Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Small to medium in stature. A white ghost figure pulled himself from the dark pine Fallclan forest. His fur hung along his bony frame. Hardened sapphire eyes on a scarred mangled face surveyed his surroundings before stepping away from the pine forest, across the border into the Mountain Clans Gathering place. A place where Mountain Clans' leaders hadn't met in many moons. With the swish of his long tail he motioned for his Clanmates to moved forwards into the clearing. He walked silently to the front of where his Clanmates were gathered. Then he sat down waiting for the other clan leaders to join him. Bijou waiting in the silence that hung over the Gathering place. His eyes moving from Winterclan, to Summerclan, to Springclan's border. Watching and waiting to see who would be second to appear. For he was at the moment a leader without a proper name, a leader with no 9 lives, and a leader with no deputy, and felt that he needed to keep his guard up.
FallClan It had been a while since she'd seen her old clanmates, Softpelt mused as she stayed near Bijou. She knew the new leader was struggling to come to terms with his new position, and the unrest that was beginning to take hold of FallClan. Especially since Bijou had yet to take a warrior name before suddenly being named leader. This had many cats in FallClan protesting and grumbling about him not being the right leader, cursing him for denying Dovecaper his due.
The white she cat knew better, but she hoped the clan wouldn't fall apart during this gathering.

"I wonder if SummerClan's even going to bother showing up," Rainbowsong muttered to whoever was close by. "They've lost it. Seriously, I was out on patrol with Thrushstar a half moon ago, and SummerClan were in our territory shouting at us for moving the border! It's ridiculous!"
In all his seasons, despite his being still a young life, he had yet to participate in a gathering. He’d heard tell of them and at one point had longed to go, to see who else was out there in the world and possibly make some friends, but now...
His mother had never taken the clan to a gathering. Her successor hadn’t, either. For a long time, he was under the impression they were just an old wives tale.
Yet now he found himself trying to drag his butt over the border and make nice with the other kitties.
It was awful.
The fluffy white tom sighed heavily, seeming to exhaust every oxygen molecule he had in his possession, before inhaling a sharp breath and stepping over the border, followed by his soldiers and a few lucky students.
He wasn’t entirely certain what to expect from an event like this. Part of him just hoped he wouldn’t wind up dead. Most of the time that sounded like such a promising outcome, but he knew someone — more than likely Mistyveil — would drag his sorry carcass from the afterlife just to kill him again for being so careless.
He had a duty to his clan and all that jazz.
Plus he didn’t exactly have the security of extra lives in case someone was mousebrained enough to pick a fight, so. There was that.
He stopped in front of the FallClan leader, who’s name he didn’t know but who’s face and body were beyond tempting, and nodded gruffly once.
“Er... Person I don’t know the name of. -star.”
That’d do.
FALLCLAN
Tsubakipaw sat next to his brother Sumirepaw with a raised eyebrow and skepticism plain in his expression. These new cats that smelled of frost were odd. Particularly their leader.
He glanced over at his mentor. Was this such a good idea...?
His brother nudged him in the side.
“Stop that.”
“Stop what?”
“That face, the one that says ‘you’re-a-fool-for-thinking-this-is-a-good-idea-and-we’re-all-gonna-die’.”
“How can you possibly get that from looking at me.”
Taking a deep breath, anxiety swarming it’s way into his mind, Shadedstar took the first few steps into the Gathering place. He motioned for his Clanmates to follow. First Gathering as leader. He would do just fine. But he couldn’t seem to calm his nerves. Puffing his broad chest out, the large black tom made his way towards the two new faces, whom he guessed were FallClan and WinterClan’s new leaders. New faces, just like him. A small wave of relief washed into his shore of anxiety, a calming sense that they were probably as nervous as he was.
Unless they aren’t. They’re probably way more confident.
Shadedstar swallowed nervously and took a seat beside the fluffy white tom. His own thick-furred pelt seemed to compliment the others nicely. He placed his paws nicely. “Hello. I’m Sh-Shadedstar of SpringClan.” He said awkwardly, cursing the stutter. He felt the need to introduce himself. He sat as confidently as he could while his heart felt like it was going to explode.
WINTERCLAN
The swirled tabby apprentice had never been to a Gathering before, and he buzzed with excitement. Cinnamonpaw was overjoyed to be here, especially being WinterClan’s Pupil. He skipped near the front of the Clan, his thick, sleek tail waving in excitement. He wondered if he would meet new friends, and his mind immediately drifted off into its own little world, making its own little story. Was it professional to be as excited as he was? No, probably not. Did he really care? No, probably not. He was a new apprentice, he figured he should be able to feel excited about this. A new experience in this new chapter of his life.
