Lilackit rolled the moss ball back and forth between her front paws. The bright gingery and white she-cat was the spitting image of her mother, Windchaser and like her mother she was a little rule enforcer. Most kits found her bossy, but she wasn't a tattletaler, instead she tried to work out problems on her own unless she felt the kit was going to put themselves in danger. Lilackit longed to be able to play with the antler a warrior had found in the forest, however it was taken from the nursery after another kit played too rough with it. She let out a sigh, a moss ball just wasn't the same amount of fun. Maybe there was someone to play with instead of the moss ball.
As noises drifted into the nursery from the camp filling the milk scented den a small set of ears pricked in the shadows, raising her head eyes still glazed from sleep Antkit carefully looked around. She looked beside her where both of her brothers still lay curled asleep next to their mother and a small sigh escaped past her lips, as carefully as she could the reddish/brown she-kit stood and made her way out of the nest, relieved when no one stirred. Antkit looked at the exit and padded slowly out into the daylight, her pelt growing brighter as the suns rays hit it, with her head lowered she caught sight of Lilackit. Her den mate looked bored rolling the dirty moss ball between her paws, Antkit lifted a paw to take a step closer then paused; she knew her brother would yell if he found her trying to make friends.

Crowkit stirred uneasily in his nest, he felt as though something was missing, the young tom lifted his head and as his eyes began to focus he caught a glimpse of his sisters tail disappearing through the nursery entrance. I noticed her missing, does that mean he did as well. As the thought entered his head Crowkit looked to his side to see that Spiderkit had not stirred, it was safe to assume Antkit had gotten away unnoticed by him at least. The black kit stood and crept out after his sister in time to see her hesitate at the thought of joining their den-mate Lilackit who sat a few tail lengths away with a bored expression on her face and a moss ball between her paws. "Antkit, you should go and play." He whispered into her ear, he knew part of her wanted to but also knew her fear had stopped her from going any closer. "I'll come with you, don't worry I wont let anything happen." He licked his sisters head and began to make his way the last stretch until he was only pawsteps away from the ginger and white she-kit. "Hello Lilackit, is there something wrong with your ball?" He looked from her to the moss she had been batting back and forth.
Lilackit looked up, "Aw, it's nothing really. I'm just missing my antler chew, one of the warriors took it away when this kit got a little too crazy with it. Now I can't chew on it anymore and I really liked it."
She let out a bored yawn, licking her lips, "What are you two going to do today? Maybe I can play? I never really see you playing with the other kits, even though my siblings and you are almost the same age."
(Sorry for the short reply, I'll be more free tomorrow!)
Ankit jumped and let out a startled yelp as her brothers voice broke the silence around her, her ears flattened and she looked at him her blue eyes glittering. She opened her mouth to speak but before she could Crowkit started to pad away toward Lilackit, she pricked her ears to hear what they were saying. Antkit envied how easy it was for Crowkt to approach any cat and start a conversation, with great hesitation she followed after her brother and stopped behind him so she was just able to see the other she-kit beyond his black pelt. Antkit thought hard for what she could say, but like always the words never came and instead she managed only a short greeting. "H-hi Lilackit." Each of the two words came out short and slightly clipped and she hoped Lilackit didn't think she was trying to be rude.

Crowkit did not have to look back to know his sister had joined him, she stayed slightly behind him but as she stuttered out a greeting to Lilackit a small smile pulled at the corners of his mouth. The black tom had not felt happy nor disappointed when the antler had been brought and then taken from the nursery, though he knew some of the other kits had enjoyed it while it was there. "We really hadn't thought to do anything, but if you have some ideas we would love to hear them. Right Antkit?" He gave Antkit a flick on her shoulder with his tail, a light touch that simply grazed her fur. Crowkit looked back at Lilackit and smiled. "It is too nice of a day to just sit about and do nothing, don't you agree?" He sat down beside his calico den mate and curled his tail over his forepaws.
Spiderkit let out a long yawn as he lazily opened his eyes. As he slowly adjusted to his surroundings he noticed quickly that his littermates were gone, their nests left neatly. They must've slipped out, he thought, wondering why they didn't bother to wake him before going out to play. He let out a small grumble, lifting himself to his feet and shaking loose moss out of his jet-black coat. It bothered him a bit that his littermates could be so cold to him when he did so much for them. Shaking off the feeling, he padded out into the camp and glanced around. The sun was bright and hot on his pelt and already there were many cats outside milling around the camp. It didn't take him long to spot his siblings and he was quick to run over and give his sister a bop on the nose, "Morning Antkit, any reason you left without me?" He tried to sound as nice as he could, it was just a simple question after all.

