Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Doestar loved DayClan, far more than he had when he'd been a rebellious NightClan apprentice yearning for lands far more afield than their neighbours. Then, he'd found DayClan's territory bland and ordinary; now, he thought it was almost as beautiful as SummerClan's, all soft sunlight and flowers and the warm smell of wheat. Even all that gentleness, however, couldn't distract him from his nerves. Glowstar was the leader he was the most nervous and excited to meet, purely because he... thought she was pretty incredible. He'd seen her at the last gathering, when the moon had disappeared, and he'd been too shy to go over and talk to her; she was older, and so much more experienced, and so funny, and warm, and accomplished, and slightly mad - and, oh, God, he really just kinda wanted her to like him and for them to be friends. She was so cool.
But the last thing he wanted to seem like when he spoke to her for the first time was a giddy fanboy. He had to play it cool, which, as he well knew from all the other times he'd tried to play it cool, always went well and never ended with him embarrassing himself and making a hasty, grinning exit. But this was going to be different. He was going to be charming, and sweet, and fun, and it would be fine. It would be great! Absolutely great. And so, he waited at the DayClan border, fur freshly groomed, cheerful smile on his face, and a pretty yellow flower from the SummerClan wildflower meadow tucked in front of his ear for good measure. He felt like he was waiting for a date. He let out a nervous laugh at the thought and kneaded at the earth with his good forepaw. His fur felt like it was burning. This was stupid. He hurriedly moved to take the flower from his ear— when he heard something nearby and sat up with a big, happy grin, one paw still resting on the flower atop his head.
Glowstar sashayed through the golden tendrils of wheat. Flecks of golden seeds sailed past her in gentle waves that gave the world around her a magical flare, as if DayClan rested on the cusp of heaven and wonder. She didn't look like an angel born from harmony and love, but like a Goddess who shattered governments like glass and wore all her wondrous imperfections like diamonds. No one could wield failure like a scythe quite like she did. DayClan had been defeated multiple times, but time and again their impressive road to freedom and tranquility as well as resilience to fear mongering put them in a place few clans could claim to be in. One of content. Leave it to the anarchist to create such a peaceful harmony that only she could call hell.
It was on beautiful days like these that she craved a fix, a small bout of chaos and a side of murder. She hadn't become an assassin, she was a born assassin, there was no off switch and yet for DayClan she resisted these urges everyday out of love for them. She stopped at the sight of Doestar, a gentle oh breathing out warm as a summer breeze. She was concretely, undeniably gorgeous, with sunkissed fur and large emerald green eyes that lit up when she smiled at him, "You're cute."
The tip of her tail swished inward in a silent gesture for him to follow alongside her as though they were long time friends. It was nice to finally have an intruder that didn't trip over her while she was napping in the middle of a wheat field or wild flower garden.
Doestar’s heart hammered in his chest at the sight of the DayClan leader and he rose instinctively to his paws, tail swaying above his head like a kittypet. He had no interest in she-cats whatsoever, but even he felt a little overwhelmed by her beauty, a blush creeping up to the tips of his ears and making his nose pinker than it already was. You’re cute. He let out a flustered, breathy giggle and dropped his gaze to the earth, shuffling his good paw through the dust as a big, giddy smile spread across his face. “Thank you,” he replied quietly, shy and flattered and overjoyed all at the same time. “You’re… gorgeous.” The word spilled out of his mouth before he could stop it and he stared at her in alarm for a moment before covering it with a soft, embarrassed little laugh and touching his paw to his mouth.
When she gestured for him to join her, he wasted no time, quickly tucking his flower back in place and limping quickly after her. This is going not terribly, he thought as he limped alongside her, casting small, shy smiles at her every now and then. “So, I… Lovely as DayClan is, I’m not just here for, uh… for pleasure. I thought I ought to meet you, now that I’m leader and… you’re leader, and… we’re leaders.” He let out a flustered laugh and inwardly winced. “Point is, I have only the utmost respect and—and affection for you and your Clan and I hope we can be friends. Our Clans, I mean. And us. I’m sorry, I’m usually much more charming than this.” He grinned lop-sidedly and let out another soft little laugh.
