Apparently, Carlotta-kun's handling of the tresspasser hadn't been up to the standards of Primal Instinct. She thought she had done absolutely fine with it. She had combined threatening with some tail kicking. But, the idea that she was stuck babysitting for any reason other than she was somehow in trouble made her irritated, and she just could not figure out what else she could have done to be punished in such a way. Really, the older cats probably just wanted her out of their fur, and it could kill two birds with one stone if you tasked a pesky trainee to give some pointers to the next generation. She grumbled another time about the situation under her voice, before arriving at the nursery.
"Knock, knock," she meowed with narrowed eyes, "is Brilliance-chan in there? Apparently I've been so enlightened by the task of keeping Brilliance-chan occupied for the afternoon." She glared into the room. It had been two and a half months since she had left the nursery herself. Who would have guessed she would be back so soon.

Brilliance-chan wasn't hard to spot. She'd mix in well with the other cats had she ever mingled with them or vice versa. But that never happened. Nowadays, whenever she was in the nursery, she was napping. When out, she never told where she went. It didn't matter for the context of this interaction. She was rarely one to rest, but today had been taxing to say the least. Her ears perked at the sound of her name. A cream colored cat with black limbs, tail and face stood up from her corner of the nursery. Flicking her tail side to side, she approached the entrance, where Carlotta-kun was.
"Yes? Hello, Carlotta-kun." The nursery rarely got visitors, so she stuck out like a sore thumb. Brilliance wasn't much younger than Carlotta, she'd be promoted in the next ceremony, so it was strange that she was sent to babysit her of all cats. She shrugged, showing none of the supposed tiredness in her bones.

"Apparently the higher ups think you aren't big enough to take care of yourself," she meowed with an ambivalent shrug, trying to make it seem like she wasn't annoyed by the fact atht out of all jobs she could have been given this fine afternoon, this was the one that she got. She let her gaze drift directly to Brilliance-chan. Only two moons ago the two had been denmates. Now, Brilliance-chan was the only youngling left. Was that part of the reason that Carl had to do, well, whatever she was planning on doing? She really wasn't planning anything. She was no teacher, nor was she a cat who had any sort of particular level of patience. This ought to be interesting.
"Which means we're stuck together for the rest of the afternoon. Whoopie," she then continued, before letting herself fall into a seated position. Her tail curled tightly around her paws. "I'm sure you're just as excited as me, no?" The marbled cat wasn't particularly good at looking amused when she was feeling some sort of amusement. It was no surprise, then, that when tasked with babysitting, she didn't even feign a positive emotion.

She wouldn't be here for much longer. Really, she should have already left, shipped off to one of the proxies. Unable to say why she was still here, she didn't bother. It'd all be resolved in no time and the pair could go their separate ways. Despite being denmates, they never really talked. Then again, most younglings didn't bother talking to her.
"Yes." Answering as straight forward as ever, she laid in a bed a little ways away from Carlotta. It wasn't the first time she'd seen an unenthusiastic trainee come in to babysit, though it'd probably be her last. And Carl was as transparent as they came, "So, what do they make you do in Punishment. Besides punishing."

Carlotta-kun hadn't been the most social when she was a youngling. She hadn't seen the point of it. If they were a typical group, and the younglings all became trainees and hunters together without specialization, maybe she would have seen more of a point of making friends. However, she knew that only one in four of the cats in the nursery were going to end up in her district, and it was a pain trying to figure out which one. To combat this, she had decided to just keep to herself for her first six moons. Now, she had come out of her shell, now that every relationship she had could have a purpose. But, Brilliance-chan ought not to feel too put off by the fact that they hadn't talked when she was younger; she talked to very few.
She blinked, her whiskers twitching. "Well, the whole punishing thing is the major part," she meowed with a shrug. "Beyond that, not entirely that much I guess? We do whatever the insane proxy has us doing, and we spend a lot of time doing dramatically less than one could expect, but hey. The punishing is fun."

Brilliance-chan didn't socialize much either. Partially because no one wanted to with her, other part cause she was too focused on her own goals. Even as a kit, she was a workaholic, and her new training under Mother E'tani only made her work harder. It was strange she even laid down, but man did she not want to get up. She couldn't be surprised by Carlotta-kun's answer; they were the Punishment district after all. Though she somewhat wanted her to talk about like, how to get someone to confess solely through psychological warfare. Ah well, she'd learn.
"What about learning to hunt or fight?" Even if there was a Hunter district, there seemed to be more than enough Punishers for the paltry amount of prisoners they have. Yet more and more younglings joined the district. innocentia must have her paws full. So maybe they could spend their time torturing mice rather than lying around.
