Blood was splattered against the trees, the cat's body mangled and lifeless on the ground before her. Now, the deceased hadn't been anywhere near the SunClan border. In fact, they were quite far from the border even now, well into rogue territory to the west. No, this rogue had simply been an annoyance, and rather idiotic on top of it all. Trying to attack the High Priestess was a death sentence, after all. Light filtered through the trees as the she-cat attempted to brush off some of the crimson that clung to her painted pelt. Alas, it was a fruitless endeavor, and Foxstar soon turned away to head for water, bringing herself yet further from her clan's land. Not that it was unusual nowadays. SunClan warriors roamed and hunted where they pleased, though the older generations still tended to stray away from the other clan's territories. The fox-hearted cult leader had no such qualms however, and had little trouble passing through other leader's lands when it was convenient, though that wasn't particularly often. Today was not one of those days. No, she was simply taking a few moments to herself. Littlebird could handle things well enough on her own for the time being.

Aspenpaw had found himself wandering in every direction sense he got promoted to an apprentice. The ginger tom lazily walked through the sun, his pelt picking up the light with an unearthly glow. Though he was of loner blood, his pelt was like a pure blooded sunclan cat full of rich reds and golds. At the scent of blood he turned directions, mildly intrigued at what it could mean. He came upon the dead loner, the area surrounding the body smelled of SunClan. While he understood SunClan had few rules, killing cats seemed a bit to ruthless for him. Wondering how his clanmate had faired he followed the crimson trail to a clear creek. In it was his leader, Foxstar. "Are you okay Priestess?" Aspenpaw inquired, despite knowing full and well that Foxstar could heal herself.

By now, the fox-hearted leader had half immersed herself in the water, the feeling of it cold against her adrenaline filled body, stripes of red curling away from her pelt and downstream from them. For a few moments, the she-cat declined to answer Aspenpaw's question, simply splashing herself with the water. Scarlet slowly gave way to auburn, fiery patterns emerging across her fur. The injuries she'd sustained, not more than a few gashes across her shoulders and side that would be easily remedied with even simple herbs were largely hidden from view by her thick pelt, save for the slowing rivulets of red that ran with the water streaming from her fur as she brought herself fully back to dry land. "I am well enough." She offered simply, glancing back at the trail that led to her location. "The Shade Walker that attacked me now... well, I'd say none of us should have trouble with him from now on." And the death was a warning to everyone else as well. A wordless sign to all who would dare to lay a claw on them that their lives would be forfeit, no matter what territory they may walk.
Most of the elder cats, and those not born into their ways were more hesitant about killing, even though killing in self-defense, or murdering a trespasser were both allowed, and more than that, the way the law was phrased made the murder of outsiders legal, so long as one asked the High Priestess first. Or, for those less inclined to request permission to kill, no consequences could come if they weren't discovered, right?
Aspenpaw nodded, hoping he hadn’t offended his Priestess. Even though he had pretty much grown up in the group he still felt like an outsider as he lacked the inborn sense of aggressiveness. He was a gentle soul who strives to provide for his home. “I was just worried for your well-being, I am glad to hear we will now be safer.” To be fair he had himself been beat up several times by passing cats as they thought of him as a little kit with his almost feminine frame and silky fur. Still he was unsure of what to do and stared down at the water lapping against his paws, turning the first orange into a deeper red. Aspenpaw spun around as Foxstar stepped out o the water, his plume like tail wiggling. He was almost excited to see what his leader did, because to him she was almost like a god. She never seemed to slow down or show weakness, always leading without hesitation or fear.
"No need to worry, I've fought scarier than a wayward rogue." The she-cat assured, momentarily thinking back to the time a few moons ago where she and Glowstar had fought, and they'd both died. The SunClan Priestess via poisoned claws, and the DayClan leader a good slice across the neck. And the time before, when they first captured her friend, and Glowstar had used an herb to give herself a dangerous edge against the Janus and Priestess. Fought scarier indeed. Water dripped from her thick fur, the cold liquid and faintly cool air seeping rather uncomfortably into her bones, though a while in the Sun would certainly sort that out well enough.
Without hesitation, her ebony paws turned towards twolegplace, head inclining briefly in the apprentice's direction. "Care to join me? I have some business in the city, and you may as well come along. Have you been to the city before?" Her offer for him to join was less a request and more of a statement that she intended he come along. Not that Foxstar seemed upset about it. After all, the clan would see the result soon enough, and having the apprentice there would mean she could make him do any of the heavy lifting she needed, as it were.
