Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Doestar looked out over his Clan, nerves fluttering like a trapped bird inside his chest. This was the first time he would give apprentices their warrior names, the first time he would set a kit on the path of an apprentice, the first he would truly do something important, sacred, ancient. If only a little, he was responsible for changing the lives of these young cats, and he was both terrified and utterly honoured to be a part of it. Half of him felt unworthy, sick, out of place; the other beamed with pride and joy and more love than he'd ever felt for anything.
"I, Doestar," he began, voice wobbling a little around his new name; he cleared his throat quietly, claws sheathing and unsheathing in an attempt to calm himself, and smiled briefly before he continued, eyes glittering with happiness, "leader of SummerClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentice. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as full warrior in their turn."
The rest of the ceremonies went on without anything going terribly wrong - he stumbled on his way to rest his chin on Crimsonpaw's head, and he bumped noses a little too hard with Quillpaw, and at one point he forgot the words of the apprentice ceremony until someone from the crowd whispered them to him and set him back on track, but aside from those small things, it was as lovely as he could have hoped.

Crimsonlife was beside himself with happiness. "Congratulations, Mudthistle! That's such a nice name." He liked his own as well. "We get to sit the silent vigil together tonight. I can't wait!"
Graythorn padded over to the two cats. "Well, it looks like you're all grown up now," he said to Mudthistle with a slight quaver in his voice. "It seems just like yesterday when I brought you back to the camp. Remember how shy you were then?" Strangely for him, his face was a mixture of emotions, happiness and wistfulness.
Nothing could possibly ruin this day for her. For the first time in nearly three moons, Mudpaw...Mudthistle was standing tall, the cloud of depression that had hung over her during her illness completely gone. A small part of her lamented that her beloved mentor, who had been called Ravenstar up until a few days ago, wasn't the one giving her warrior name. But it was Ravenstone's choice to step down, and she respected her decision.
"Yeah," the brown she-cat purred to her best friend, wondering if it was possible to smile any wider. "We've been waiting for this for so long. Mudthistle turned to face Greythorn when he walked over, gazing fondly on the Medicine Cat who had raised her. "I've come a long way, and I couldn't have done it without you...father," she responded half-jokingly, leaning forward to embrace him.
