Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Duskwing huffed, she wasn't very old but sometimes it felt like it. Seeing her kits now all grown up. The weight of the losses she'd had in her life. It was a lot to bear. It sometimes dragged her down.
Cats were reporting suspicious activity on the borders and many were starting to get worried.
So Duskwing had gathered a patrol and led them out to where some had noticed suspicious activity. And almost immediately the scent of Twoleg became clear.
There was definitely something amiss.
But as Duskwing led her patrol along, she detected fox and immediately warned the patrol to be on guard. "Just what we need, a fox and twolegs, stay wary." She warned.
She began to move past a bush, the smell of twoleg, fox, along with a delectable smell reminiscient of plump rabbits and tender mice made her pause. She sniffed, lowering her nose turning her back to the bush.
White hot pain seared her back leg Duskwing letting out a screech of alarm, head whipping back. A fox's snout clear in her visage, it's awful teeth clamped down on her back leg.
"You piece of Fox Dung!" She screeched lashing out with her claws but the Fox only bit down harder, something cracking earning a scream from Duskwing.

Bonfirespark gave himself a hefty internal earcuff for not noticing the fox was closer sooner. He winced as the foxes teeth cracked into the bone of Duskwing's hind leg. Snarling the large fall tone tom hurled himself onto the Foxes back sinking his teeth into its scruff and ripping his claws along its flank.
Duskwing continued to pummel the fox's snout with all her other paws, and when Bonfirespark struck the fox released her leg, Duskwing drawing herself away, trying to put weight on her leg, letting out a shriek at the splitting agony immediately taking her weight off the leg hurrying away from the fox.
The fox twisted trying to chomp at Bonfirespark, but something was keeping it stuck by the bush. Soemthing silver fastened around it's thick bushy tail.

THE PROTECTOR - NIGHTCLAN WARRIOR
The black tom's ears twitched, hearing the screams of a clan-mate. He went running towards the sound about to throw himself at the fox, but his two clan mates were now standing just out of reach of the snapping jaws of the fox. He skidded to a stop beside them, eyes wide with bot curiosity and horror. Tearing his gaze away from the predator, feeling very uncomfortable being so close to an animal that could easily tear one of them apart "Are you ok?" he questioned, fur still bristling
Duskwing looked at her son Spiderfang with wide eyes, she tried to get to her paws, but the agony in her back leg kept her from putting it even close to the ground. She spared a glance back and let out a horrified cry at the sight of her mangled back leg. "No." She grimaced. She didn't want to alarm her son, but the injury was bad.
"That fox messed up my leg." She hissed through gritted teeth as she tried to settle herself in a way that made the agony from her hurt leg quiet. "I don't know if I can put weight on it."
The fox continued to snarl and snap at them the cats just out of it's reach and it let out a growl glaring at them.

He had been so distracted by the snapping jaws, that it hadn't sank in just how injured his mother was until she said something. As his eyes landed on her back leg he felt his heart sink and his stomach begin to flutter. "Here, use me to lean on, we need to get away quickly" he looked nervously over to the fox
"I don't know what that is holding the fox or how long it will hold" he knew that he wasn't quite big enough to pick up his mother on his own, but he could offer a shoulder for her to lean on
