Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She didn't mean to do it. An unusual sentiment for a League cat. But she really hadn't. Of course she was familiar with the feel of blood on her claws - her mother never would've let her get away with training safely for the punishment district - but it had never been this much. The fur between her toes was thick with the stuff as she stared down at the limp shape. Just some passing rogue who strayed too far this side of the border. She would've ignored him, but the hiss of Raven and the insistent mew of Corvus had echoed in her head until she couldn't think. So she had confronted him, telling him that he had to leave. And then he leaped.
She had only stared in terror as the big tom attacked, but for once she was fortunate that she wasn't alone. Raven reacted, using the young resident's claws with deadly precision. And now Corax was left with the mess. No other League cat would begrudge her for this, but that didn't stop a choked cry from rising, unbidden, in her throat. Two cats. This made two cats who had lost their life by her. And to think she once thought she could be different from the bloodthirsty creatures she called Leaguemates.

She hadn't mean to see, to witness this. Her working Internal Affairs meant she had to keep an eye on everyone. She thought it'd be fun to tail the cat who talked to her on the stairs all that time ago. It felt like forever since she last saw Corax. She just wanted to chat, that's all. Not see this, become involved in this. It wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it obviously bothered Corax. The smell of blood stung her nose, familiar and harsh. She had to do something.
"C-Corax?" A weak mew was let out before a small shape appeared out of the brush. It was the small figure of Brilliance-chan. She held her breath, not wanting to draw too close or leave Corax alone. Instead, a lone memory popped into her head and she smiled, "Wanna cash in that help I offered you so long ago?"
Watching from the treeline, Eshek felt herself soften with sympathy. Poor little thing, she thought, the voice inside her head as gentle and quiet as her heart was at that moment. She always has been too good for a place like this. She watched as Brilliance-chan padded over to Corax before following, mindful to keep her pawsteps light and her expression soft to avoid spooking the young she-cat. “Hey,” the proxy greeted gently, brushing past Brilliance-chan to sit beside Corax. She touched her flank with her tail-tip, ducking her head to try and catch her eye and offering a small, harmless smile.
She hardly felt the blood sticking to her paw-pads, didn’t spare the mangled corpse a second glance; it was a stranger, and it was a male, and so she really didn’t care. “We’ve all done a lot worse. I can help, too,” she added, acknowledging Brilliance-chan’s offer with a flick of her tail but never taking her eyes from Corax, “if you don’t want anyone to find out. There’s no shame in that.”
