Stonewatcher's thoughts were clouded by the events of the gathering, his expression filled with concern over the fact none of the other clans seemed to care about the disappearance of the moon. Why on earth would they be so accepting of the fact a deity on par with the Sun God was simply gone? The Sun and the Moon were the representatives of balance in their land... without the moon how was their home safe from being destroyed? The cool winds of the night flooded around the reddish brown tom as he turned his green eyed gaze towards the star filled sky, "Where are you... you made it so I was chosen as Deputy of this clan, was it simply to watch it get destroyed? Tell me, why do you leave me to wonder the destiny of my clan!?"
Hearing nothing but silence, the tom sighed appearing tired. Talking was all he could do, he wasn't a medicine cat and he couldn't reach out for spiritual guidance. All he could do is look insane yowling at the moonless sky demanding answers for questions he would have to wait to find.

Stonewatcher's expression appeared conflicted, almost as if conflicted upon whether or not to open up to the leader. To this day the tom still didn't understand why he had been chosen by the new leader to be his deputy, especially given Silverstar seemed to get along better with other cats. Was it because the tom wasted no time in questioning Silverstar's decision making even before the leader was made a deputy? The two cats never got along when they were young, in fact Stonewatcher went as far as seeing the leader as his rival back during their time as apprentices.
"There was a time where I would be the one to cause you trouble, now here you are coming to consul me..." the deputy murmured under his breath, a drawn out sign escaping his lips. "It feels like yesterday we were racing through this forest competing over who would catch the most prey in an effort to win over our mentors' favor."
The silver tom let out a slight chuckle, reminiscing on his younger days. "Yeah it really hasnt been that long." A look of concern crossed his face as he sat next to his deputy. "You seem troubled," he commented noticing the look on the tom's face. "Does it have to do with where the Moon has gone?" He himself was wondering the same thing. He wouldnt abandon them, he knew for sure. They're encounter at the Crescent Rock guaranteed that. But this absence was unannounced and worrying.

"It's less about the moon and more about DayClan and SunClan's reaction to it," he spoke with a mild growl, "You have to wonder what they would think if the Sun had disappeared! You wouldn't see me getting all happy about the sun disappearing! We all should know the Moon and Sun bring balance to each other, for all we know one cannot even exist without the other."
He tilted his head from side to side. "I can understand that. But you know, they're taking whatever they can get ay this point. They know who the superior being is," he said jokingly, trying to lighten the mood. "But in all seriousness though, the moon will be back soon enough."

For a moment Stonewatcher hesistated. In all honesty he had not been as much of a believer as he made himself out to be up until the point he was made deputy. The reasoning was mainly because if the moon god had not wished him to be deputy, why else would Silverstar have chose him? Plus with the addition of the moon's disappearance well... let's just say denying at this point would simply be a case of utter denial. "How could you be so sure? When will it be coming back and why did it disappear in the first place?"
"I can feel it in my paws," Silverstar responded. "The sun can't exist without its counterpart or else an ancient balance wil be thrown off. Why he left, I'm afraid I cant say, but believe he will return tomorrow night." His tail lashed in deep thought. Since the Moon and Silverstar were essentially one in the same, it was only right for him to reaffirm his followers.

Stonewatcher's whisker's twitched before shaking his head and sighing, "I kind of wish you reassured me with a more definitive answer. Some cats do prefer something a little less cryptic then 'I can feel it in my paws,'" he spoke with mild annoyance. Standing up, he approached Silverstar with a gentle pat of his paw to the forehead, "Mousebrain. If your clan heard something as ridiculous as that they would simply doubt you. If you don't know own it, but reassure them that you will be there to pick up the pieces and there will be a tomorrow for them all."
Silverstar shrugged sheepishly, giving Stonewatcher an apologetic smile. "Even if I say I dont know, they would still doubt me, so it's a lose-lose. But of course, I'll do what I can to be more reassuring in a way that makes sense." He shrugged. "You do know that me and the Moon God are closer than you think, right?" he asked. "For the most part, things I say or do are under his purview, so being without him is a bit...difficult."

