard the crunch of the bones and then felt the mouse go limp in his jaws. He buried the mouse and continued on his hunting.
He hunted until he had a good amount of prey to bring back home. Once he had enough he began to collect his kills and wrapping them up in a leaf wrap so he could carry them back. He was about to pick up the leaf wrap and head home when he caught site of a red fox, before it collided into him. Redfox was so not prepared for it, he stood for a moment confused and then when it tried to attack again, he leaped out it's way and the fight was on.
Redfox slashed his claws across the fox's nose, cutting it. The fox in a rage now lunged and snapped at Redfox. His teeth clamped onto Redfox's right shoulder, making Redfox howl in pain, as he bit down towards the bone. Redfox, in retaliation, slashed at the fox's side with his left claw, hoping to deliver it enough pain, to release him.
Zephyrglade let out a yowl in the distance. A flash of red and scarlet was all he could see at first, but the sharp musky tang of fox had already reached his nose before he had to decipher what was going on. A fox was attacking one of his clan mates! The blue grey tom barreled through the open lands and instead of aiming for the foxes neck he crashed straight into the foxes back legs with full brunt force causing the fox to lose balance and fall. It was an old strategy he had learned back when he was an apprentice in WaterClan. If a dog bites it will naturally let go if its back legs are disturbed, or at least that's what he'd been told. Who knew if it even worked on foxes. Zephyrglade turned his head to look at Redfox, did the fox release him or was he still being chomped down on?
Redfox nodded his head. His shoulder hurt really bad, but he rose to his paws, wincing slightly in pain. "I should be fine." He replied with a groan of pain. "My shoulder will heal, but it will take time."
