Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Peach sighed as he padded into the clearing with a few other Absum Lux members at his heels. The newest heda of the coalition sighed as he realised they were the first to arrive. It had been a while since he'd been to a gathering in any official capacity - stalking one from the very outskirts as a rogue didn't count - but now that he was here, he was a lot less excited than he thought he would be. Then again, he also knew that a large part of that was because he wasn't even sure the other two groups would show up. Primal Instinct were kind of shady, for lack of a better word, and the Regime tended to keep to themselves. So did Absum Lux, but Peach was hoping they could make a new start of sorts. As much as tradition would let them, anyway.
"What happens if no one else comes?" he asked, mostly to the empty air around them. "We could have a party by ourselves, I guess. Did anyone bring food or something?"
Fuzzyheart didn't appear to live up to his name at first glance. Dark brown silhouetted bengal fur consumed his large muscular build. He had a severe jar and the lines that make up his face looked rigid. The sharp planes of his face cast shadows over his narrowed eye that currently stared at everything like a predator watching prey. There was a black hole where his right eye should be leaving only his one cobalt blue eye. The toms jaw tightened at his mates thought, "That would be just like them, I swear, I better see some family out of this, but-"
His midnight blue gaze turned gentle towards Peach as he placed a massive paw over his dainty paw, "If this doesn't work out, we could enjoy the full moon, spend some close time together," He said as he cuddled up next to Peach, "If no one comes, they won't know what fiendish things we use this place for," Fuzzyheart smirked.
Mother E'tani leveled the pair with golden eyes chipped from stone and pieced together to create a distorted surface that could cut even the hardest of surfaces. White fur had been tamed as best it could be with the littering of scars that lay underneath it and marred her skin. Her smile was pulled from the statues of cherubs themselves, stone like and missing any life to it. Steps measured as she moved towards them. The Heda of Asbum Lux, potentially a new thorn in her paw that she would need to pry out and crush. Or a leaf blowing in the breeze that wouldn't be bothering her. Time would tell, but did she have the time to wait and find out? Peach was his name if she recalled correctly what was said by those who had come to tell her of the news.
Her eyes leveled on the large tom beside him, another a known player but one she was more dismissive of. Through those actions alone it was clear he was rather devoted to his mate, unlikely to cause trouble that would cause his mate trouble. Still she would keep him in the back of her mind, if nothing else he could be a bargaining chip should it ever be needed. Going to sit at the head of the clearing she watched the League cats slip into the space. She truthfully did not think this would end pleasantly, not when the rabid dogs were tied by thin morals that amounted to nothing more than easily snapped twine.
And yet she had rounded them up anyway and brought them here. If nothing else it was a good opportunity for the foreign affair district hunters to gather information. Besides that it would have been rather rude if she hadn't shown up and as such here she was. Ready to suffer through the no doubt patience exhausting affair. She wondered if the Regime would show up, another unknown to her, more so than Asbum Lux. An appearance from them could help tailor her future plans towards them.
PRIMAL INSTINCT "You don't think the spooks will be hiding out here, do ya?" His voice sounded panicky as he stopped briefly to scratch at the balding spot behind his ear before realizing that Mother E'tani was now leaving him behind. He jogged after her and then slowed down to match her pace as the gathering place came into view. "Man, we should have just not showed up. I bet Renegade Regime isn't going to show up, probably because they have spooks hiding among them." His eye twitched while his head did a jerking motion. Despite not wanting to be there, the tom ran ahead as Peach came into view. He paused and lifted a paw outwards as Mother E'tani showed herself over the edge of the hill. "WELCOME THE ALMIGHTY MOTHER E'TANI!" He shouted loudly with his snout pointed towards the night sky and a proud expression painted on his face.
When Sigmund finally came and settled next to her a paw whipped out and she smacked the back of his head hard enough to send him into the dirt. Expression placid and golden eyes still watching the gathered cats all the while. "Did I ask you to announce me Sigmind?" She questioned softly, with words the caressed the ear with the same sensation of a silk blanket being pulled over bare legs. Finally her eyes twitched to the tom and narrowed, though she still held that same placid expression as she watched him for a moment. "And no, to answer your early questions. No I do not think the 'spooks' will be here."
