Rapsberrypaw scratched aggressively at the dirt, "Hey!" She cried out at the ground with annoyance.
Her honey blond head looked back and forth in distress as she frantically pawed at the ground. She had been sniffing around for a while by the training field, some might have thought she finally lost it, but when a voice casually said, "Over here sunshine fur," There was a white tom standing off on the other side of the field. Despite the distance anyone could see from a mile away his glittery tooth smile hanging by his lips like diamonds and his green lightning eyes that sent chills down any felines spine. The tom was on the shorter side, lean and nicknamed Whitley. Clans from all over had been reporting him as a problem, but no one had yet to catch him. He wore a black feathered mask concealing his eyes and had long tufts of fur slicked back over his forehead.
Raspberrypaw's amber eyes glinted, "Intruder!" She said leaping up once in the air before darting towards the stranger.

Bushes would rattle fiercely as a figure wasted no time in making his appearance. It was Mistfeather, a tom not hesitating to jump in front of the apprentice's way with a serious expression on his face.
"Raspberrypaw stop, you know better then to go off attacking a stranger on your own," the tom scolded, his eyes turning to gaze towards Whitley. This tom was normally very mild mannered and quiet especially beside his close comrade Rainwhisper, yet now he was filled with a rage that even rivaled that of the moon god. His claws remained sheathed but he crotched protectively in front of the apprentice, "Cornering a young cat on her own, how low can you get."
"But! But!" She protested before saying in a smaller voice, "She stole a sparrow from us..."
"Actually I think I'll just be leaving with my prize," Whitley purred kicking up the sparrow with his paw and catching it in his mouth before turning tail to run off. He was cocky, but clearly his intelligence didn't measure up to his actions. He was running deeper into NightClan, not towards the border. He was clearly lost and was about to get easily cornered himself with the path he was running on.

Mistfeather flashed a grin towards the apprentice, "Stay behind me young one," the tom instructed before running off after the stranger. With an expression of casual annoyance, the tom would call out as they ran, "Now come on, don't tell me you're too scared to face one warrior and an apprentice are you? Turn around and take us on!" He was fairly laid back sounding, keeping straight behind the tom in hopes in keeping him towards the direction he wished to see him go, 'That's right, keep heading forward....'
"Haha, cute try," Whitley said leaping onto a tree for a moment as if to try and climb up, but weirdly wasn't able to. It seemed like something every cat knew how to do, even a kit knew how to climb up one, maybe not get down, but at least climb up, he didn't seem to be able to understand how to even grasp it. His green gaze widened seeing the warrior and apprentice near him and quickly sped off again, but lost some distance he originally had with them and soon turned running backwards, "Can I just quickly say I never claimed to be the brave and bold type."
He spun on his heels and leapt down off a tall ridge, but not tall enough for it to be terribly dangerous.
Raspberrypaw was fast and was able to keep up at Mistfeather's side looking up at him every now and then hoping they'd be able to take him on together, but he was out numbered.

"Raspberrypaw go around the ridge and circle in front of us, I'll keep close on his tail. If you catch him off guard in front it will give me the chance to catch him by surprise when he tries to redirect himself from you!" Mistfeather instructed quickly.
Not hesitating in the slightest, the lean muscular tom followed the stranger of the ridge, landing squarely at the bottom with little moments pause before continuing to run after his target. 'This brings me back to days protecting our territory from rogues when we were loners at the edge of the territory. If Rainwhisper were here she'd likely would have caught up to him...' The benefit the tom had was Raspberrypaw would be enough to make up for Mistfeather's frame. He wasn't fast and agile as his best friend was, but he was practically a wall when it came to taking an enemy head on. If Raspberrypaw could catch up and do as instructed, the two would stand a chance on bringing down the stranger.
There was a moment, a small window in time where Mistfeather could catch just the faintest teasing smile on Whitley's face. His paw jostled free a rock from the ridges end, it was bigger than the other rocks and in a weird way seemed to stand out among the darker colored rocks. When he pried the large rock from the pile a small landslide of rocks and dirt tumbled down the ridge in an attempt to block Mistfeather. The move didn't seem like random luck, he went to it like he always knew it was there.
Raspberrypaw had already circled around the bend, but with her brighter colored pelt Whitley was able to easily spy her out and dodged to the right away from her, but Raspberrypaw was still on him tackling him to the ground and rolling once. Her leg got tripped up on Whitley's allowing him to get on top of her as he immediately dashed forward off of her to try to get away before Mistfeather came. His speed was pretty good, but he was on the smaller side, and hadn't glanced back whether the Mistfeather avoided the rockslide and was right behind him or if luck would have it, got caught up in it. He just needed to get a little closer...

