@peepingpeeper
Oh, StarClan, this heat will be the death of me, she let out a barely audible growl. Mulberryfrost felt the warmth of the sun stick to her firmly, even when she weaved under the shade of trees. She silently cursed her black fur. It really wasn't helpful for hunting among the white abyss of WinterClan, and in the hot weather, it absorbed the sun's stare. Mulberryfrost panted, licking around her lips. She could feel the saliva dry around it. Ugh.
In the distance, there was a sound that made her heart nearly stop. The gentle trickling of water. A river, perhaps? The she-cat rushed forward, rushing through the trees. The land began to tilt downward and she found herself going too fast, until all she knew was her surroundings, spinning. She tumbled, feeling herself hit the ground just inches away from the river. The pain was overcome quickly by the returning sensation of thirst as she inched forward to lap at the surface with her tongue.
She paused to breathe. There was still a hint of pain surging through her chin. That's just what you get for going places you're not meant to be.

Why did the universe hate him so much? Honestly, this weather was so unbearable it felt like he was going to drop dead any second.
Bout time you lost your first life.
Apparently so, StarClan had decided when they sent this monstrosity know as heat. Shadedstar sighed, casting his gaze to the sky as if cursing his ancestors. Which is exactly what he was doing. His thick black fur didn’t help him one bit, actually it was the root of all his problems. Shaking out his coat, pointless really, he continued on his way. A nice drink would help. A cold, refreshing drink. Regaining a slight spring in his step—one he thought he had lost some time ago—he found himself feeling happy. Strangely. Maybe he got heat stroke, because there was no way he should be feeling this joyful. But, he liked it. Loved it. It felt like he was flying and he didn’t know why and he loved it!
Bouncing along, his head held high, he encountered a small river that cut through his territory and beyond. Perfect! Having half the mind to just throw himself in the water, he instead settled to sitting beside it. As soon as his tongue reached the water he immediately felt refreshed. It was cool and delicious down his throat. Drinking until it hurt his throat, he sat straight just in time to see another feline take quite a nasty tumble. He didn’t recognize her. Tilting his head, he stood up.
”Uh? Hello?” Despite how his heart sped up at this new intruder, the excitement of meeting someone knew stirred in his stomach. “You alright there?”

She was desperately lapping it up. She didn't even notice the leader's arrival until he spoke. Her first reaction was perhaps not so graceful at meeting the tom. She looked at him with cold slitted green eyes and parted her lips in an exasperated hiss. The water dripped down her chin, in which she also attempted to lick up.
Calm yourself, now. You're not a savage.
She pulled away from the surface and took a breath, realizing she hadn't paused to breathe since she reached the river. Mulberryfrost's gaze rested on the other again, this time really seeing him.
"Shadedstar?" She blinked, though tried her best not to give away her surprise. There was a slight increase in her heart beat now. She recognized the tom from a few gatherings in the past. She just had to pray the word of her being there didn't reach her clan.
A little taken aback by the molly’s initial reaction, Shadedstar tilted his head at her curiously. Looking her over, Shadedstar sat just at the riverbank, trying to look at least somewhat professional in this blasted heat. “That’s my name,” he laughed a little awkwardly, kneading the dirt under his paws. Shrinking his head deeper within the safety of his chest fluff and cherry blossom necklace. “Uh—hi? Are you alright?” He asked again, twitching his tail in curiosity. “What’s your name?” He wondered if his questions were too much—but he did need some answers. Not mentioning that she was, in fact, trespassing on SpringClan territory, he let a nervous smile grow on his face.

Well now, there was some sort of mixture of panic somewhere in her chest, but the heat made it hard to focus. "My name," she echoed, almost unable to register his words. She came to the realization soon. She wasn't just going to hand her identity over to the leader. If the tom talked to Leatherstar, what was she going to do? "...Frozenberry," she told him. She started to feel heat under her fur, different from that of the sun baking her alive. "I'm just thirsty."
