She had to hide from her mother's eyes if she wanted to play with the other kits. Everytime she pulled away from the nest, she would be swooped up in a paw and pulled back instantly for a vigorous cleaning. It seemed every few hours she had a tongue scraping through her fur and a distraught voice wailing, "look what you've done to your pretty fur again!"
This time, she was in the clear. Twighlightkit's golden gaze swept over the nest. Her mother was down for a nap. Watching over her kits were exhausting. The fluffy silver tabby balanced on toes as she made her way into the darkness, her eyes peering around as they adjusted to faint moonlight. The camp was more alive at this time. Maybe they would be happy to see her finally get out of the den?
"Twilightkit!" Fierykit squeaked as she bounced over to the denmate. The daughter of NightClan's leader bounced over to her. "Glad to see you're out too! Did your mama finally lighten up?" She asked. Often times her mother, Burningstar had asked the other queen if she wanted to have her kits play with Burningstar's litter. And was refused. "Mama always says it's important for kits to get to have fun." She shifted closer, "I think it's cause she's super guilty she left us with daddy for so long, so she's super duper uber nice to me and my siblings, it's great!"

A purr rumbled in her throat as she was greeted by her denmate. A spring started in her step, running to meet Fierykit. "Unfortunately, no," she huffed. "She is just sleeping. I waited forever for her to even close her eyes!" She batted at the ground, showing her frustration. She knew her mother wanted her in the den with her, but she really couldn't figure out why. Everytime she asked, she just got the usual response, "because I said so." She rolled her eyes. She felt a twinge of jealousy for the other kits, but it filled her with some hope just seeing them. "I hope when I become an apprentice I'll have more freedom."
