From a distance, it merely looked like the Combatant had taken a moment away from her hunt to take a sip from the Escomb Channel. This was no strange sight, and typical of the cats who found the water's taste agreeable. However, those that were observant might have noticed the distinct lack of actual drinking the she cat was doing. Instead, she seemed to take in her reflection carefully, contemplatively. 

It was something that, typically, Chiharu avoided. There was always a pronounced yet indescribable feeling - akin only to unease mixed deja vu - that overcame her whenever she got a good, long look at herself. Perhaps it was the nearly forgotten memories of her mother playing at her mind, after all, despite knowing her for such a short amount of time, it seemed that fate had gifted her with an appearance that was all but identical to the she cat, among other less physical traits they shared. At least, that was what was told to her, though as young as she was when her mother had disappeared from her life she had no way of knowing it for sure. Yet it seemed that when others looked at her they saw more of her mother than they ever saw of her, for better or worse. 

With a decisive flick of her tail, the bengal she cat turned away from the slow current of the artificial river. Pondering on appearances and the murky past seemed a waste of time, when it seemed the present was constantly ticking by. Besides, she could smell the soft scent of mouse tint the air nearby.
