Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had been another grueling day of training and ridicule. Her mentor had awoken her before before the morning prayers, and whisked her away from training before being allowed to eat. They had started the day by meticulously gathering moss. Frostcloud was a perfectionist, and it was perfection that was expected of her. Her mentor talked her through how to carefully slice away the moss from the rocks into perfect squares to line the nests of the nursery with. Each time she made even the smallest of mistakes she had been cuffed behind the ear and told how terrible she was at this task.Eventually Frostcloud had left her to it, saying that she would not be allowed to return to camp until she had ten perfectly cut squares.
Each time that her mentor had returned, she took the moss that Unseenpaw had so carefully cut and tossed them away. Unhappy with how they were shaped or the eveness of her cuts. Even though she was blind, there would be no exceptions. It was perfection or trash. She spent the whole day trying to please her mentor, to no avail. It was only when the sun disappeared below the horizon that her torment had ended. Still unhappy with her work, Frostcloud had made it clear that she would be starting anew at first light.
Unseenpaw dragged her tired paws through the dirt, as she walked across the camp clearing. She looked over longingly at the fresh kill pile, knowing that she would only be chastized further for taking from it. She had not done her duty to her clan, so she had no right to the food that others had worked for. She reluctantly turned away, retreating to her nest in the apprentices den. Exhaustion and hunger waged war inside of her, as she closed her eyes to try to sleep.

Darkness was shadowing the camp its only source of light flowing down from the moon that hung high in the sky, Dovepaw had been seated outside of the apprentices den a half eaten piece of prey between her paws. She had been unable to sleep after what seemed like the longest day ever, she had been tending to small things around the camp medial tasks given to her by the warriors and although her paws were sore she was not ready to curl up in her nest. Her eye caught Unseenpaw as she trudged across the clearing looking defeated and noticed her look of longing at the well stock pile pf fresh-kill before she moved on and disappeared into the den. Dovepaw narrowed her eyes in thought wondering why the apprentice had been out so late and refused to eat even though she knew she was hungry, the white apprentice looked at her own half eaten meal knowing she wouldn't finish it and stood up to poke her head into the den. "Unseenpaw." The single word left her throat in a hiss, she kept her voice low as not to disturb the others and kept her blue eyes locked on the blind apprentice curled in her nest.
She had just began to drift away into the darkness of her own mind, her ear twitching in an automatic response to the soft hiss. The young apprentice raised her head, her eyelids snapping upwards to reveal the bright endless blue orbs below. Such a startling blue, an unnatural color not found in the general population. Many called her eyes her most beautiful feature, something to envy. Yet few would want to pay the price she had for such beauty. A beauty that ironically she would never get to see.
The voice that had roused her, was familiar. It belonged to Dovepaw. A newly promoted apprentice that she hadn't spoken to, but had heard many a times speaking with others. Unseenpaw didn't talk with many cats, most avoiding her for the simple fact of her father was. They saw her and her siblings as cursed children, as monsters. Something to fear. They didn't fear what she was now, but what she might become as she matured.
"Dovepaw..." she replied quietly, trying to respect those that were already sleeping.

Hearing the other apprentice say her name Dovepaw took a small step back, she didn't even know why she was doing this it wasn't like her. "Come here, and hurry before someone else wakes up." Her tone was a bit harsh, a normal thing for her she didn't often speak kindly to others and this blind apprentice was no exception but she couldn't rid herself of the knot that had formed in her belly after seeing Unseenpaw return to camp. Without waiting for a reply she turned and returned to her previous spot in the shadows where her unfinished meal was still waiting.
The last thing she wanted to do in the moment was move, but their was a sense of urgency in the other cat's voice that couldn't be ignored. Her muscles screamed in protest as she forced herself to her paws once more, the joint her front paws creeking underneath her weight. Unseenpaw padded quietly out of the den, the cool night breeze a cool contrast against the warmth of her nest.
She listened carefully to the other cat's footsteps to locate where the she-cat was headed before she followed behind. She walked forward until she had closed in, sitting down close by. Her black fur blended into the shadows, even though ti was rather unintentional on her part.
What did Dovepaw want with her? Had Frostcloud sent her as test? Doubt plagued her mind and she wrapped her long tail around her paws. "What is it?"

Dovepaw looked over her denmate with sharp eyes not bothering to answer the she-cats question, her tail twitched in annoyance as she asked herself what she was thinking. Without taking her gaze off of Unseenpaw she shoved the remains of her own dinner over so that it barley touched the fur of the black cats tail. "Hungry?" She forced the hiss back that threatened to escape with the one simple word. I must have hit my head to be doing this.
The smell of the food made her mouth water, but she knew that she couldn't partake. Frostcloud would smell it on her breath. She remained calm, lightly shaking her head "No thank you, I already ate while out training with my mentor" she politely declined, moving what was left of the meal back to Dovepaw. "You should give it to one of the cat's coming in from the moonhigh patrol. I'm sure they would be most appreciative"
She stood to leave, the scent of the meal proving too tempting. Her stomach churned inside of her, as she forced herself to ignore what she wanted to was just within her grasp.

Her ears flattened as Unseenpaw pushed the mouse back to her and held back the growl rising in her chest, this is why she didn't do things for others why she kept to herself but for some unknown reason the white and silver apprentice kept pushing. "It will be too cold when they get back and no cat would appreciate it then." Her words were true, but she couldn't have cared less if the moon high patrol got stuck eating old prey it wasn't the point. "If you don't eat it then it will go to waste and that wont make any cat happy." She had to force herself to stay calm as the she-cat stood and began to leave, keeping her voice as soft as she could even though it held a sour tone.
Unseenpaw shook her head, an obvious internal struggle going on. "Well, I guess if you'll share it with me"she finally gave in, knowing that this she-cat wasn't going to give in until she ate something and it was getting harder and harder to resisit the scent coming from the fresh kill.

Dovepaw let a small smile play across her lips as Unseenpaw turned, finally giving in to the prey she offered. "That wasn't so hard, now was it?" She gave a little chuckle. Thoughts played through her head as she watched the other apprentice, the way she had felt seeing her walk into camp it didn't sit well, causing the pit of her stomach to knot. Dovepaw wanted to find out what was wrong, but she didn't know how to go about doing it, this wasn't something she was good at.
Unable to hold back any longer, Unseenpaw dug into the prey, wolfing it down in a few quick bites. It was more than what she had eaten in days, and as soon as it hit her stomach, it started rolling in protest at the sudden fullness. She would probably get yelled at for this later on, but at least her belly would be filled for one night. The other she-cat's words echoed in her mind, if only she knew the truth...