All of her attention still on Lilackit and her own fast beating heart she was unaware of the quickly approaching black tom until it was too late, she felt the sudden sensation on her nose and although it didn't hurt it took her by surprise causing her to let out a small yelp. Antkit had not thought of what she would tell Spiderkit if he woke up and it was too late now that he was here in front of them. "H-hey Spiderkit, I-I thought you w-would be mad if I disturbed y-your sleep." She looked down at the ground not making eye contact with her brother, her stuttering becoming worse as fear pulsed through her. "I w-wanted you to g-get your r-rest." Her voice was quite but there was some truth to her words, she hadn't wanted to disturb him, though she wasn't being honest with herself saying it was for him.
Crowkit let out a low hiss as he watched Spiderkit, he could feel the fear and urgency radiating off of Antkit in waves afraid that if he touched her pelt it would sear through him. Crowkit was almost identical to his brother and from a distance most cats couldn't tell them apart, it was something that infuriated the tom, they were nothing alike yet he was cursed to a life of being mistaken for Spiderkit. "She came out to enjoy the sun before it got to hot, and it's not like she was alone with me here to watch her." He had to force himself to keep his voice level, his brother was the one cat who brought out the worst in him.
Spiderkit took a step back, leveling his eyes with his brothers'. He tried his hardest to keep a warm expression on his face, he wasn't in the mood to start a fight so early in the morning. "Don't worry about it, Antkit. I got an amazing rest and I'm so glad Crowkit was out here so you weren't left all alone." He let a smile come through, not wanting Lilackit to think anything was off. Spiderkit felt the fear radiating off of his sister and it annoyed him that she was so scared of him, all he ever did was look out for her and all she ever did was tremble when he went within a few feet of her. Pathetic, he thought, still keeping the radiant smile plastered across his face. "Any chance I can join in the fun out here?"
"Sure. We're looking for something fun to do," Lilackit spoke up.
She walked between them like she was walking across a thin line of stones before skirting past Crowkit and standing next to Spiderkit, "I'm Lilackit and we were just discussing how there used to be an antler to play with, but one of the warriors took it away. We're hoping to get it back, but I doubt it, he said it's dangerous. So now we need perhaps a game? All I have is this moss ball, but maybe we could play pretend and be a clan."
She held herself up a little higher, "Your Palefrost's litter right? I'm a part of Windchaser's."
It was absolute bragging to say that her mother was Windchaser, a part of the immortal council, but seeing how Crowkit looked at Spiderkit... Well she had a guess that this little tidbit of information she gave to Spiderkit might serve herself well.

Crowkit let his fur lay flat and smiled as he moved closer to Antkit in an attempt to comfort her as he always did. "We are Palerosts kits, your mother is in the immortal council then?" He knew who the queen was but he hadn't known her place in the clan, it was an important on respected by the clan. The black tom sat down and waited for Spiderkits response to the new information Lilackit had just given him.
The small she-cat felt her pelt brush Crowkits and nodded to Lilackit. "W-we can play pretend i-if you want." Her voice was still shaking but it was a task in itself to get the words out at all at this point. Antkit glanced up to look at the expression on Spiderkits face, her paws scuffling on the ground in front of her. "Who should be the l-leader?" She figured Spiderkit would want that spot, he always wanted to be in control.
Spiderkit glanced over at Lilackit as she came to sit beside him. As soon as she mentioned the ranking of her mother, his interest immediately peaked and his tail flicked against the ground, a glimmer flashing quickly in his eyes. "Yes, what is it like having such an important mother?" He grinned at the she-cat next to him. He was surprised that she had come over to him, he was usually met with bristling fur and uncomfortable glances; he wasn't the most comfortable cat to always be around. Turning back to his sister he considered the thought of what role he wanted, after all the idea of being the leader was appealing to him. "Hmm, you know I think Crowkit should be the leader today. Let's see his skills." He flicked his tail towards his brother.

Crowkit narrowed his pale eyes at his brother, he was a bit surprised Spiderkit would pass up the chance to boss them around but he decided not to question it. "Is that alright with you Lilackit, or would you like to be leader?" He wouldn't mind playing the role though honestly he could careless, he was there primarily for Antkit and to keep a watchful eye on his brother. The jet black tom turned a soft gaze to Lilackit as he waited for her opinion on the matter.
Antkit gave a small smile as Spiderkit offered Crowkit the lead position in their game, she was happy to see her brothers playing nice she was unaware of it being anything deeper than that if it was. By now the petite she-cat was sitting a little straighter and her gaze was no longer cast at the dirt but she was still unable to make full eye contact with Spiderkit.
"A leader does not dilly dally by inquiring with every cat around them if they can be leader, they lead," Lilackit said simply to Crowkit.
She had picked up on many conversations her mother had and although she still wasn't entirely sure what inquiring meant she guessed that if she didn't know the word that Crowkit didn't either and if she was wrong, wouldn't correct her. She gave a quick smile back to Spiderkit before straightening herself up once more, "You may choose a deputy though and then StarClan will choose a medicine cat. Which means we won't know until we get a sign."