Her eyes widened in surprise, sugary sweet laughter escaped from her jaws, "Excuse my outburst, I still get all giddy inside at such forward compliments." She listened closely to his words and couldn't help, but think how far everything had come. It really had been years since Foxstar and her had become leaders and received their nine lives together, died together, bled their hearts out to one another. The strain their relationship had gone through and over a tom too, the worst friendship breaking up stereotype out there. Still their Red Lioness Pride alliance was strong, Sun, Night, and Day were close and given how Peach was close to them as well and now led Absum Lux things were only looking up. They had never befriended a Mountain Clan before, in fact, SummerClan was usually so boring it even managed to stay off her radar, she knew nothing about it.
"You mean this is your charming at it's lowest? I'm shaking at the idea of what it would be like full force," Glowstar purred with a playful smile as she ventured on, "First I need to know if you're comfortable establishing your relationship with just DayClan or the entire Pride. The Pride is made up of Night, Sun, Day, and Absum Lux. Once I know what you're thinking I'll have more questions such as if you're already currently allies with someone else. We have feuds sometimes."
Doestar ducked his head as another blush crept over his cheeks, a pleased smile spreading across his face. As Glowstar began her questioning, however, he straightened up and adopted a more serious expression, nodding along as he listened; sweet as the DayClan leader sounded, he understood that this was a serious decision he needed to make, far from home, alone with a leader so much larger than him in her own territory. Along with the thrilled little tingles buzzing through his paws, the prospect of talking business with her was more than a little daunting.
“I was born in NightClan,” he replied, voice soft and even. “Lived there until shortly after my warrior ceremony, and still have a brother there. I’ll be honest with you, though, because I don’t want any nasty secrets to get in the way of our relationship – I moved to BrookClan for a while at the time of the Arena Games and lived there as a voiny before leaving to join SummerClan. I’ve probably spent more time wandering between the Clans than I’ve spent in one single home, not because I couldn’t settle down, and not because I wasn’t loyal, just because I… like adventuring more than I like staying in one place. Bit restless.” He laughed softly, nerves making the fur prickle along his shoulders. He didn't mention his string of violent relationships with rogues and loners and cats of all Clans; didn't mention his sick penchant for being abused and degraded; didn't mention all the times that love for adventuring had gone wrong.
“Maybe I’ve always been a little afraid of having a home because that gives me something to lose. But I love SummerClan more than I've ever loved anything, and I feel like I’ve finally found the place I won’t go… completely stir-crazy in.” He huffed another little laugh. “And I want to do what’s best for them. And what’s best for them at this moment is a good relationship with you and yours. As for our current alliances, I… have friendly, uh, personal relationships with the leaders of FallClan, SpringClan, and WaterClan, but there are no formal alliances." He decided last-minute to omit his rather odd relationship with Primal Instinct. He stopped and turned to her with a delicate, determined frown, desperate to get it all right. "And that’s the honest truth.”
"You're very honest," Glowstar observed, "So if you do join I insist you drag your paws on anything Foxstar suggests to you. She's very manipulative and while you're safe in the alliance she might try to persuade your help in less than favorable circumstances, but dress it up as if it'll benefit you. For you to join we'll need approval. The task isn't easy seeing as Foxstar is currently being held in a maximum security prison."
She tilted her head up in thought, her claw jutted against the tip of her chin, "I suppose quid pro quo, I'll share a bit about myself. I'm a bit of an adventurer myself, started out underground, worked my way to the league where I led a team of assassins which required many business trips. After I was promoted to proxy and then deacon, but with each new rank I became more chained and there was less ground to roam when I was stuck by the nemesis's paws. I loved Primal Instinct, but they killed my kits and I mean-" Glowstar shrugged, "Sure, they're probably a bit demonic, but murder still felt uncalled for. Either way I left because DayClan is heaven on earth, beautiful lands, living souls you can trust instead of wondering if they'll backstab you," Glowstar smiled, twisting the long hairs of her tail between her claw, "Never thought I'd believe in such deadly things like love and trust, but here I am."
