Lilyfrost laid in her nest in the nursery with four cute kits nursing hungerly. She gave each one a loving lick on the top of their heads then sighed as she thought about their father. It had been awhile since she had seen him. Since she normally doesn’t leave the camp often, she hadn’t been able to tell Night he was a father. Night is a loner who lives in the territory east of EarthClan. She had met him when she was a young warrior before her injury with the badger. Every so often, she’d leave the camp to visit him. Many times she urged him to join EarthClan but he liked his loner existence too much to change, even for her. So she had to content herself with being with him only once in a while.
Looking down on her kits, she smiled. One tom was all black just like Night, so she named him Nightkit. An all white she kit was nursing next to him whom she named Frostkit. Then there were the other two, one tom and one she kit, who were both white with black patches of fur like her own beautiful pelt. The tom she named Icekit and the she kit she called Jasminekit. “Someday when you’re old enough to leave the camp, I’ll introduce you to your father,” she told her little kits.
