Beetleflight's ears were flattened against his head, eyes wide as he watched the monster get smaller and smaller till it was completely out of sight behind a tree. "Echomelody," He whispered brokenly. He felt empty where his heart should've been. He should've done something to save her rather than stand by... But he couldn't fight off twolegs.
A lump rose in his throat as Larkwing said they'd need to report this, what good would reporting it do? They couldn't stop twolegs. If they could Echomelody would've never been taken.

Spiderfang moved forward and pressed his nose up against his brother''s cheek "Yes, but perhaps we can track the monster? at least figure out where they are headed. Echomelody is not the first cat to be taken..."
"We would never keep up with it" Larkwing mewed with sympathy. Then, his eyes lit up as an idea struck him. "But I think I know how to find out where they went. With Burningstar's approval, we may be able to assemble a rescue patrol. You are right. Echomelody is not the first cat to go missing and she wont be the last until we end this. But we need to find out where they are going and I think I have an idea. As long as Burningsrar agrees, we would need a bait. Someone to purposely trap themselves in a cage. They will be loaded up into the monster. That is when the rescue patrol jumps in with them and we ride the monster to wherever they are keeping our clanmates." Just the thought of being that close to a monster, let alone ride it, made him want to shudder in fear but he would do anything to rescue his clanmates.
