@peepingpeeper only please ^^
The mid-day sun seeped into her dark calico pelt as Brambleblossom weaved in and out of the brush and flowers. The sweet scent of them making her purr absentmindedly. While she usually preferred to hunt with a partner, she hadn't been able to catch anyone to join her on her way out of camp. She was in an unexpectedly good mood today as she padded softly along. Her ears pricked and jaws parted to taste the air. Her water blue gaze soft and expectant.

Today had been a good day of doing—well—not much. He’d fallen asleep soon after he woke up that morning and had just woken up again, somewhat embarrassed. He was a leader, he wasn’t suppose to be sleeping all day! So, he had gotten off of his lazy behind and do some hunting. Provide for his Clan and all that jazz. He went to head out, catching sight of Brambleblossom on her way out. He picked up his pace.
”Hey! Brambleblossom! Mind if I join you?” He asked, finally catching up to her.

Shaken from the quiet cavern of her mind she stopped for a few heartbeats to allow Shadedstar to walk beside her. "Afternoon!" she purred in greeting taking note with a flick of humor from her ear at the sleep still in his gaze. "I would love your company. It seems the clan is bustling this morning. I could barely get a word in to invite anyone to come with me. Sure glad you were still in camp to see me leave all alone. Hunting is always better with a partner." she purred. When she did so her blue eyes squinted as if against a bright light. "Where do you suppose the prey is running?" she meowed. She clamped her mouth shut realizing she had barely allowed the tom to speak since his original greeting. She noticed int he few conversations they had had he seemed to do that to her. Turn her mind and strict focus into a bee's hive.
He chuckled. “Definitely, I’m not much of a ‘hunting alone’ fan.” ” Shadedstar purred, a little spring in his step. His thick black pelt soaked in the sun, heating him to a somewhat unbearable degree. This is why he didn’t like summer, it was way too hot for him. “There are loads of rabbits near the cherry blossoms, and afterwards we can by the river for a drink.” He suggested, already making his way to the cherry blossoms.
”I’ll race ya?” He suggested, speeding up slightly.

"Eeep!" she squeaked as he quickened his pace. She skidded a bit as she dug in her claws to try to gain some traction to catch up. Her frame and legs significantly smaller and shorter than his. Truely an unfair race. Yet she laughed as she raced behind him knowing full well she wasn't going to win. The cherry blossoms were one of her favorite places int he territory. While squirrels and rabbits were plentiful, she loved to look up into the branches as a breeze blew by and rained down petals. It was like nothing else. "You're way too fast for me!" called up to him only a few tail lengths ahead of her.
He sped up a little, slowly but surely running out of breath. His stamina was never the greatest. He slowed down a bit once they were near the cherry blossoms, breathing in the scent of them. "Trust me, SpringClan has way faster cats. I'm more of a walker than a runner, really." Shadedstar purred, sitting down to run his tongue through his chest fur. "Com'on, let's check over here, there's a burrow I think."

"I'm more a short distance sprinter." she purred. Following his gesture to the hollow she padded closer to his side but keeping space as to not invade his personal bubble. Although she wondered what such fluffy fur felt like in SpringClan's warm season. She suddenly stopped short and flicked her tail towards a patch of clover. "There!" she sharp whispered to him lowering her frame as to not be so easily spotted by the plump rabbit.
He crept up beside her, his thick pelt mixing with hers. “I’ll block its burrow in case it tries to run.” He whispered, stalking away. His eyes pierced the surroundings, finding the little hole a bit further away. Shadedstar jumped and, almost silently, landed in front of it, unsheathing his claws in preparation. He really did like hunting with others.

Brambleblossom tensed ready for action. The rabbit seemed to freeze for a moment as Shadedstar's sudden appearance. Then like it had seen a ghost darted away. Right towards Brambleblossom. She arched her back ready to deal the final blow when the rabbit suddenly veered off to the side. "Oh no!" She meowed as she pushed to try to catch it. She felt hot embarrassment seep across her face.
He chased after it for a few heartbeats, stopping as it continued to get farther away. “Hey, it’s okay! It’s just a rabbit, there’s plenty more.” He pressed into her shoulder with the top of his head before he stood, towering, beside her. “We could try the forest, there’s bound to be lots of prey there.” He suggested.