Crowkit gave a curt nod to the she-cat and straightened himself so he stood taller. "Then you will be my deputy." He looked at Lilackit as he spoke. He felt she would be a good choice, the best choice out of the few options he was given. "Spiderkit and Antkit can be warriors." He looked from his sister to his brother, he was trying to get into the mindset of the game and to his surprise he was begining to enjoy the thought of being leader to this small group.
Antkit puffed her little chest out at the mention of being a warrior, she finally looked Spiderkit in the eyes and gave a small but uncertain smile. "We're warriors brother." She knew it wasn't real but she still felt a sense of pride and joy pulse through her at the thought.
Spiderkit tried his hardest to stifle his amusement as Lilackit spoke to Crowkit. He could sense that she might be someone to keep around if possible, maybe even a friend one day. She was a cat who thought like him, she wasn't naive and docile like the other kits. He had hoped that Crowkit would make him the deputy but he knew his brother, and Crowkit would never put him in any position of power, even if it was just a game. He flexed his claws into the dirt as he accepted his role, and nodded his head to his sister. "Were gonna be the best warriors ever Antpaw." He smiled at her, genuine for once, it was rare that he felt any spark of caring for her but she looked so happy that a part of him couldn't help but to let a small amount of kindness seep through. In a few moments the feeling had passed and Spiderkit was ready to show the other's how powerful he could be, even if it was just a game.

A wave of pleasure rippled through Crowkit, he knew his brother would want a position of power and it pleased him to no end being able to keep him from getting it. Crowkit knew his brothers need for control and he wasn't about to give him the chance to get it. "Our clan will be known as LeafClan, lets set up a hunting patrol." His voice was steady, confident in his role in this game and his eyes fell on the camps fresh-kill pile. He flicked his black tail in its direction and turned back to his 'clan'. "Spiderkit, Antkit, the two of you will be in charge of gathering prey while Lilackit and I decide on some borders." He was reeling through his mind trying to remember the things the clan did, having heard the apprentices talk often about their duties.
Antkit became less reserved when Spiderkit smiled back at her, softer than his normal frightening look. She would be the best warrior she could be and no one would stop her, she would prove herself to them. She let her gaze follow Crowkits to the fresh-kill pile but her mind froze when he told her and Spiderkit to go hunt, alone, together. Antkit tried to slow her heartbeat and looked back at Spiderkit trying to hid the fear that crept its way back into her at the thought of being alone with him, she took a deep calming breath before she spoke. "We should g-go hunt then, gotta follow o-orders." She moved closer to Spiderkit but no so close that their pelts brushed as she waited for him to agree.
"I will be Lilacaroma... Meadow... Mist... You're the leader you can give us our warrior names, Crowstar," Lilackit decided with a nod.
While waiting Lilackit picked up a twig and began to trace it around the perimeter trying to decide how much land to take. They couldn't take too much land or else who would their rival clans be? You had to have a rival clan so you could look better than them and then you couldn't take more land than you could guard either. There was a lot to consider for just a game of pretend. She leaned her head against the twig a bit in thought. LeafClan was a good name though. She liked leaves a lot, but camp only had three trees and the other warriors said that there weren't many wild trees in DayClan whatever that meant. Leaves seemed to be rare so it felt like an even richer name.
"Of course," Spiderkit smiled at his sister, "Let's go hunting, we have to get prey for our clan. After all, we're warriors." It took all his effort to hide the disdain in his voice, every bone in his body regretted giving up the position to his brother. He could only blame it on being tired from just waking up, but he would be sure to be more careful in the future. Even so, Spiderkit realized that now he would just have to make the best out of the situation, and if that meant playing along and making Crowkit feel special for once then he would do it. "First let's wait for our warrior names. I can't wait to see what Crowstar come up with." He smiled.

Crowkit looked at each of his denmates considering what names would fit them, this game had gone much deeper than he anticipated and his mind swirled. "As warriors you will be known as Lilaccloud, Spiderstrike, and Antfrost." He looked at the three of them happy with his choices. "If only we had some rivals." He had heard the word used by some of the warriors and apprentices when they were talking about cats who didn't belong to DayClan.
"Antfrost." She spoke the name in a hushed voice and smiled. "We know our names now, so lets hunt Spiderstrike." She looked up at her brother as she spoke his name, the excitement of being called Antfrost pushing away her anxiety from before.
