Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Skysong padded into the apprentice's den, her silvery gray tabby pelt starry and see through. Her blue eyes bright and shining as she eagerly trotted over to where her student lay sleeping. She sat down near Quietpaw and gently nudged her. "Quietpaw," She whispered in a soft gentle voice. "Quietpaw wake up."

Quietpaw lay curled in her nest her body looking much smaller as she slept in a tight ball, she let out a soft mew at the whisper of her name and began to blink her eyes open feeling a gentle paw nudging her. The white and ginger she-cat lifted her head, her clear blue eyes on the silver tabby beside her. "Has something happened?" Still groggy from sleep Quietpaw let the question slip out, not yet realizing that she had never seen this cat among her clanmates before.
"No, no, nothing bad. But the sun's about to rise, it's looking to be quite lovely, would you join me?" She asked pulling away waiting for Quietpaw to rise and join her. "It's always a lovely way to start the day,"

"Yes." She had agreed to go with the she-cat steadily as if her mouth and mind had already decided for her, suddenly the realization of what was happening coursed through her and her eyes seemed to glow a little brighter. Glowstar had explained to the new apprentices that their mentors the spirit guides would visit them at dawn, so this must be her spirit guide then. Slowly the small she-cat rose to her paws and gave a soft nod as she joined her. "It does look like it's going to be a nice day." She let out a humming purr as she admired the fresh new day.
Skysong nodded purring as they stepped outside. "Come, come! The best spot to see the sunrise is this way!" The starry tabby gray she cat beckoned for Quietpaw to follow. "It's going to be a gorgeous day starting off with a lovely sunrise." She purred.

Quietpaw followed after Skysong on light paws, her movements soft and graceful. She knew only what Glowstar had told her and the others at their ceremony and now she began to wonder what her training for the day would involve, her spirit guide was kind and fit well with her own personality. "What made you decide to become a spirit guide? You had a choice right?" She couldn't see the StarClan cats being forced to return and train the new apprentices but still she was unsure. Her voice never lifted about an audible whisper and she hoped she was close enough that the she-cat heard her.
Skysong sighed, "Well I should probably start by introducing myself, I'm Skysong of NightClan. I was very young when I died, had two darling daughters but... fate was not kind to me and I wasn't able to be there with them. They grew up well, one of them's the leader now!" She let out a mrrow of amusement, "It's strange to look at Burningstar and Soaringbird and compare them to the little kittens I had beside me. So when Burningstar became close to Glowstar, and then Glowstar was able to allow for spirits to be guides, I immediately jumped at the chance. I feel closer to my children in this way... and it gives me the chance to raise some young cats like I wasn't able to in life. It's why I always love the dawn! Especially right after your apprentice ceremony!" She quickened her pace.

Quietpaw listened carefully to Skysong, an expression of sadness crossing her face at the story of the starry she-cats life among her clan. Her head shook as she cleared her eyes of the sudden sorrow she was feeling and looked up at her spirit guide giving her a soft smile. "I am glad to have you as my guide Skysong, I would be honored to learn all you have to teach me." She found herself pulsing with a knew sense of purpose as she trotted alongside the she-cat, she was proud to have been given such a strong warrior to help her, strength that not only rippled through her body but that also lay within her heart. Quietpaw quickened her pace to match Skysongs though her short legs meant she had to push herself harder to keep up. This is a new beginning, the start of something that would be with her always even after her mentor was gone.