Mistfeather would let out a yowl as the rock slide rushed toward him, his eyes widening as the massive rock barreled toward his frame and he did his best to make his way up. He would grit his teeth as one of the rocks slid down his frame, the scent of dirt and blood filling his nose as he fought to get out of the rubble. 'I have to protect Raspberrypaw, she's taking him on all on her own' he told himself before finally managed to drag his body up the ridge. The tom watched for a moment as the two cats scrambled with each other, but an anger immediately hit him like a storm. Mistfeather, bleeding and covered in dust, used the last of his adrenaline to get in front of the strange tom.
His appearance was unruly, the tom's grey pelt looked brown from all the dirt from the fall, he had a fair sized gash on his right shoulder which was bleeding all down his leg, and his right ear was torn sending blood dripping down his face. If he didn't look like an angry wild cat now, oh did he look like it right then, "I'm done playing games, you nearly killed me. If the apprentice had given chase right behind me you could have killed her!"
Whitley pointed to the gash on Mistfeather's shoulder, "You should uh, do something about that."
His ears went back hearing Mistfeather's hostility and the wild anger that flew past his eyes. Whitley laughed nervously taking the bird gently back into his mouth, "Wow, y'know, that's so true, I will uh be heading out then," He immediately moved to scamper out, but Raspberrypaw made sure to trip him with her legs. Whitley slipped once, but got his footing fast and ran forward trying to get away before Mistfeather who was so nicely keeping himself composed, erupted. He had no idea what Mistfeather erupting would look like, but what he did know was that rock slide angered him and he was probably more determined than ever to catch him. It was probably too late to just return the bird and run. Raspberrypaw frowned, maybe she was just clumsy, she thought for sure that would trip up him completely.

Mistfeather didn't pause to give Whitley a chance to flee, rushing forwards the tom would immediately charge forward and tackle the tom scrambling in a pile of paws and fur all in an effort to try to pin him down. By the time he managed too, Mistfeather was out of breath and pushing a sheathed paw against the tom's chest. For several moments the tom stared, his gaze showing nothing but malice towards the masked stranger he had underneath him. While very easily he could have likely unmasked him, threatened to hurt him and even possibly kill him with he strength he clearly possessed... he simply leaned forward and whispered in a deep growl, "You apologize to her... right now..."
It was clear by tone of his voice the tom was doing his very best to keep himself together. Every part of him wanted to flail this tom for what he nearly did to him and he apprentice who accompanied him... but that wasn't what he was anymore. He wasn't about to put Raspberrypaw in a position to witness such a sight, "You apologize to her... and I will let you live..."
"Whoa!" The tom said tumbling over with a heavy omph noise. Although he was an apprentice he didn't seem like a very good one, any apprentice should have been able to at least try to get in a defensive position or struggle, but instead he just stared up into Mistfeather's currently, hellish gaze. It was apologize or die, his littermates always seemed to have the prideful approach and would sooner die than admit wrong. He, however was not like his sisters and had no issue with apologizing.
"I appreciate the feedback, absolutely right, could have turned murderous, I'll try making a pitfall with no spikes next time," Whitley said politely before eagerly turning to Raspberrypaw, "One thousand apologies, sorry that in an alternate universe you're no more. Glad it wasn't this one, cute fur by the way," He complimented before looking back up at his reaper with a sheepish smile, "Do I pass? Or do I pass on into the afterlife cause my religion kind of forbids me from getting killed anywhere, but home."

Mistfeather snarled at the tom's sarcasm, "You're very lucky I don't go through the trouble of flailing you at the border to set an example for others who trespass on our territory. Get out of here I don't care where as long as it's outside of EarthClan territory. We have enough problems then to have to manage a masked Romeo on our land." The tom kept his paws on the stranger for a moment longer, several moments contemplating whether or not to unmask the cat... but every cat was entitled to his secrets, Mistfeather had his own fair share. It was because of this reason the former loner lifted his paw, deciding to let the roamer go, "Don't make me regret releasing you, remember what could have happened today."
"I could have gotten a sick scar today, I will not forget that," His internal sarcasm spoke in his mind, wise enough not to say it out loud. He knew one of these days he'd accidentally say something he shouldn't, but once he got a nose bleed trying to hold in all the sarcasm, he had to voice it somewhere even if it was in his mind.
Whitley shook out his pelt and ran, not before nosing the sparrow up and catching it in his jaw. He ran down a hill, but seemed to vanish, never becoming smaller in the distance, likely turning right for the border instead of straight ahead which was a strange way of going since he was heading for SunClan territory that way.
Raspberrypaw nuzzled into Mistfeather, "You're so brave!" She beamed looking up at him with bright amber eyes, "I can't stand weirdos, they freak me out, I usually just run, but have to remind myself I'm going to be a warrior and can't run from weirdos every time I see them."

Mistfeather sighed gently before batting the apprentice's ear with a sheathed paw, "If I wasn't here I wouldn't want you to chase after the tom on your own. There is always a place to be brave, but there is always a place to be smart as well. Even as a warrior you should never try to take on another cat on your own if you can avoid it. We are not rogues and loners, we are a clan and we need to feel as if we can rely on each other."
With an expression of worried kindness he sniffed over her pelt to check for injuries, "Are you injured at all? Your mother will surely add more injuries to my pelt should you return with any blood on your fur."
"Oh, okay, I guess I just look at my mom Soaringbird and think I should do the same. She's always so quick to give chase," Raspberrypaw confessed before giving a cheery "Nope!" to the next question, "You don't look so good though," Raspberrypaw giggled patting off some debris off of Mistfeather's fur.

"Well I always figure I never look too good, I always find myself getting you clan born members out of trouble," he spoke kindly with a purr, his tone carrying a slight sense of seriousness that anyone could detect if one listened carefully. "Even as an outsider you begin to look deeper into the heart of a clan to see the flaws in its outlook. I cannot help but feel frustrated in the hardships it endures simply because no one can get along or others place focus more on themselves rather then everyone as a whole."
For a moment he paused, seeming to realize who exactly he was speaking too, "I am sorry, please forget you heard my ramblings..."