FALLCLAN
The small, lithe molly followed her Clanmates into the Gathering place. She looked around, rather smugly, at the empty area. She couldn’t help her pride towards the fact that FallClan was first here. As her Clanmates did their own thing, Singingwren sat a little bit away and looked around expectantly. Surprisingly, she hadn’t made many friends in FallClan. Maybe it was her attitude, or how she carried herself. But she decided she didn’t care. She would continue to carry herself with an egotistical-like confidence. She would continue with her attitude. Their loss.
She heard another cat speak close by, very close by, and it just happened to be Rainbowsong. Oh. Well, the other she-cat was on the patrol with her when they fought SummerClan. “I couldn’t stand to see their faces if they did.” She answered. “They’re idiots, maybe they’ll get lost here like they did near their own border. Obviously they don’t know where things are.” She slay, still angry over SummerClan’s stupidity.
FallClan: @peepingpeeper @sinful Softpelt dipped her head in greeting as the leaders neared her and Bijou. She brightened at the sight of Shadedstar, and then her eyes widened. "Leader of SpringClan now! Well look at you! That's wonderful Shadedstar!" She purred. "Good for you!" She nudged him gently with a paw.
@peepingpeeper Rainbowsong nodded to the other she cat. "It's especially appalling as Ravenstar was among them! Honestly, how can you expect anything from a clan of fools, when there's just as big of a fool in charge of the lot of them!" Though she supposed FallClan couldn't really talk, she glanced over at Bijou curling her lip. The tom had suddenly claimed leadership over Dovecaper. She'd love to engage her current conversation partner in lamenting whatever injustice had been done to Dovecaper, and who Bijou thought he was declaring himself leader. But now was not the time or place.
WinterClan
Crimsonrose made herself comfortable in the midst of the clearing as Mysterypaw darted off to go look for any interesting apprentices or conversations to join. The big black fluffy she cat moved along ears pricked as she looked about.
Shadedstar chuckled nervously at the FallClan Medicine-cat, “Yeah, thank you.” He shuffled his paws and glanced at the leaders next to him, giving FallClan’s a second glance. He hadn’t seen either of them before but still felt obligated to know their names. He rationalized his thoughts, knowing full well he wouldn’t know them. StarClan, he needed to calm down. He’s been to Gatherings before, he was just a bit higher in rank. That didn’t matter, he was still the same as everyone else. He mentally kicked himself for overreacting.
FALLCLAN
Singingwren rolled her eyes. “Yeah, definately. It’s like they all share one brain! I wonder if they’re just delusional.” She found herself enjoying the conversation with Rainbowsong. The other molly wasn’t so bad. She glared at Bijou, her lip curling. “He’s got no right to leader of FallClan.” She whispered. Her ever prominent gossiper side was coming out.
Doefreckle watched the other Mountain Clans from the safety of the shadows, crouched low enough to feel his heart pounding against his forepaws. Though he was now technically leader of SummerClan following Ravenstar’s abdication, he hadn’t yet received his nine lives – or, well, eight lives, considering his predecessor’s remaining lives would simply be transferred to him in the place of an actual ceremony with star-specked ancestors and… whatever else actually happened at those sorts of things. The knowledge made him feel even more out of place than he already had, like he was merely an imposter playing at being leader. He hadn’t been ordained by StarClan; he didn’t know if he was the leader they wanted SummerClan to have; he didn’t even know if they would bother showing up if he did have a ceremony. What was he, a cat of NightClan blood and BrookClan tutorage, to them?
So, he’d just wait up here and hope the Gathering unfortunately ended before he had a chance to arrive with his Clan – oh, no, what a shame, we didn’t make it in time? Maybe next time. He didn’t want to endure the awkwardness of having to correct other cats any time they called him Doestar – ha, no, not Doestar yet, still just lil’ old Doefreckle. Oh, they’d ask, then what right have you to speak for your Clan at a gathering? Good point, he’d reply, hastily backing away towards the nearest exit, I’ll just be on my way, then! Sorry to have bothered you! I’ll come back with a real leader.
