Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bbcode is done in brackets and there is no css for the code to refer back to So you have to put it all in the ‘divs’ which is everything within the brackets
If you mess up the code it will just take itself out. So if you put something like ‘background-position:cover’ that would disappear cause that’s not valid in bbcode.
Align / the placement of things so I also start a code with
so that the layout is in the center.
For posts widths on classic I wouldn’t exceed 850 though 900 will still fit. But it looks weird to go to wide.
When making a ‘div’ you put all the descriptors in the one set of brackets connected with semi-colons and within quotes. Like SO [div style= "float:right;width:500px;background-color:transparent;color:white;font-size:4em;padding-top:196px;text-align:right;letter-spacing:13px;"]
For backgrounds you can set by background-color or background-image
If you’re going to do images the format is background-image:url(urlhere);
If your setting a certain width and height for the image then the image you link has to be those specs.There is things you can do like listed below to edit it so you don't have to find an exact image every time. But for beginners I would ease into that.
IMAGE CHEATS [OR you can put into the code overflow:hidden; which will cut off of the extra of the image. Then if you want it centered you would put ‘background-position:center;’]
So if I was going to make a very simple colored box I would code it as so
To scroll you just put 'overflow:auto' you can also put 'overflow:hidden' or 'overflow:scroll' if you just want the text cut off for some reason. Or if you use scroll it will scroll on both axis more often than not. You can also change the scroll so it will only scroll on either the y or x axis by specifying that but that is another thing for further along I think.
To get a skinnier scroll bar there are a few cheats since you can't just set the width with bbcode like you might in html/css
Below I used a method where I put a transparent box inside the formatted cyanish box with overflow'hidden'. then I put a 'text' box inside that transparent that was just a little wider than is so that the extra width the scroll bar inhabited would be cut off in the overflow.

Either way growing under his mother as he did helped shelter Ferris from the harsh reality of the group he was born into. So much so that he entered his time as a combatant with too much innocence. Taken advantage of and pushed around he grew a thicker skin but not sharper teeth. Ferris finding distaste in hurting others simply to hurt them. The persecution of innocence one of the few things that can make the brown and white tabby tom snap and set his golden eyes ablaze. There are times he thinks he should run from his home, but it was where he was born and where his mother dedicated her life. So he stays and he weathers the storm; taking shelter when the wolves come out to play. He fell in with a bad crowd when Shae turned her eyes on him and hasn't been able to escape her grip ever since. Too dedicated to the kits he had with her to leave. Afraid of what they might become if left with only Shae to torment them. Trying to temper her cruelty with his own kindness though it is often a loosing battle. And sometimes he still thinks that perhaps he can find something good in Shae herself, no matter how foolish the thought. At times though he allows himself to fantasize of perhaps a normal life, or as normal as he can get after his experiences. Settling down with a pretty she-cat and raising kits with love and compassion. Of not fearing of making the wrong move and drawing his mate's wrath. Not afraid to speak up with his opinion. But those are silly fantasies, as he could never leave his kits.

DISCLAIMER : I am by no means what I would consider 'good' at bbcode. In fact I'm pretty basic at it so this is all pretty simple stuff. If you learn more I'm sure you'll surpass me an my knowledge really quick.