Glad to have a mottled calico pelt to hide the burning heat on her cheeks, Brambleblossom sighed in disappointment. "Yeah your right." she forced herself to perk up a bit and batted at his shoulder playfully. "I bet I could climb better than your burly self and catch a squirrel!" she teased turning to pad towards the thicker variety of trees. Its canopy welcoming for her darker pelt. She looks back over her shoulder, blue eyes scanning him. Her heart gave a little squeeze. Was he just nice to her? She looked away ear twitching giving away her thoughts. "If I was a squirrel which tree would I be in." she mused allowed.
He headed off after her, “I can barely climb trees at all! I’d probably break it.” He laughed, “but I’ll try.” He gazed up at the treetops, sorting through the branches for any signs of tree prey. The canopy of leaves casted a refreshing shadow, cooling him off a bit. His ears perked for any noise, he heard the nearby call of a bird. Scanning the area, he caught it resting itself on a somewhat thick branch not too high up. “Well, it’s not a squirrel,” he purred, going to the base of the trunk and digging his front claws into the bark. Shadedstar slowly, cautiously, scooted up the trunk, struggling to hold himself up. His weight was not meant for climbing.
Trying to be as silent as possible, he made his way up to the kind of low branch and passed it by one branch, balancing himself as best as he could. He hasn’t climbed a tree since he was with Doestar. The large tom prepared himself and jumped down, taking the bird within his claws whilst trying to balance on the branch with his other legs. That didn’t work too well, and as a result he slipped and fell off the branch, tumbling to the ground below. It hurt, of course it did, but not enough to be serious.
“I’m fine.” He looked and found the bird lying just beside him, twitching and calling out. He pulled it close and put it out of its misery. “Still got it.”

Brambleblossom had been watching him intently. Her blue eyes fearful when he had slipped she rushed over to him frantically. "Are you okay!?" she asked just as he had said he was fine. Forgetting her place and that this cat wasn't just a tom but her leader she began to frantically poke and prod him with her nose searching his thick black pelt for any signs of injury. "You ridiculously silly tom!" she exclaimed apparently still forgetting her place. "You could have been seriously hurt! And it would have been my fault! I would have never have been able to get over that if my teasing got you hurt!" she whimpered a little still unconvinced that he was okay. "Where do you hurt?" she prodded.
He laughed a good, genuine laugh at the molly’s worry. “Oh I’m fine, really.” He got to his paws, feeling a pain in his left foot. Not too much, but just enough to be bothersome. “I may have landed on my paw a bit wrong, but it’ll be fine.” He plucked a few feathers from his catch, spitting them out onto the ground. It was just a blackbird, nothing too special about its feathers. “We can give these to the kits.” He commented before picking up his prey. “It wouldn’t be your fault, it was my choice.” He looked back up at the tree, in which the branch was cracked and hanging. “I forgot how much I don’t like heights.”

She sighed letting out the tension in her shoulders. "You are going to be the death of me aren't you Shadedstar?" she meowed, the humor returning to her voice. She nodded at the feathers. "I think they would like that." she agreed. She narrowed her eyes at his paw that he was putting less pressure on. "Im no medicine cat but I do know a few things. Wait right here. Ill be right back." she meowed trotting off before he could protest.
Returning a few moments later with dirt clinging to her paws and a root in her jaws she used her claws to hold the root as she tore off one of its tendrils. She chewed it up and gestured for him to lift his paw. Pressing the small poultice to his paw she smoothed it into the large pad and joint. "Comfrey root." she meowed with a shy smile. "I wretched a claw a few moons ago and this is what they gave me. I helped ease the pain but it won't completely heal it. I think you just sprained your paw thought. It might be good to stop by the medicine cat's den when we get back." she purred softly as she set his paw back down.
“Maybe.” He chuckled, his whiskers twitching. He watched as she wandered off, letting his own thoughts whirl momentarily before she returned. It did feel better when she applied the plant, he felt. “Thank you.” He purred. “Yeah, I will.” He tested out his paw, finding it did still hurt a bit, but not as much. He could handle it. “I’ve always been bad with herbs.”

"I am just observant I guess." She shrugged. "You never know when you won't have a medicine cat nearby when you need one." she purred her eyes glinting as she caught sight of a squirrel gripping the side of a trunk nearby. "My turn." she purred. Angling her shoulders she crouched and slowly crept closer to the tree. When she was a few tail lengths away she launched at the squirrel. Her claws brushing harmlessly through the end of its tail. She clung to the trunk her tail lashing behind her. The squirrel squeaked in surprise and began to scurry up the tree. Brambleblossom wasn't giving up. With a small growl she hurried after it her claws scrapping on the trunk and leapt after it onto a branch. Hurrying across it and leaping with the squirrel to another neighboring tree she slapped her claws down on the creature as it tried to go higher up the trunk. She sank her teeth into its neck and heard the air leave its lungs. She purred and gripped the tree as she made her way back down and trotted over to him. "There. At least I could catch something today." she said dropping the fluffy creature at his paws her eyes glittering with a bit of self pride.
