Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. Mistyveil had brought along her mate with her to go herb hunting on another clans territory. One that didn't have wintry air all year round and wasn't a fruitless land. She was pregnant and felt they hadn't spent enough time together so multi-tasking herb hunting with a date just made logical sense. Maybe she should have sent her medicine cat apprentice, Cinnamonpaw to do this, but the fur brains in camp were driving her and she was sure Regin, nuts. She walked over to a beehive, honey. Her blue and turquoise eyes widened with greed, "Regin I want that," She pointed with the biggest pretty please smile he had ever seen her make in her life. WinterClan didn't have beehives, but plenty of sore throats. Some honeycomb would go a long way. On any other day she'd climb the tree herself, but she was also multi-tasking being a medicine cat with providing the clan with more kits and it was typically frowned upon for a mother to whack at a beehive while pregnant so she just couldn't do it herself.
"If you get me that I'll love you forever," Mistyveil said matter of factly, "If you carry it for me I'll call you out for being a hottie every time you pass by me too." She said, trying to sweeten the deal.
Regin looked up at the hive and rolled his eyes. “Can’t you ever want something easier? You know, like a single flower? Preferably one that grows in our territory.” Still, his thoughtful gaze sized up the bees as he came up with a plan.
All in all, he decided he missed being a prisoner. There were few advantages to this warrior life and collecting beehives was not one of them. When he was locked up he had a good excuse, but now he had none, and he couldn’t disappoint his mate by saying no.
“If I get stung a thousand times and die a painful death, I blame you,” he mewed mildly as he started to climb.
"I've lived with my loved ones dying before I can live with it again."
Mistyveil joked sometimes, the issue was it never came off with a teasing tone of voice and making jokes like these a bit harder to detect.
Mistyveil watched Regin with wide admiring eyes as he looked to the beehive. If he did get stung they could head back to WinterClan and she could finally use up the winter savory that helped treat bee stings. It constantly annoyed her that WinterClan had an herb that treated bug inflicted wounds and yet they never had any bugs. What kind of messed up world did they live in? Looking back at Regin it felt worth it, maybe whoever created the world made it just for this moment, the moment where Regin might get stung and needed it. Maybe the whole world just revolved around them and everyone else wasn't sentient, she could picture that. Regin and her seemed to be the only cats that made good decisions, it made sense that it would be them against the world.
"I'll ask for a flower next time then and you can feel triumphant in walking over and plucking it," Mistyveil said. With an expression too generous to call a smile, but was warm enough.
