Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Vixenpaw had grown a lot over the moons; physically, emotionally, and mentally. She should've had her full medicine cat name moons ago (it was coming up nearly a full year since she'd asked Flyingcolors if she could be her apprentice) and she was mildly upset that she was still a 'paw but decided it didn't matter she'd be an apprentice still either way. It didn't help all the trials she'd been put through had set her training back moons. The medicine cat apprentice let out a wary sigh as she watched her clan mates go about their business. If she'd bothered learning to hunt with her disability when she was still a new apprentice, she might've had the nerve to ask if she could join a patrol for hunting. It had been quiet lately, nobody had come in with wounds that needed to be healed by a medicine cat and couldn't be healed with the limited herb knowledge most cats seemed to learn.
Most cats might have caught onto simple remedies, but that certainly didn't mean every cat possessed that knowledge. Some cats were far too busy adventuring and exploring to learn about that sort of thing, those adventures and explorations nonetheless driving some cats to the medicine den more often than most. Of course, 'some cats' were sometimes more specifically the very cat that happened to limp into the medicine den, a wide smile on her face despite the ache in her short limb. It didn't matter that she was hurt, Trailblazer only cared about the story about it. One that she was eager to tell as she chirped, "Vixenpaw! How's it going, huh?" once she got the ginger apprentice's attention. She hurried towards the medicine apprentice as quick as she could on three legs, fluffy tail curled up over her back. "Bet you'll never guess what happened this time," she meowed, plopping down a couple mouse-lengths from the deaf she-cat, sticking out her injured leg as far as she could without it hurting more and with a smile wide enough to make it easy for even Vixenpaw to catch the joking challenge to guess.
Vixenpaw tilted her head at the warrior. "Did you trip over a branch, fall into a hole, and twist your ankle in the process?" she mowed in amusement as she examined the injured limb.
She gave a purr of amusement rearing onto her hindquarters so she could hold her paws up only a whisker apart. "Close," she meowed before she winced in pain. She should probably not move around her injured leg too much. Instead she just stuck out the short limb so Vixenpaw could get a clear look at it.. "Nah, I was chasing a mouse and stuck my paw down its burrow to catch it. My other paws hadn't quite stopped running yet, though." She almost automatically flexed her claws, ears turning back against her head in disappointment as she thought of the almost-fresh-kill.
