Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The gentle sounds of a nearby stream would be the only sound that filled the air except the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind. A young tom would pad along the water alone, his emerald gaze focused and ears quickly shifted towards even the most miniscule of sounds. His nearly blind eye only saw minor figures and shapes, but still managed to witness a familar shape running towards him. "I can see you there...Or at least sort of. Don't think approaching my bad eye keeps you completely hidden," he spoke with an amused expression.

"Can no one make it past you?" she teased as Silverwake ducked out of the shadows of the protective brush on his blind side. She had found herself spending more time with this tom since she had become a warrior. Her time seeming to be wide open when not patrolling or focusing on a hunt. The borders seemed peaceful too. "Are you busy?" she asked hope escaping in the tone of her voice.

"I mean if you count walking on my own along the border by myself as being terribly busy, then I'm sorry I am," he teased her, batting her ear gently with his paw. It didn't feel very long ago when he watched her receive her warrior name, the tom admiring her determinatuon and natural sense of grace she seemed to carry when doing her best to keep up with the older cats. Now here she was seeking him out as his equal. To a degree he felt some pride know she was his clanmate... Shaking head he stiffled a little grin, "I don't suppose you're doing something at the moment?"

"Just thought maybe you would want to escort me to peek into a fox den I found." she seemed giddy at the idea of walking into a potentially dangerous situation but not stupid enough to go alone. "I was hunting rabbits near the river and it ducked into a big whole that smelled of fox. A little stale though maybe since last night." she meowed reassuringly. Not mentioning that the fox could be back any time though. She blinked big crystal blue eyes. "Will you go with me pleaaaaaseeee?" she half begged as she bumped his shoulder encouragingly. He was the first cat that came to mind to explore it with her when she found the den.

Riverdapple smiled kindly, his heart not quite leading him in the right place as he found himself enraptured by those beautiful blue eyes of hers. Normally the tom would be more responsible, taking the effort to approach the clan about the den in case of danger and gather more cats to handle the creature. The scent is stale, surely I can have faith in Silverwake's judgment....
"Alright then, lead the way but the moment we scent fresh fox we need to go right away," he spoke calmly before stepping closer to the she-cat with a worried expression, "If a fox does appear, I want you to get away as quick as possible and warn someone. I'll do my best to follow but my biggest concern is making sure you are safe... Will you do that for me?"

She looked up at him. Her whiskers twitching as her stubbornness started to rise for a response. She shoved it away. "Yes I can do that." she meowed reluctantly. Though she knew full well if something like a fox were to show up the last thing she would do would be leaving Riverdapple to fight it off alone. "Lets just be extra careful to avoid it all together." she purred trying to lighten the mood a little. "Besides, I think we will have a perfectly boring exploration into the fox den and return home smelling terrible." she purred at her jest as she began padding towards the river bank where she had seen the den.

"We better not, some of the older cats will throw a fit if we return home smelling of fox," he spoke mildly nudging her with his shoulder. Watching her lead the way as he walked at her side made part of him feel both relaxed and free. All he could ever need is that smile, for seeing it gave him the strength superior of all of StarClan. "Taking some time to roll around in some grass should help lighten the scent should we both need too."

"Or I could accidentally shove you into the river." she teased nudging him back with her own shoulder. Her pelt brushing his as she padded. She liked this. The ability to enjoy this time with Riverdapple without feeling the stress of responsibility. "I can smell the den." she meowed a few moments later her pace slowing as they neared. Her ears angling forward as the rivers lazy rippling was heard.

"Well from my understanding it matches my namesake pretty well, plus you know me I don't really mind the swim too much believe it or not," the tom replied gingerly, noticing their closeness and only pulling away when she spoke of the den. His expression grew more concentrated, seeming to switch off his carefree self to a more responsible EarthClan Warrior. "We should both circle around the back of it and meet at the front, just to make sure there are no secondary entrances were anything can sneak up on us," he suggested, surprisingly calm considering upon closer inspection, the scent of fox seemed to smell a little more fresh than he would have anticipated. It was fairly likely they may have only just missed the creature.

"Alright. Ill head around this way." she said motioning with her tail to the right side of the den. Her own expression seemed a little more leery than it had seconds before. Had she carelessly lead them both into a trap? If there was only one entrance, and they went in, would the fox block their only way out? Worry ebbed at her nerves causing her tail to lash in response. She crept around the den's entrance her mouth parted to take in any scents she could, but the reek of fox was stronger than it had been before. Every sense in her told her to get Riverdapple and run.