That’s what would have happened, if his lame foreleg hadn’t given out beneath him, and he hadn’t toppled down the hill in a flurry of leaves and tortoiseshell fur to come to a stop at the edge of the Gathering Place. Still lying dazed on his back, he looked up at the two FallClan she-cats currently verbally decimating his Clan and let out a nervous laugh. “I can confirm we are all delusional fools, yes,” he replied weakly. Doefreckle clambered to his paws, dipping his head to them with a forced smile and a panicked “evening”, and rushed off to find the other leaders. Which… he had no clue what any of them looked like. Or their names. Truthfully, he was struggling to remember which Clans exactly comprised the Mountain Clans in the first place.
“If there are any leaders close by,” he whispered, picking his way through the other cats and feeling the fur on his shoulders rise with discomfort and embarrassment, “please put me out of my misery and make it seem like I just casually know who you are.”
FallClan fox “Oh no!” Softpelt abandoned her conversation and hurried over to Doefreckle, the FallClan medicine cat immediately shifting into caretaker mode. “Are you all right?
Rainbowsong snorted, “What a mouse brain am I right?” She meowed to wrensong beside her.
Singingwren couldn't help but laugh as this new cat tumbled down in front of them. The remark just made it even better! "At least he can admit that his Clanmates are all idiots." She purred in amusement. "Well, you really made my night." The Siamese held out a paw as Fawnheart came hurrying over. "Really? Oh, they're fine. Anyway, you're not a medicine-cat anymore, you don't have to worry." She said with a bite to her tone. Really, the she-cat would have been much better off from where she came from, no place for a she-cat who couldn't do their job right! Singingwren continued to chuckle as the tom hurried off. "Alright evening to you too, buddy."
SPRINGCLAN
Shadedstar had been busy in his own head before he heard a whisper just behind him. His ears pricked with curiosity at the words and he turned, the stones around his neck clanking slightly, to find a cat just behind him. He could physically feel this poor tom's anxiety and it made him cringe inwardly.
"Oh, hey!" He said, standing and draping his tail over the tom's shoulder. "So I'm guessing you're SummerClan's leader? Wonder what happened to Ravenstar." He looked around at the other leaders. "I guess we're all new. Good, good! That's exciting." He sat back down. "I'm Shadedstar, by the way." He introduced, feeling a twinge of pride at his new name.
Bijou stood quietly in his spot. He sized up the other three toms that had been introduced as the leaders for Winterclan, Springclan, and Summerclan. His blue eyes looked at Ghoulstar. The first tom that had appeared with his clan. The other white tom had waltz up to him and not stated his name, but had greeted him instead. "My name is Bijou. There is no -star in my name." He replied as his gaze turned to look at the large black tom that had joined them. The tom was larger than Bijou, and seemed to dwarf him. Shadedstar- He didn't recognize the tom from when his grandfather Cicero took over Springclan, but brushed it off as he didn't know many of the true Springclan warriors and only knew the group of rogues that he had been apart of. The last and final tom to join them was a nervous fellow who he figured to be the Summerclan leader judging by his scent. Bijou's scarred curled up into a face of judgement as he saw the strange stones hanging from the Springclan leader's neck. "I'm Bijou, you may not remember me, but you clanmates may. I lived in Springclan back when Eternalstar was leader and Cardinalstar was chased out of the clan."
Jetclaw Doefreckle smiled sheepishly at the she-cat; judging by the smell of herbs clinging to her fur, she was a medicine cat. “Yes, yes, I’m fine,” he replied softly, smile curving upwards into a lopsided grin a moment later as he marvelled at the sheer ridiculousness of the situation. He breathed a laugh and touched his tail-tip to her shoulder, dipping his head. “Thank you, you’re very sweet.”
@oceanix @sinful @peepingpeeper He turned away—and came face-to-face with the SpringClan leader. “Yes!” he replied immediately, because it was either going to be that or a startled scream. He laughed softly, ear-tips reddening, and relaxed instinctively under the touch of Shadedstar’s tail across his shoulder. As he listened to the other leader chatter, some of his anxiety began to melt away – there was at least one other leader as cheery as he was, and, according to Shadedstar, they were all new. It was a comforting thought. “I’m Doefreckle. I haven’t been granted my lives yet but that’ll… happen. Anyway, yes! Ravenstar stepped down. I—” And, okay, the FallClan leader was talking now. He settled down beside Shadedstar, smiling briefly at the white tom sitting across from him and trying to ignore how good-looking he was, and let out a quiet breath to calm his nerves. At least he had at least one leader he could now call a maybe-friend; Shadedstar was certainly nice enough. And handsome. Stop.
“Well!” he interjected, trying so hard to sound cheerful, “isn’t this just lovely! Cats chased out of Clans, old comrades, nice, warm night – just… four guys hangin’ out.” He laughed, feeling like his skin was crawling with ants. “Lovely!”
