Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It hadn’t even been a moon since he, Shadedstar and Bijou had stumbled across the nameless kits abandoned in the ferns, and already Doestar loved them more than he’d ever thought it was possible to love another cat; a pure, deep, selfless sort of love that was all warmth and terror and the most desperate need to protect them. And Batkit was special to him — the kit he’d chosen to spend the first moon with, the kit he’d chosen to take back for the first time to SummerClan, to raise him as his own and introduce him to a new life in the world he loved.
But the thing about being a parent, he’d learned, was that he spent most of his life now worrying about Batkit and his siblings — worrying that something would happen to the kits beyond his borders, worrying that the queens would grow tired of caring for a kit that wasn’t theirs, worrying that Batkit wasn’t happy, or that he wasn’t a good father. It had come naturally, really, being a dad — he’d always loved kits, already had his relationships with Quillpaw and Sunflowerpaw to base it off and try to mimic — but still he was just so... terrified. Warm, and happy — so happy. But terrified.
And so, at sunhigh, he went in search of his son. “Hey, sweetheart,” he called softly, ducking his head into the nursery and having a mossball thrown at his nose by Kelpiekit. “You in here?”
