Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Softpelt, Inksplash, along with Fawnheart and her kits get settled into living in SpringClan once more and Smokecloud decides it's time for him to let Fawnheart return to her rightful position)
Softpelt finished setting up a few nests, she was grateful Shadedstar had granted them this chance, and she'd already paid a visit to where Birchshade and Coldpaw were buried, happy to be back home with them again.
It had broken her heart to be away from them for so long.
Out of force of habit when she came into camp she almost went into the medicine cat den, the scents drawing her in, but she quickly stopped herself at the mouth of the entrance. She didn't have any claim to it here. She'd been FallClan's medicine cat, not the medicine cat of SpringClan... and a part of her ached for it.
She shook herself going over to the freshkill pile and selecting a plump squirrel, she'd take it to share with Fawnheart, she imaged the other she cat would appreciate the prey, tired from getting her kits settled in their new home.
Fawnheart was in the nursery with her kits, dead tired on her paws. Her three kits that had followed her were complaining about being hungry and tired. She curled up in her make-shift nest and allowed them to nurse. It wasn't long before their soft purring turned into snores. Her heart ached for her other kits. The ones she had left behind in Fallclan. She had tried to get them to come with her but they had made Fallclan their home. Foxfoot had stayed behind to care for them until they were warriors. She missed her family more than anything. She hated how devided they were. Her happy little family was broken. Anger pulsed through her as she remembered how Bijou was running Fallclan but relief soon flooded over her when she found out that Fallclan has demoted Bijou from leadership. They must have seen what he was turning the clan into. Now, Loststar is leader and Fawnheart felt guilty for leaving. She wished she had stayed and waited out the fall of Bijou. She was close to Loststar, back when she was Lostsong, the Fallclan deputy. She knew Loststar would be a great and successful leader of Fallclan. The rightful leader. Though, guilt still clawed at her. It felt wonderful to be back in Springclan but Loststar had told Fawnheart before she claimed leadership that she enjoyed having Fawnheart in Fallclan and hoped she would stay. Perhaps if Bijou had been demoted sooner, she may have stayed for Loststar. However, she would always be an ally to Loststar. If she needed anything, she would be there to help her.
Pawsteps approaching snapped Fawnheart out of her thoughts. A moment later, Softpelt padded in, a squirrel dangling from her jaws. "Hello, Softpelt" she greeted with a purr, her eyes droopy with exhaustion.
Softpelt purred as well and set down the squirrel she'd brought. "Here, I brought this for us to share, how are you doing?" She asked her friend. The words a loaded question.
"Oh, thank you so much" she purred, appreciating the kind gesture. She took a small bite out of the squirrel and swallowing it quickly before answering Softpelt's question. "Well, I could be better, I guess. I've missed Springclan but I dont like that my family is divided." She frowned. "How are you doing?" Fawnheart knew Bijou had demoted Softpelt from medicine cat and the previous medicine cat had been a little distraught about it. She wondered how Softpelt was holding up. How she was feeling about being back home.
Softpelt shrugged. "Honestly... I thought I would feel a bit more conflicted. But I'm settling in rather well. I suppose there's a part of me that can't ever really leave SpringClan." She said with a soft laugh shaking her head.
"I'm happy that you've found your place, Softpelt. Even as a Fallclan member, you always stayed true to your birth clan. I wish I could say the same." She sighed, looking down at her remaining kits. "I've grown to love Fallclan but Springclan was always my home. I feel like I'm torn between two worlds. But I know this is where I truly belong. I belong here, in Springclan." She raised her eyes back to Softpelt. "I talked to Smokecloud. He offered me my position back. I told him I would think about it. If I went back to being medicine cat, I would have to juggle my work with my kits. I could do it but it wont be easy."
"I could help you," Softpelt offered. "I have training after all, but I've always felt like I had so much to learn still. If you become medicine cat and I become your 'apprentice', I can help keep you from getting overwhelmed, and I can continue to develop my healing skills that I've developed."