Shadedstar stared at the tom for a few heartbeats, his eyes wandering across Bijou’s face. “Really?” His voice was tight with tension “that’s...nice.” He finished awkwardly. He would leave it, it was in the past. No need to bring it up again. Though it was partially the other tom’s fault. He had half the mind to just get up and leave, but that would be unprofessional and rather rude, especially because Bijou hadn’t done anything now and in the present.
He focused instead on Doefreckle beside him. He felt for the tom, he really did. “Well, I await excitedly for your new name.” He dipped his head. Shadedstar glared again at Bijou, somewhat disapproving that he hadn’t had a name change either. Of course, that was just him. He was rather traditional. “What happened to Thrushstar?” He asked casually.
FallClan fox @oceanix @peepingpeeper Softpelt followed Doefreckle back to the group of leaders. “Thrushstar Unfortunately was lost to a terrible fox attack,” she said simply. “It was awful, but we managed to drive them off without sending the awful beasts into any of our neighbors territories. A small blessing,” Softpelt said. “Bijou has been chosen to take his place.” The statement allowed for little room for any questions to be raised. “But enough grim talk, it’s a new future for our clans! New leaders, green leaf is in full swing. It is a new chapter for our group of clans, let us not dwell on the past but instead advance for the future!”
Immediately she turned to Shadedstar, “How are the flowers blooming this year?” She asked. “If there’s one thing I’ve missed since leaving springclan it’s the lovely blooms.” She said seeking to shift the subject.
///——/// Rainbowsong shook her head. “I’m not feeling too confident with the batch of leaders,” she mused to Singingwren.
Doefreckle sensed Shadestar’s unease and glanced at him sympathetically, brow furrowed in a sweet kind of softness. Well, I wait excitedly for your new name. “Yeah,” he joked with a purr, leaping at the chance to get back to a role he was far more comfortable playing, “I wonder what it’s gonna be. Bet you anything it’ll have something lame like ‘star’ in it.”
And then the medicine cat broke in with the fact the old FallClan leader had died and it sort of spoiled his forced good humour. He glanced at his paws, wishing with all his heart that he’d stuck to the plan and stayed at home. At the mention of flowers, however, he raised his head and smiled softly between Shadedstar and the medicine cat, a gentle purr rumbling in his throat. “I love flowers,” he broke in before the other leader had a chance to respond. “We have these wonderful wildflower meadows back home and they’re— oh, they’re so pretty. I like bluebells the best.” His mouth was still open like he was going to continue rambling about flowers when he remembered this wasn’t how leaders were supposed to behave and sucked in a breath to stop himself. He cleared his throat and forced a more serious expression. “Anyway, how about that political climate? Pretty crazy, huh?”
"Political climate." Shut up.
”Also, uh.” He turned to the FallClan leader and, in a more genuinely sombre tone, added, “I’d like to apologise on behalf of SummerClan for the violence at the border. My clanmates were not themselves during that time and I truly hope it won’t negatively effect our relations. As your medicine cat says — I don’t know your name, I’m sorry,” he added to her with a small smile, before turning back to Bijou, “it’s a new era for us all.”
FallClan fox “Oh! It’s Softpelt,” The fluffy white she cat said. “And that makes so much sense! It was weird how you all seemingly went for mad for no reason. But an illness does explain a lot. Do you know where it came from?” She asked. “I need to know what to look out for to ensure I can keep my clan safe.”
Shadedstar gave a final glance at Bijou before turning away. He was being a bit ridiculous, wasn’t he? The large tom turned to Softpelt, planting a smile on his face. He looked down at the flower in the centre of his stone collar. “Wonderfully.” He answered, the mental image of the beautiful cherry blossoms and flower fields. He smiled at Doefreckle. “I’m guessing Doestar? Of course, -star is used to represent a leaders blessing from StarClan, which I think is anything from lame.” He ran his tongue over his paw and drew it up behind his ear.
“I love flowers too, SpringClan has loads. It’s a beautiful place, lots of Cherry blossoms. I have to say they’re my favourite, though. You should come for a visit sometime.” He offered. He really wanted the Mountain Clan’s to get along. Good relationships were key. SpringClan was done with violence, or more accurate, Shadedstar was done with violence.
FALLCLAN
“Buncha featherheads.” She glanced at the leaders, catching the tom that nearly fell into them. “He’s a leader? Really? Wow, and I thought SummerClan couldn’t get any worse.” Singingwren chuckled, quite happy she had found a new gossip buddy. It really did feel nice to complain, didn’t it?
