Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was the morning after their leader called the clan together for the naming ceremony, a few new warriors and so many new apprentices most of the warriors in WaterClan now had one including Shallowleap. He had sat and pondered about what he would do, this was his first apprentice but the large tom didn't get on very well with most cats and he wondered if his new charge Thunderpaw would take to him or if the young cat would just get on his nerves. "Oh well, whats done is done." Shallowleap shook out his pelt dislodging what was left of the moss that clung to him from his nest and looked around the clearing until his eyes stopped on the apprentices den, his long legs placed him at the entrance in a matter of moments.
"Thunderpaw. Wake up, it's time to start your training." He spoke with a stern voice, it was his natural tone and he refused to soften it for the apprentice. He would just have to get used to it. Shallowleap sat down beside the den as he waited and began to groom his mottled black and white pelt the tip of his tail twitching in impatience.

The stone-grey tom was quick to rise from his nest and shake the scraps from his fur. Thunderpaw made sure there were no more moss tendrils caught in his fur before padding out of the apprentice's den with his ears pricked and eyes alert. "I'm awake." He answered and dipped his head to Shallowleap. Out of all his siblings, Thunderpaw was the observant one. He was extremely intelligent, which sometimes annoyed the others.

Shallowleap looked down at the apprentice as he emerged from the den, satisfied that at least the young tom seemed alert. "Today I am going to take you around the territory, it's imperative that you know it well and that you understand where the borders are." The large mottled tom jumped straight in with a stern tone, once finished he let his gaze rest on Thunderpaw until he was sure he understood. Shallowleap still wondered what had possessed Chimerastar to give him and apprentice, he of course had accepted but he was one of the less friendly cats in WaterClan and every cat knew it. His sister was the only cat who knew his kindness.

Thunderpaw gave a sharp nod, determined to make a good impression on Shallowleap. "I promise to pay attention to every detail." His response was respectful and curt, almost soldier-like. He had heard from some of the other apprentices that the warrior he was assigned to was strict, but he almost preferred it that way. At least he knew that his training was going to be taken seriously. Starclan help whatever poor apprentice ends up with Egretfeather one day.

Shallowleap gave the young tom a half smile, happy that he didn't seem to be as outrages in behavior as some of the others. "Right lets go." He turned and padded toward the camps entrance, he wouldn't slow his pace for the younger cat, Thunderpaw would just have to push himself to keep pace once they got into the territory. "We'll go to the border with BrookClan first, you should know their scent well. Our border with EarthClan is a gorge, but if we have time I'll show it to you so long as you are careful." He kept moving as he spoke over his shoulder, slipping out of camp.

"A gorge?" Thunderpaw echoed the word with curiosity. He had heard stories of cats falling down the gorge when he was younger but never got a chance to see it. Of course, he wasn't one of those kits that tried to sneak out when he was younger. His first priority was staying by Lilypool's side. As they trekked through the territory, he pushed himself to keep up with Shallowleap. It proved to be a difficult task at first. The warrior's legs were longer than his own and used to dodging tree trunks and holes in the ground.
