Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. From the moment that he first showed up in Earthclan, Stalkerjaw had been known as a cat of few words. He believed that actions spoke louder than words, and that was the very he lived his life. The broad-shouldered tom fulfilled his duties as a warrior, never made any trouble, and in spite of his intimidating appearance, was actually a nice guy to those who got to know him. For the nearly five seasons he spent as a clan cat, no one had ever had any complaints, and he simply went about his days in silence.
It was kinda a lonely sort of life, but he was content.
Today he was out assigned on border patrol. Meandering through the fresh, bright green woods, his large paws thudded against the hard dirt as he walked. Every so often, his yellow gaze would glance over his shoulder, making sure that his clanmate on patrol with him was keeping up. Not that he was moving very fast; he simply had a longer stride than most. Above their heads, the towering trees, their leaves scattering light on the forest floor, were filled with cheerful birdsong.

The tortoiseshell-and-white tom followed on quick paws, his paws needing more steps to cover ground. He was skipping very lightly on his paws, almost little to no sound reaching the air. Mistywaters could respect this silence between them. He wasn't very talkative, while he wasn't the type to be completely quiet either. Though out in the territory, there were plenty of sounds to admire other than another's voice.
He actually wouldn't be the type of cat you would want to have along with you on a patrol just by looking at Mistywaters. After all, with his sight starting to go and his small frame, there must be very little he was really useful for. Instead, he was keeping up quite well for a cat who had to rely on seeing blurry figures pass, but mostly his ears. He could easily detect how close by the tom was. Now, the real issue was whether or not they would run into trouble. His small size and skinny body didn't provide much for fighting or even defending himself and he had to use his head in those situations instead of his muscles.
When the pair of them were first assigned on patrol by Seablossom, it had actually taken an overheard comment from some of the apprentices for Stalkerjaw to realize his companion had any problems at all. It wasn't like the tom had ever had a meaningful interaction with him before; honestly, he barely knew any of his clanmates at all besides Rookback, but that was a different story entirely. Thinking about it, he wasn't entirely sure why he never pursued any friendships in Earthclan, despite being here for so long. Was it because he just didn't feel like it? Or was he scared of opening up?
Nevertheless, he wasn't bothered by the revelation of Mistywaters' sight, and perhaps to the other's surprise, he didn't at all change the way he acted around the other tom. In fact, he probably knew better than anyone what his partner was going through. For a while, the two continued in comfortable silence, with only the cheerful sounds of birdsong or the crunching of leaves filling the air. As they approached the stream the marked the border with Waterclan, Stalkerjaw's steps slowed, until they were standing next to the soft rushing of the river. He sniffed the air, before turning to look down at the other cat. "Waterclan's passed by," he commented in his low, gravelly voice.
"Yea, you just missed the brats."Ivorycrown had been downwind from the two warriors when she'd heard Stalkerjaw speak up. "Just some punk apprentice who didn't know the edge of the border when they tumbled over it. I took care of it." More like gave them a good scare. Needless to say, those three wouldn't be back. She washed her face with her paw from where she was sitting against a nearby tree.

Over time he learned most of his clanmates names and unique scents. When he heard the familiar voice of Ivorycrown, his head turned in her direction and he watched as the fuzzy figure climbed towards them.
The scent of their rival clan was the second to hit his nose, and it was unwelcome. His whiskers twitched unpleasantly and his nose wrinkled slightly. "Apprentices," he sighed, shaking his head. "WaterClan needs to learn how to control them. At least teach them about boundaries." The last thing he wanted was a fight over crossing lines.
"Bunch of new ones, I've heard," Stalkerjaw commented, barely acknowledging Ivorycrown's appearance. His hard gaze was fixed firmly across the border, watching it like a hawk in the case that the Waterclan apprentices should return. Though he enjoyed a good fight every once and a while, he never took any pride in injuring cats so young. They reminded him of when he was that age and didn't know any better. It took a good minute of no activity for the tom to conclude that Waterclan was gone, and his tense muscles relaxed, taking a seat on the grass.
"Well, they won't be doing it again. The little monsters had the nerve to call me crazy!" Okay, she may have been a little to harsh in her wording when she terrorized them, but still. To call her the crazy she-cat and run away crying. Pathetic! Ivorycrown hadn't met such unruly apprentices in her whole life. It ruffled her fur just thinking about it, pulling anger back to the surface of her skin. Let them come back, she'd give them each a scar to match, prove how crazy she really was!