SUMMERCLAN
The first Gathering Beetuft had been too since her kits were born, and it felt wonderful! She had half expected herself to at least clean out her pelt, but she seemed to have forgot. The leaves and sticks, apparently, didn’t want to leave, as they entangled into her knots. The molly’s thick white coat, with few patches of ginger, stuck out like a sore thumb as she wondered in with her Clan. Seems Doefreckle already had a head start, she chuckled to herself. She liked this new leader, she really did. Beetuft glared at the two FallClan she-cats discriminating against her Clan and just being overall annoyances. Now, she wasn’t a very confrontational cat, but she couldn’t stand how rude they were being.
“You two should watch your words! They’re not very nice, I’m sure those leaders wouldn’t appreciate your comments. They seem dandy to me.”

Sunflowerpaw has never been to a Gathering, and quite frankly he didn’t really want to. They were busy, and dark, and overall terrifying. But, it beat laying in his nest, alone, in the dark, having a panic attack. He sighed. Maybe he should get out more? Talk to knew people? But his heart raced and he decided he would wait. Wait for the right time. The calico tom wandered for a bit, kind of lost, trying not to eavesdrop on any conversations before he decided he was being stupid. He looked even more like an idiot wondering around! He circled back, searching for some apprentices to talk to, and found some. They were talking, and he backed away at first. No need to ruin their conversation, he’ll just go home now. But, he marched forward and approached them with as much confidence as he could, glancing behind himself every now and then.
“H-hi?” He said to the two apprentice. Judging by their scent, once he only caught once or twice, they were FallClan.
FallClan "Oh that'd be grand," Softpelt purred. "You know, SpringClan used to hold lovely festivals during new leaf, in celebration of the return of warm weather, and new life. i imagine with all that happened and all the changes you hadn't had a chance to have one! It was one of my favorite events, everyone was welcome to come, there'd be games, feasts, and the flowers were always so pretty." She let out a sigh. "It was just lovely."

@peepingpeeper Rainbowsong shrugged, "We can say what we like," She said. "If you don't want cats to say poor things about you, shouldn't act poorly." The calico she cat said primly. "Besides, could you imagine trying to convince yourself there's nothing wrong ever. Sometimes you just need to complain a little. It's allowed. Right Singingwren?"

"Sup," Mysterypaw said coming up to join Sunflowerpaw and the other apprentices. "What's happening?" She asked looking at the apprentices.
Shadedstar looked down at his paws for a moment before smiling at Softpelt. “No, we didn’t have one. But next new leaf we won’t miss it.” He reassured. “I’m just hoping nothing happens again, I want SpringClan to just go back to how it was. Don’t get me wrong, change is great, but too much can get confusing. Too unpredictable.” He shook his head. “But that’s in the past, now.”
FALLCLAN
Singingwren stared at the molly for a moment. Who did this she-cat think she is? “Yeah, it’s not like we’re really hurting anyone. And if you really think the world is fine and dandy, that doesn’t really help with SummerClan’s stupidity.” She chuckled. “I’d clean your pelt if I were you. Just saying.”
SUMMERCLAN
Beetuft went to snap back at them, but decided against it. Aggression wouldn’t solve anything, it would just cause more problems. “Of course I don’t think that. Things go wrong all the time. But, anyway, I’m not arguing. You two have a nice day.” She dipped her head and walked past them.

Sunflowerpaw jumped slightly at the new arrival, turning to face this new cat. An apprentice like himself, of course. “Uh, hi? Nothings happening, I don’t—I don’t think?” He took a few steps back. What if he had interrupted something? Oh jeez they hated him already! “I’m Sunflowerpaw, sorry if I interrupted something.”
Ghoulmask watched the entire exchange with an amused smirk and a raised eyebrow. The way everyone was falling over each other in what seemed like a compliment battle to the death was entertaining, but quickly boring. Perhaps because he wasn’t getting any attention, though it was more likely because he had to be there in the first place.
Turning, he padded toward his own clan. “Let’s make this quick and then we can go home.” He resisted the urge to sag and hang his head. It was already draining his energy.
Ritualpaw stepped into the gathering place, her eyes lit up with wonderment when she took it in in all it's glory. She had never been here before, heck - she's never attended a gathering before! She was excited to meet all the other clans that inhabited the mountain. She took a few more steps, only to bump into somebody - another apprentice. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" She immediately apologized, taking a step back and bowing her head in embarrassment.
