Lightningpaw didn't like her apprenticeship. In fact, she downright hated it. She hadn't even met her spirit guide yet, and she was slowly starting to believe she never would. SunClan was right. StarClan was useless and these cats didn't care about her. Why else was she not chosen as an emissary? It was the only logical conclusion for a she-cat who relied so heavily on religion as her. She'd done everything right, tried to work through what she'd been told were lies, only for what? To be empty pawed, to be an apprentice without spiritual guidance?
She scowled as she walked through the territory, mumbling angrily to herself. She was one of the stronger apprentices, and for cats who were normal apprentices, she was second only to Glowstar's son, Cinnamonpaw. Of course, he was significantly older than he ought to be, so it made sense.

"Lighteningpaw!" The loud call came from somewhere behind and was shortly followed by a grunt as a solid grey tom rolled out of the undergrowth, once again his paws had failed him and like always he tripped over nothing. Laying flat on the ground covered in dust and broken leaves he looked up at the other apprentice embarrassment reddening his ears. "H-hey, what are you up to?" n his flustered state his words came out with a slight stutter, still lying on the ground he continued to look at Lighteningpaw waiting for her answer.

"None of your business." Her tone was snappy and sharp as she glared at the tom who had literally fallen into her path. She seemed irritated more than anything by his presence, and really, just wanted him to go away.

Cricketpaw flattened his ears for a moment, his smile faltering at the she-cats hard tone but he quickly recovered. Getting back to his paws and shaking out his thick grey fur to dislodge the dust caught in it he let his blue gaze fall steadily upon her. "Are you okay?" Worry flowed through his words, he hadn't spoken much to Lighteningpaw before and only knew that she and her siblings had been taken by Foxstar before being returned to DayClan. He didn't put much thought into it though.
