@hinata
Her feathery black tail swished as she stalked towards the apprentice's den. She had been told about this apprentice and insisted on training her after learning who her former mentor was. She ducked her head into the apprentices den and searched through the darkness for the young she-cat. "Frozenpaw, it's time to train." She spoke, her rumbling voice filling the den easily. She stepped back out and waited with her tail wrapped around her massive paws. She was interested to learn what Riverwolf passed on to this apprentice.

She had decided to act depressed. The best course was feigning ignorance to her former mentor's actions. Meanwhile, she would be able to continue doing as she pleased, and Riverstar would be the one to receive the blame if she was ever caught. After all, she was far too young to do anything wrong of her own free will. So when Tuskblood came barging into the den declaring it was time to train, she would continue her little game. The she-cat hiding a wicked smile within the darkness of the den before pushing herself to her paws and acting as if she had to drag herself out of bed. The smile that was there before she appeared before the deputy now gone and replaced with a frown.
"You're not my mentor."
She mumbled out with her fur bristling and her ears pressed against her skull. Her claws sliding out and sinking into the dirt in an attempt to make her anger clear.

"Is that so?"
Tuskblood's voice was unsympathetic. The jet black deputy was not the type to go easy on anyone, especially the young ones. They needed to learn eventually to toughen up and accept the challenges of life. Her tail thumped impatiently against the ground for a moment before she snorted. "Alright then. I guess I'll just leave you here and you can train yourself, angry one." She got up and swished her tail across the stony ground. "Just remember who is accessing you."
The thought caused a smirk to curl on her muzzle briefly before she lifted up her face with a look of panic spread across it. "W-Wait up!" She stammered before chasing after Tuskblood and following the deputy's tail. If she walked beside her she'd appear too eager. There was a silence between them and it became increasingly clear that Tuskblood wasn't going to talk first.
"So... what are we doing today?" She finally asked. Her voice not sounding excited at all, but instead rather bummed. After all, the outward Frozenpaw was supposed to seem like she was being forced to come, while on the inside the apprentice couldn't wait to see how this newly appointed deputy could spare.

She was unaware of the smirk that crossed the young cat's muzzle, but there was definitely something odd about her. Tuskblood figured it was simply the shock of her first mentor turning out to be some traitorous rat. Maybe a part of her didn't trust her new mentor? Who knows?
Her long whiskers twitched slightly in amusement as Frozenpaw trailed after her. Interesting little bird. She looked back at the brown and white cat with peaked interest. However, it was gone as quickly as it came. The silence stretched on for a while until the apprentice spoke up again. It must make her uncomfortable. Tuskblood thought to herself before letting her ears twitch at the question. "A test." She answered shortly, not bothering to look back again. "I need to see what you know."
She almost let out a chuckle, but instead just let another smirk appear on the face followed by a shake of her head. A test? She had been tested her whole life. The minute her eyes opened her parents were testing her intelligence, her strength, and her ability to lead. What could this deputy test her on that she hadn't already been tested on? Then again, it wasn't like Tuskblood knew her background. She didn't know about the hours her father made her run while he chased them through the forest. She didn't know about the hidden rule that if you were caught, then you better prepared to fight or you were dead by his claws. She didn't know about the hunting trips where she better come back with 50 pieces of prey or be prepared for a few scars. She didn't know about the unsheathed training sessions where she was forced to mortally wound her siblings. No, Tuskblood knew very little about her, and she planned to keep it this way.
"A test? What kind of test? I hope I pass..." She trailed off as if she was worried she wouldn't. After all, Waterclan apprentice Frozenpaw surely wasn't expecting a test.

Tuskblood glanced back at the apprentice, taking note that she seemed a bit skittish. The black deputy swished her tail against the ground and turned towards the bank of the lake. “More of an assessment. I want to see what skills Riverwolf taught you. That is, if he taught you anything.” She snorted with a shake of her head. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to go crazy on you and try and take over the whole earth. I don’t have the patience for that.”
Oh, so this is what this about. She wants to make sure that Riverstar hasn't poisoned the youth. Well, little does she know that I've been tainted my whole life.
The thought brought a smirk to her face that quickly vanished as she puffed her cheeks out in annoyance. "Riverstar taught me plenty! I'll pass any assessment you throw at me to prove that!" Frozenpaw yelled out in protest as she continued to jog after the she-cat. She needed to keep up this charade of being a brainwashed apprentice up, at least for now, plus this gave her a reason to fall back on to continue her usual habits. How could anyone blame a poor impressionable apprentice for misbehavior when she was trained by a literal demon? She felt her paws tingle at the prospect of one of the assessments being a mock fight. How she wanted nothing more then to take her claws and swipe them across this deputy's face, the one who acted mightier then her when she really knew little about the world compared to Frozenpaw despite being older. Tuskblood would scold her, maybe even place her on elder duty for a week as punishment, and she would look at her with wide eyes brimming with tears, insisting that this was how they were supposed to fight when practicing. After all, Riverstar and her always used their claws when practicing.
