Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The recent rains had bloated the river near the BrookClan leader and Chim had chosen on his return journey from the other clan to skirt around it, keeping closer to the border as it widened to the chasm that blocked them from EarthClan. He kept close to the edge, feeling the mud soft between his toes as the bridge came into sight. That was far enough along he should he able to break back into his territory and get through a shallower part of the river, but as he turned back he froze.
Standing within the trees was a fox, a hulking ginger beast with ratty fur, filled in and well fed from the carrion the former leader's rogues had left out. Foxes had started to hang around their territory recently and they were all strong ones he had no desire to take on alone. Chimerastar backed slowly toward EarthClan territory and away from the beast as it turned sharply and spotted him, nostrils flaring as it began to stalk his way, slow and confident. Unless he was about to trespass, he was trapped.
(I WILL RESPOND TO THIS! Just trying to get other things rolling first. Were be doing this before or after her lives ceremony or did we even talk about that?)
Seablossom had escaped camp back towards her favorite place, the one she always found herself coming back too, the gorge. Life was stressful, too much, and she wasn't handling it well. The stress was causing her fur to fall out and her body to weaken. She didn't look well, or like her past self, one much stronger both mentally and physically than she was now.
In a few days time, she'd be leaving camp to receive her lives and she didn't know if she could handle that or being the leader of the clan. The seafoam she-cat stared down into the chasm before her, wondering if she could see her father there, if she'd see him in a few days time. What would he say?
Then the wind shifted. Fox. Immediately she tensed, her eyes scanning the territory. Foxes hadn't been in the lands lately, she'd know if they were. Why was one here now?! Spotting movement in the distance, just on the otherwise of the border, Seablossom found the fox and another. Chimerastar. He was alone, no chance against the fox. Moving quickly she darted towards the bridge to their lands, closer to both him and the fox. "This way! Quick!"
In the moment, she didn't care about him crossing the border, or that he was even from a different clan. Crownglass had been an outsider, and he was her mate. If she allowed him to die just because he was from a different clan and she had the chance to help, then she couldn't call an outsider her mate, let alone her siblings her family. Her family was full of outsider blood, so why would that matter to her? Besides, two against the fox were better odds for either of them. Hopefully, this ended in their favor and not the foxes.
(Cleaver. I did it. Made a reply. Now to go reply to the hundred others I have *sweats*)

He didn't stop to argue, slowly backing toward the bridge, then making a dash across. The fox's nostrils flared as its prey fled and it slid after him, quick but not yet sprinting, mean eyes checking on the pair of cats. The leader didn't stop to look at him companion, he rarely met EarthClan cats outside of the gathering so he wasn't even sure he'd know her if he looked, and darted past her.
"Is there somewhere we can hide?" he called. He hated fighting, but sometimes it was the only option. He just hoped it wasn't.
(So sorry! I've been trying to get things ready both for school and vacation. And I'll be gone till next week, just a heads up!)
Seablossom backed slowly away from the edge of the gorge. "yes, there's a cave just around the corner. But we'll be trapped if it follows us." It wasn't the best idea but it was the closest and easiest to get to. Hopefully, the fox wouldn't fit across the small path that leads up to the cave. It was narrow and close to the gorge. One wrong move and you were a goner.
Chim growled uneasily, but he had no choice. He doubted they could both outrun it, not when he was in unfamiliar territory, and he didn't want to fight unless they had to. At least he had the small comfort of knowing if the fox did get a hold of him he had eight more lives to waste. Unless it ate him first. "Let's go. Lead the way," he ordered.
She didn’t hesitate to hi tail it out of there! “Watch your step up here. Even nine lives won’t save you from fallening in the gorge.” Seablossom didn’t spare him a second glance, but she did the Fox. Every other step she too, her eyes darted towards the creature gaining on them. “Quickly!”
“Perfect,” Chimerastar muttered, steering himself away from the edge as he continued the ascent. He didn’t want to look back at the fox and had to watch his paws, but he could hear it before him, nearly feel it.
This route, these steps, she knew them better than her own paws. Many a nights, evenings, days were spent here with Crownglass. They'd met here, confided in each other here, were there for each other here. And now this would, once again, be her saving grace. Eyes mostly on the fox, Seablossom walked just behind the tom. "We'll have to defend the entrance. It's covered ground quickly. With any luck, we can knock it into the gorge." Just as her father had.
