Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Cryptid shook the water from his pelt as he attempted to climb out of the ditch, his claws scrabbling for purchase at the hard concrete that lined its walls. “Lordie,” he muttered, as he realised he’d probably made a huge mistake while jumping down here. “Oh lordie, lordie. Why did you even come down here, you big fat slobbering smoothbrain,” he hissed to himself. “Do you even want to become luminary someday? Because dying alone in a ditch will not make you a luminary, I don’t think.”
He settled onto his haunches and sighed. It’s not like I had any dignity left to lose, anyway. “Yo,” he called out, to anyone who happened to be in earshot – he couldn’t exactly see out over the top of the ditch, after all. “Don’t freak out if you’re up there, I’m not a ghost. I’m just...stuck.”
The voice was quiet as the small feline looked down at the sound. It was a wispy kind of voice, one that was almost ghastly. It belonged to a she-cat who didn't seem to look bothered by the fact that her clanmate was stuck. It would have been out of character for her to care for anyone, really. Priah was the kind of cat who kept to herself, or at least that's what she tried to do. It never seemed that her goal of being completely solitary was going to be accomplished, and she'd long accepted that she was going to continue to be dragged into her clanmate's problems until she left. Priah still couldn't get herself to leave, though.
Cryptid turned toward the she-cat's voice, looking up towards where he thought he heard it coming from. Sure enough, Priah was standing at the edge of the ditch, looking down at him. "Through misplaced confidence and being extremely unlucky," he grunted, scraping uselessly at the concrete with a single claw. Still no hold. Priah was someone he didn't really know much about - granted, he didn't know particularly much about any other members of the coalition, but Priah he seemed to be especially in the dark about. Was she the type of cat who would try help him, or would she rather just leave him stranded here? He supposed he was about to find out.
"Think I'll die down here?" he asked, one eyebrow raised. "It'll probably take me a few weeks to starve, I think I see a bird corpse down a little further."
Oh, so he was one of those cats. The unlucky ones were always the worst, and they were always the ones that Pria ended up stumbling upon. One of these days, she thought to herself, your own bad luck is going to catch up to you. Are you sure you want to stay in Absum Lux? She shrugged off the question, whose answer was a probably not. She blinked, refocusing on the task at hand, before letting out a deep, troubled sigh. The kind of sigh that you'd expect Cryptid to sigh. It was a sigh that made it seem like she was the inconvenienced one, and hole-cat was totally fine.
"It is possible, I suppose," she meowed, her voice wavering slightly. She was probably obligated to help him, right? Another troubled sigh. "I was just hunting. Maybe I can throw you my bird and then you'll have two carcasses to chomp on. You'll still die eventually, possibly, but at least it would take a bit, hmm?"
