Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Soft morning light flooded into the den, causing Littlebird's eyes to flutter open. The day before had been tiring, but now she had a litter of healthy kits. Her birthing had went better than expected, even though it had taken almost the entire day to bring all of them safely into the world. She almost could't believe that they had all made it through, as she nosed each one checking it over for any signs of weakness. Once she was satisfied that they were all alright, she pressed her nose against skipstep's cheek lightly. He was still asleep, having spent most of the night watching over them so that she could rest.
This litter of kits were a gift, the best gift that she could have been given during the romance festival. She would treasure each of these tiny lives, and make sure that they grew up knowing that they were loved.Jetclaw
Skipstep let out a noise of contentment, stirring, a soft purr rumbling through his throat as he shifted to press back against her. He had spent most of the night looking at their children and trying to remind himself this wasn't just a wonderful dream. Though Jetclaw's odd absence had also annoyed him, and he had waited for her to arrive with some grandiose last minute gift she'd come up with. But even his concerns for his sister's absence couldn't ruin the pure joy of this moment, Littlebird had, thank the sun god, had a safe normal birth without complications. A huge relief, and it left him thrilled to be a father again, to kits who were his own, and whose birth hadn't been filled with blood, agony and fear, but instead joy. Hope. And most of all relief. Relief that what had happened hadn't been a sign that poor Littlebird was cursed with difficult births forever.
"They're beautiful," He rasped sleepily. He hadn't said much else but told Littlebird how perfect she and their children were.
They were beautiful, all seven of them. Seven. Seven kits. Seven? It almost seemed unreal, and yet here they were suckling at her side. Even though her body was still exhausted, she couldn't have been much happier than in that moment. Everything had went well, and each of the kits seemed to be thriving despite it being a larger litter.
Keeping all of them fed would take a toll on her, but she had been taking strenthening herbs and herbs to increase her milk supply for weeks now in order to be better prepared. "They are, thank you for watching over them" it was different this time. With everyone doing well and Skipstep at her side, she didn't have to be afraid to take her eyes off of them. She could sleep soundly knowing that they would still be there when she awoke.
A purr rumbled in her throat, "I supposed the clan will want to see them soon, so I suppose we should start thinking of names before they start invading our den" It was traditional for the whole clan to shower new mothers and their kits with gifts, and since it was the priestess promised whom had given birth she could only imagine how restless they were becoming to see that she was alright with their own eyes.
She couldn't help me smile slightly "Well I made your sister a promise, that I would name one of them after her when we had our first litter" she chuckled letting her tail lightly brush the one the looked rather similar to Jetclaw, just fluffier "Luckily it seems that fate had the same idea"
Skipstep winced, but he nodded. Though he noted the absence of his sister plainly, when she did return from whatever had kept her away the night before, she'd be thrilled to hear that Littlebird had deigned to give her such an honor. "I think she would like that very much," He noted.
