For a cat like Magicnight, it was strange she was born and raised in Sunclan of all places. She differed greatly from her clanmates. More fascinated than fearful of the outside clans, more cheerful than her sun filled companions. Still, she held onto their religion and teaching true. Though today, she laid on a large rock next to the river under the old bridge. It was warm on her black fur, one paw dangling in the water and muttering a quiet prayer to the sun god. When something grazed her paw, she dove into the water in a blink of an eye. Not one to learn fishing, she wasn't very good and splashed around in the river until she finally managed to catch the fish. It flopped and flailed on the ground, and Magic paid it no mind as she shook the water off.
"Gee, this is a lot harder than I thought." She sighed, exasperated but proud.
"Good catch for a learner." meowed Fernpaw coming up behind Magicnight. She too was different from her clan mates. But being the priestess promised daughter had its perks. like not being singled out or treated differently. But her 100% WinterClan blood was evident in her dark brown thick pelt and her fathers emerald green eyes.

"Ah, hello Fernpaw." Magicnight placed a paw over her floundering prey and leaned down to save it from it's suffering, "Thanks. I know it's not really a Sunclan thing to do, but it never hurts to learn, no?" Her tail flicked back and caught her ear and she tilted her head. She wouldn't consider herself a good fisher, and no one really taught her. It was more fighting lessons than anything for the young warrior, not that they did much good. "What are you doing out here? No one really comes down here."

"I wonder." she wasnt about to admit that the sun was too hot and she had come to sooth the heat from her pelt. Dark brown and harsh heat did not mix well. "But you are right!" she said reverting the conversation back to fishing. "It is wise to use what resources we have even if it is not common."

Even if she had shared that, Magicnight would have understood. She had the same issue, and her little flop got her even cooler, so win-win. Even if the water felt like needles running down her back, in a weirdly pleasant way.
"Exactly," she chirped, letting her question go, "though I'm not sure how well fish'll go over back at camp. I bet some of them are too used to land prey to like it." She guessed that statement should apply to her as well, but the few small frys she caught weren't so bad.