['purrview' Was that a pun XD]
"Well that's why I find the opinion of cats in front of you seems a bit more reliable," he spoke, his gaze shifting to gaze towards the trees who gently shifted in the breeze, "That's why you can rely on me you know, I'm not exactly going anywhere anytime soon... or at least I do not intend too." Looking back in his leader he grinned mildly as he added, "Someone's got to be here to continue questioning your actions oh-wise-one since at times even the Moon God lacks some judgement."
Silverstar chuckled. "Of course you're not going anywhere anytime soon," he said as he gently jabbed the tom with his paw, "So that means dont go dying on me. But, yeah, thank you for taking on the position." He grinned widely as he spoke his next words. "I know it mus be so hard to be the subordinate of someone you thought was your inferior!"

"Last time I checked I've been your subordinate since you were deputy," he pointed out quickly, nudging him casually, "Let's just say I allow you to be the superior one because I don't quite feel like taking on the leadership responsibility all that much quite yet. Be careful though, if I feel you are slacking enough I may all into question your leadership." His tone was lighthearted and friendly just as it always was with the tom, something he only showed to very few cats including Silverstar himself... however, no one could deny the slight hint of a promise in his voice. Stonewatcher was a dependable cat who would always be reliable in just about any situation... but he would always stand up for what he believed in, Silverstar knew that much.
"That is true, but that does sound a lot like a challenge, Stonewatcher," he said eyeing the tom for a moment before breaking out into a fit of laughter. "The Moon God chose me for this role, but if he deems you better suited, I will gladly relinquish the title," he said after regaining his composure. "Do you know what he and I expect from you? In his eyes, he sees us as a pair that will bring much needed change to MoonClan and make it stronger. I wholeheartedly believe that."

"I promise, you'll always know when I'm challenging you. You should know that by now when others were challenging you for that deputy position. I still cannot believe I was the first to stick up for you and without a second thought despite our rivalry for all these moons... Let's just say I don't have the heart to watch the weak get trambled on."
The tom remained quiet for a few moments, seeming to cling onto each of the words his leader spoke. "Well with you serving as the approachable compassionate rolemodel and myself as the tactical genius with a chip on his shoulder, I won't deny we've always served as proper representatives for our Clan," he spoke simply, his expression lost in thought for a moment. For a moment he hesistated on his next question, looking to Silverstar only when he was sure he wanted an answer, "Do you think we may have to result to war at some point with SunClan and DayClan...? Has the Moon God indicated any wish to battle his brother the Sun God?"
He shook his head. "No, I dont think so. But, if the Moon God sees it as a necessary task to carry out, then to battle we go. I know that SunClan and their god aren't against violence, but I believe they can be reasoned with. If all else, I think that Glowstar could be talked to at least eliminate one enemy from the fight. The Moon God ins't a malevolent being. For the most part, he tries to keep us out of it; the Sun God doesn't care who is involved." He looked down for a moment. "If it does come to war, should we gather allies? I've heard that a group called the Renegade Regime dislikes SunClan. Shall we make a visit?"

"I would be wise to send a messenger group to them just to get them prepared, we don't want to seem like we are aiming to start the war, just simply making them away that it could be unavoidable. We'll want to make sure we have all our resources prepared to go so we don't get blindsided...do you think NightClan can be relied upon should the need arise?"
He nodded once. "That is true. NightClan? I dont know about them. I havent talked to any cat from that clan yet, so I dont know what they're like. It wouldn't hurt to send a group there too." Maybe. He sighed. Thinking of war made him extremely anxious. He didnt hold anything against former leaders, but it seem like they left him with a clan that was on the brink of collapse. Despite that though, he was confident that he could rebuild and better relations. He turned to his deputy. "What day you?"

"I think it would be wise for either you or I to visit NightClan personally as they are our immediate neighbors. For Regime I would expect it to be either I or one of the senior warriors depending on whether or not you will be okay with me gone during my travel. Either way I do not think the leader right now should remain outside our territory for very long so I do believe you should not make that journey. I also believe if you chose to go to NightClan yourself you take a senior warrior and possibly the medicine cat apprentice with you."
"Maybe, maybe," he said considering the options. "This doesnt have to be an immediate thing. We can wait a few days or at least until our deity comes back. He may have give some guidance to us on what to do." But I cant always depending him for that. I've got to think for myself. Think, 'streak, think!I think I should be fine taking a trip or two. Besides, I think some clans dont know that I lead MoonClan now and what better way to introduce myself than to do it personally?"