PRIMAL INSTINCT His muzzle hit the ground with a thud and he quickly scrambled back to his paws. He lifted his left paw and rubbed it against his nose as if he was scared it might be bleeding. "No, you didn't, but these flea bags need to know who the top dog.... well..... cat.... is around here!" He insisted with a firm expression on his face that quickly melted away once the Nemesis shot daggers his way. "N-Not that they don't already know this by just your presence alone." He quickly said with a slight chuckle, lifting his back leg to nervously dig at his balding spot.
"I for one thought the entrance was stunning," Peach offered lightly, in a rather lackluster attempt to defuse the situation between two cats he'd never met before. He stepped away from Fuzzyheart reluctantly, wrapping his tail around his mate's shoulders before padding closer to Mother E'tani and Sigmund. "Welcome, Primal Instinct. I guess the coalition's party will have to wait."
To say there had been some bad blood between Primal Instinct and Absum Lux in the past would be putting it mildly; Peach had no idea if the league would target them or if their beef was merely with Shae, but he supposed that he was about to find out. "I'm Peach, the new heda," he introduced himself, though he was certain she already knew who they both were. "Shae has...parted ways with the coalition, as I'm sure you've heard."
Now, Exsperavit wasn’t one for Gatherings. He had never been to one before, too busy digging his tunnels to really notice them. That was, until one of his brilliant ideas came to mind. Go to the Gathering and spread the word! Spread the word for the end of the world! Brilliant, brilliant! How had he not thought of this before. So he marched in, following the other mortals, barely taking in anything around him. “Oh, oh, the world will be destroyed soon!” He recalled to himself, his voice shaky and strained with years of stress. “The floods, the fire, the sun will fall! But of course, I must push it back. I will, if only I don’t die before that happens. The ghosties want me.” He glared around, surprised to not hear their whispering. No, no, no ghostie whisperings tonight.
“These mortals must listen to me now. They cannot disrespect a god like this.”
To say it was difficult to convince anyone that she out of all cats was one that needed to come to this particular gathering was an understatement. After all, she was not a foreign affairs member - not that she would ever want to be. That sort of stuff was so boring to her, and, after the Absum Lux queen had been kidnapped and sent to the prison, it seemed that the punishment district was going to be at least indirectly involved in the affairs of the other districts. Her eye twitched as she thought about that, making her way through the back of the Primal Instinct patrol. She had said that, along with some fluff about how it could help her understand the threats from the other groups more and how that would motivate her, when she gave her pitch to come. She wasn't sure that anyone had actually listened to her, though, and was half-convinced that they let her tag along just so that she would shut up. That seemed to be how she got her way most of the time, just keep talking until someone was tired of hearing her voice.
That was when she heard her mentor speak. "Oh, for god's sake," she found herself muttering at the announcement of their Nemesis. That mutter was soon paired with a flush of embarassment as her mentor was shoved into the dirt by the back of his head. Perhaps this wasn't as good of an idea, after all, she considered briefly, before shrugging to herself. No, just because Sigmund was awkward and by extension she always ran the risk of his awkward rubbing off on her did not mean that the whole trip would be a bust, did it?
Mother E'tani watched peach steadily for a moment before she nodded slightly, "I would offer my condolences on loosing a member but truthfully I believe you will be better off without her." She responded before the little half of her ear she had left twitched when she heard Exsperavit, she knew she should have banned him from attending. But then she would have had to listen to his rants towards his own importance. And how she possibly thought she could dare and try to ban him from attending. Eye twitching she took a breath and decided she would have to ignore him. As a last resort she could always have Sigmund drag him into the bushes and get rid of him to save her some embarrassment.
It had been a long time since Omega had stepped onto the gathering grounds. For such an occasion the cannibal wore one of his many cat vertebrae necklaces. His azure eyes scanned the gathering crowd to only find a few fighters of the Coalition with the Heda. He chuckled. They actually showed up. It was atypical for the solitary group to show itself, but a Heda's disappearance was a noteworthy occasion. He would not have been surprised if Peach killed Shae to keep the peace. The new Heda would never admit to it, but it fell well in line with the Coalition Omega was a part of.
His bone necklace rattled as he pushed his way to the edge of the League's party to examine the Coalition. He recognized no one yet, but there was still time. He found the cat's of the Coalition were rarely forthcoming within themselves, let alone at Gathering. His eyes wandered to the edge of the clearing in search of a second Coalition party. It is what the tabby would have done.