Riverdapple's ears shifted from side to side as he looked around his perimeter moving in a path around the left side of the den. It was quiet, no scent seeming to fill the area except for the one from with the den. It seemed the two cats were lucky he figured not noting any signs of a secondary den entrance. Surprisingly enough he made it around the den with no trouble, taking a moment to sit while waiting for Silvergaze to meet him.
It must have been larger around her side, I likely should have walked that way...
A sudden snap towards his blind spot immediately alarmed him, causing the tom to jump backwards and his fiery ginger fur to spike up in warning. In front of him was the fox, its yellow eyes staring directly at the cat who deemed it its prey. Riverdapple wasn't about to let this fox attempt to go after him or any other of his clan-mates, letting out a hiss the tom would swipe at the fox's face, the creature letting out a yelp before jumping and attempting to pin Riverdapple between its paws. The tom managed to wiggle barely out of the way, seemed to manage avoiding getting crushed under its weight.

At the sounds of a fight, Silverwake rounded the den to see Riverdapple sideswiping the fox. She snarled and leapt at its back. Her claws in her front and back paws gripping its thick coat as she dug in. Her jaws locking on the back of its neck. She hissed as it tried to toss her off. If she could act as a hefty distraction, Riverdapple might be able to get in a few good swipes and send the creature running. Her tail lashed behind her as she tried to maintain her balance on the wriggling fox. Its stink making her eyes water.

Riverdapple didn't hesitate, the tom rushing up as the fox was distracted by the cat on it's back and taking the chance to circle around and claw it's muzzle furiously. The fox yelped in pain as it's efforts to kick off the shecat grew more intense, especially when Riverdapple managed to circle around again and deliver another scatch to one of its eyes. The fox then cried out shaking its head rapidly to try to clear the blood from its side before attempting to flee with the she-cat still holding onto it.
"Silvergaze let go!" Riverdapple cried out going after the creature.

Silverwake sheathed her claws and leapt from the fox's back clumsily. Her direction miscalculated as she hit the ground, tumbled over a few times, and slid to rest against the base of a tree. Dazed she lifted her silver tabby head to watch the fox darting away. Leaving nothing but the evidence of a recent fight and the rustling of leaves behind. Her fur laying flat as the sense of danger dissipated Silverwake allowed her head to rest on the roots of the tree as she caught her breath. Her side aching from where she slid across the dirt and her forepaw throbbing because of her failed landing. "We did it." she breathed.

Riverdapple rushed over to her side, curling up around her worriedly and giving her cheek a few furious licks, "Are you alright?" he fretted, his expression full of concern as he sniffed her fur, "Are you hurt anywhere? Did the fox get you at all?!"

She purred at his attention and nuzzled her head under his chin affectionately. "A little achy but nothing you can't sooth just by being here." she purred surprised by her open honesty. "Maybe a dip int he water to help with swelling. I think the worst of it is a twisted paw. My clumsy self couldn't manage the landing form the fox." she sighed as she leaned against him. His thick pelt much more comfortable than the rough tree. "Thank you for scaring off the fox."

Riverdapple nuzzled the she-cat, taking a moment to breath in her scent, "I don't know what I would have done if I had lost you...", he whispered under her breath just loud enough for her. Feeling her body against his own brought him to a state of bliss, the warrior wishing for nothing more than to remain snuggled against her just like this. Reluctantly he stood nudging her to her feet, "Come on, let's go ahead and head to the river to sooth your paw. We'll want to have a medicine cat look at it as soon as we return to camp... are you able to stand?"

Shifting in her position she managed to bring herself to her feet. The pain of her paw covered neatly by the warmth of his concern and words. To think a simple day turned into such magic. "Yes I am fine. Lets just get out of here before it tries to come back. We should probably report it too." she meowed but the fox was already far enough away from her thoughts to nearly be a forgotten memory. She leaned into Riverdapples shoulder for support as she began to hobble towards the water she could hear not far off.

Riverdapple watched her hobble against her as he lead the way towards the river, "It's hard to believe I'm a forest cat with the amount of swimming I do, I am surprise not too many have given me nicknames for doing so," he joked a little, doing his best to maintain a conversation to pull her mind away from discomfort, "You should know that there may be a future with lots of swimming lessons for me especially when I start taking on more apprentices... I could always teach you too if you want..."

Her ears perked up as the reached the bank. "I would love that! Lets start now!" she purred "Oh and maybe I can come up with a nickname for you." she giggled. Humor returning back to her pale eyes. "I tolerate it but I don't think I have spent much time in water aside from a pass through or a quick wash." she commented as she peered into the swirling shallows.
