Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. The black tom closed his eyes and sent a thank you to the moon god. While not everyone in MoonClan worshiped the ancient deity Lunarpaw chose to. He had heard the stories and chose for himself. The small vole he caught wouldnt feed more than a single cat but it was a blessing none the less. He blinked harvest moon eyes the gold speckles catching the moons light.
Moonpaw was only able to find a small bird during his little venture unfortunately. Bounding back toward Lunarpaw, prey dangling from his maw, he caught the black cat staring up into the night sky. "What's up, Lunarpaw?" he asked, dropping the bird.

"Just saying thank you." he meowed giving his companion a small smile. "Good catch. Did you catch it sleeping in its nest?" he purred. It was hard to find birds at night. Most were nested down for a good nights sleep.
He nodded. "Yeah. This one seemed to not get the memo," he responded with a slight laugh. "But it could be due to the Moon God's generosity," he said looking to the sky. It seemed as though, lately, the deity has become more prevalent in their lives. That was an odd occurrence he thought.

Lunarpaw nodded in agreement. "Perhaps something is coming where we will need the Moon god more than we ever have. They seem to be everywhere lately." He scrapped some earth over his catch and looked up with a small smile. "Want to tag team a catch?"
Moonpaw nodded eagerly. "Uh huh!" he responded. Looking around the forest, he asked, "Where shall we go, Lunarpaw?"
Retreating into his own head space, Moonpaw thought about what Lunarpaw said about needing the Moon God more than ever. Was something about to happen? Is a war imminent?

"We could head for the rock piles and try our luck at snakes? Or head closer to the river for some water voles." he suggested. The moon seeming to pass through his black pelt instead of glistening across it.
"Snakes? That sounds dangerous, but let's do it!" he said bouncing up and in down in excitement. "Lead the way, Lunarpaw." He glanced up toward the Moon again. May the Moon God grant me many catches.

Lunarpaw nodded. He looked back over his shoulder to make sure his catch was well covered before darting off towards the bored away from camp. The feeling of the light breeze pulling on his pelt made him purr softly as he moved. "We will needed to slow down before we get there so we dont scare them off."
"Right." he responded as he chased after Lunarpaw. An odd question hit him in the moment. "Hey Lunarpaw, how much do you believe in the Moon God?" he asked curiously.
"Define absolutely," he continued. "I'm not saying I doubt him, no, not at all, but I am curious. Would you follow him even if it meant the destruction of MoonClan?" Moonpaw's curiosity got the best of him as he questioned his companion, but he shook the thoughts from his head. "No, don't answer that," he mowed with a small apologetic smile.

Lunarpaw's ear flicked in surprise. "I feel my allegiance is first to the Moon before anything else. And I believe the Moon is in favor of MoonClan. So yes I assume if the destruction of MoonClan was in the future of the Clan by the Moon's wishes then I have faith the Moon would resurrect his clan." he meowed with a steady voice.
"Hmm..." he said considering Lunarpaw's response. He opened his mouth to ask another question, but closed it again and continued on. His response have him something to think about. Not to say he wasnt a believer but he just wasnt that...devoted? He shook his head again and looked ahead of him. "I think we may be getting close."

Lunarpaw nodded slowing now to a slow silent walk. "Just ahead." he agreed as he crouched at the edge of a clearing in dense undergrowth. Ahead of them a stack of rocks scattered across the clearing in all sizes welcomed them. "Watch where you step. These things are sneaky." he warned. He favorite prey to hunt were snakes but he couldn't gloat about the so few he had caught.
He nodded and crouched down, surveying his surroundings. He made sure to take note of any and all small openings in the ground and opening in spaces between rocks. Like Lunarpaw said, they were sneaky creatures. Satisfied with his observations, he decided he would step out first, taking a tentative step into the clearing, lightly placing a paw on the ground Sudden movements would disturb them surely and get defensive, or worse, have whatever was there, scatter in a frenzy. "Mind watching my back," he whispered to Lunarpaw without taking his eyes off the rocks stones that lay ahead.
