Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cryptid huffed as he padded in the direction of Absum Lux's camp. Apparently he was supposed to be training some new tyro or something, so that she could pass a trial or something? He thought it seemed kind of pointless - Sable-kepa was apparently from Primal Instinct or something, so he thought she might be pretty skilled anyway, but it was the first time the heda had actually paid any attention to him, and Cryptid was not about to screw up his first actual job.
"Alrightey," he declared as he entered the church. "I'm looking for Sable-kepa. New girl, no idea what she looks like. Anyone seen her?"
"Reporting," Sable-kepa said firmly from the other side of camp and promptly made her way over with worry thick in her eyes. She had trained to be a Pathologist, which basically meant she had no fighting or hunting experience. She preferred it and enjoyed being a Resident, but her family was hated too much, she had been worried about them hunting her down one of these days when they recognized her as Vera's daughter. She had lived a soft life for the most part, but she also saw what happened to disobedient trainees who often got beat by their mentors for stepping out of line. Most just had to take it even if it was unjust. She forced herself to make eye contact with him and put on her best excited smile even though she was worried he'd hit her for not being on time. Although she wasn't sure if she remembered being given a time.
Sable-kepa had dark ashen colors that spilled across her pelt like she flew through a storm cloud. Her white bengal legs peaked out like moonlight twinkling through clouds, but the color of her bengal markings were like white lightning shocking nights into days. Her marigold eyes were hypnotizing as a snakes with an orange hue and copper center. On any other face, but hers her eyes would come off intense and creepy, but her eyes looked gentle as flower petals and mythical like a dragons eye. Her figure was hourglass with a triangular face and pointed nose. Given her fluffier build she resembled little of her older brother, Fuzzyheart.
Cryptid blinked as his new tyro immediately padded up to him. He'd been half-expecting to have to search all over the territory for her, so finding her already waiting for him was a pleasant surprise. Smart girl. "Good to meet ya, Sable-kepa," he said, with a brief dip of the head, ending the niceties there. He studied her appearance for a second; he'd expected her to look a little more like Fuzzyheart, but perhaps it was him that was the odd one out in their family, and not her. "Let's get outta here before someone asks us to join their patrol or something," he muttered, leading the tyro out of the church.
Cryptid cleared his throat as the sun began to hit their pelts. "Can I ask what training you've done before coming to the coalition? I don't wanna make you repeat a whole bunch of stuff you already know. It's too early in my career to be typecast as the boring mentor yet."
"I know how to communicate with the dead, kidnapping, still need to work on interrogation, drawing, concocting poisons, anatomy, biological warfare, and so far I'm proficient in SpringClan's ancient language, but I'm still learning that, but I don't know anything like hunting or fighting," Sable-kepa explained.
Cryptid blinked. Communicating with the dead? Kidnapping? Interrogating? Biological warfare? He didn’t even know what that last one meant but it sounded useful as hell. “How did you learn all that, but not hunting or fighting…? You know what, forget it. We’ll just start from the beginning.” He made a mental note to himself to get this kid to the pair of sages at some point.
“Did you say you’ve studied anatomy?” he asked, turning abruptly to face her once they were in a relatively spacious area of the territory. “That means you’ve already got a foundation for fighting so I guess we can start there. Tell me Sable-kepa, do you know the most vulnerable part of the feline body?”
