Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Frozenfire sat near the ledge that looked down into the cenote below where she could see NightClan cats going up and down the winding path and even a few splashing and playing around in the pool of water at the bottom of the massive hole in the ground.
She shifted back to where she was a comfortable distance from the edge, wrapping her tail around her paws. Her swollen belly had impeded her progress greatly but this was a quiet place, not many cats keen on hanging out on the ledge where the winding path lay far below, and a fall would certainly result in injury.
The perfect place for her to meet with Ericanorth, and ask this huge favor of her friend.
Frozenfire's lips curled, she had been so so foolish. Driscal had laid it on thick when she'd seen him. Complimenting her on her cunning, how she was surely destined for greatness, giving her attention and feeding her ego that she lapped up like it was the sweetest cream.
When she'd found out she was pregnant she found herself in an awkward predicament. At the time she'd also been interacting closely with Coyoteway and figured she could pass them off as his. He and Driscal looked closeish enough and any oddities she could explain away as being from the family line, it wasn't like her niece would speak up about the falsehood anyways and few cats were old enough these days. NightClan had lost a great deal of it's old guard over the course of the past several seasons.
Then Coyoteway went batty and she decided she'd cut her ties, fortunately he showed his true colors before she bound herself to him, else she would've regretted it.
But now she had to go the path she'd been reluctant to go down.
Ericanorth was Frozenfire's... other half if she was honest. There was no other cat Frozenfire wanted at her side, and though Flamingsoul was her partner in crime in her plots to one day take over the clan... Ericanorth was more than just a partner in crime. Ericanorth was the one cat in the clan, that Frozenfire would prolly risk her own neck willingly for. She was by her side through thick and thin.
Which was why this was so difficult and had her heart pounding with more fear than anything she'd dealt with before. Coyoteway would've been a means to an end, this... this was bigger.
For the first time Frozenfire actually felt nervous about seeing Ericanorth. Would her friend see that she'd lay with Driscal as a betrayal of their bond? Or would she accept Frozenfire's kits as her own and they would raise them together to be great.
The anticipation was killing the light she cat and her blue eyes blazed with impatience, she hoped Ericanorth would join her soon.
Ericanorth strode across the shadowy grass, darkened by the night sky overhead. Her white as spider silk figure shimmered like a ghost in a graveyard rather than a silvery star in the night. There was such a dimness to her white fur it came off more transparent than pure and bright. Her ruby pink eyes gleaming with a devil may care attitude and when she stopped close to Frozenfire she flashed her a white tooth smirk, "So who are we gonna mess up tonight? Canalily's kinda getting on my nerves, not gonna lie, though I'd kind of feel like a bully going after her if I'm being honest. Like, I know if I mess with her, it's just cause I want to bother Larkwing and like. I only like to hurt the person I hate, not others in the process, or is that weird? Hey are you alright?"
Ericanorth could just make out the nervous anticipation brimming in her friends eyes. Nothing really set Frozenfire off- well not in an anxious sense at least. Rage? Sure. Nervous anticipation, never.
Frozenfire let out a weak chuckle. "No, that makes sense." She said slowly a bit awkwardly. Then she sighed and straightened up. "And no, I didn't call you here to mess with anyone... this is.. this is kind of life changing." She admitted.
And it was. She was carrying kits, and she was both dreading and even a little excited at the idea. For one all her ambitions would be forced to be put on hold. And it would mean a break from all her games as she became huge thanks to the kits she carried.
"You're the most important cat in my whole life, and what I'm about to tell you is basically going to change all my life's plans... or at the very least put most of my plots on pause. I'm expecting kits... and I don't want them to be raised by their father," She said firmly eyes narrowing. Driscal had laid with Burningstar, he was as good as dead to her. These kits would not know of their father or what of him if she had anything to say about it. "I want you to raise them with me."
Ericanorth watched her friend suspiciously, her pink magenta eyes narrowed. Frozenfire wasn't acting right and when she spoke her ears flattened against her head, did she have a chronic illness? Maybe it was a good thing and she found a mate. Actually if she found a mate that would suck, she wouldn't hangout with her as much. Her pink gaze glimmered, she was the most important person to Frozenfire. Of course she was!
"I want you to raise them with me."
"YUS!" Ericanorth shouted with a leap that was more like a wolfs pounce. She landed with a hot pink fire in her eyes, "You're on, Frozenfire! I will raise these kits with you. I don't know if I'll like it, but I know I'd spend all my days with you and if that includes them then I'll do it. Who knows, maybe they'll be cool and worship us for being so cool," She theorized, clearly not having a realistic expectation, but seemed pretty pumped about raising the kits or at the very least being there for Frozenfire.
Frozenfire's blue eyes lit up, and after Ericanorth all the nerves fell away and she straightened up, lifting her head pleased at Ericanorth's delight. "Well of course they'll worship us, they'll be raised to recognize that we're probably the only ones who get it in this clan of fools. Remember little Twilightpaw? Before the accident, why she just by being near us recognized our greatness, these kits will know it from birth."
At Ericanorth's second question she stiffened surprised. She hadn't considered the idea, and she was hardly looking fabulous with her beginning to swell belly. But it almost made her tear up at the suggestion. She had been struggling a bit with the fact she was getting bigger with the kits she carried and having to put so much on hold becuase of them.
But she could have this? A date with Ericanorth?
Immediately she recovered, trying to act like this wasn't a surprise wonderfully plump rabbit Ericanorth had laid at her paws. And instead like this was all planned. She nodded. "But of course, really Driscal was just a foolish distraction. It's you who should be by my side in every way. You're well, like the moon in my night sky. When you're away I've lost the light." She said, and mouse dung she was getting weepy again, composure falling away as the truth bled back in along with the feelings, "So-so come on! Let's go on a nice date somewhere, before these pregnancy emotions start making me blubber like a fool. Let's go on a date!"
