Funk wasn't sure why he bothered checking Winterclan. It was always cold, even in summer, he stuck out like a sore paw in the snow, and they were always frustrating to talk to. The higher altitude must affect their IQ, surely. But some things kept better in the cold, so Funkbeat continued on. He didn't make it far up, not that he ever cared to, before finding a surprising treasure. Chickweed. Here, in a small partition between two tree roots? Strange, but very nice to the old medicine cat as he brushed some fallen leaves off of it.
“I’m trying to puzzle out whether your brain’s encountered frostbite and that’s why you’re here, or if you’re just all around mouse-brained and thought it’d be a good idea to go for a hike.” Drawled the fluffy white tom with the bad attitude, grumpy face and galactic sapphire eyes. He stepped from the snow mound that he’d been camouflaged beside, smacking his lips in boredom. “If it’s any consolation, you won’t get a badge of honor for reaching the top, I can tell you that.”

"Like I would want a badge from you." Funk didn't look up, far more interested in the chickweed than this tom. His tone was matter of fact rather than hostile, "If you gave me one, I'd spit on it and leave it on Fallclan's territory since we're closer to there than to your frozen home." They must have nothing better to do. They can stare at a miracle like this and not even recognize it. He made no friends in Winterclan, and he knew this would be no different.
Ghoulmask shrugged, not bothered in the least by the tom’s words. They sounded forced to him anyway; like a little kid trying to come across as a big bad. The thought made him want to laugh, but he decided to be a good boy and play nice... for now.
“Oh, y’know, just wondering why you’re here instead of... anywhere else. It makes my job harder y’know.”

"Well, it was a cooler summer day. I was wandering through the Fallclan forest, minding my own business." What started as a simple story turned into Funkbeat rambling about any connecting event he could think of. Before he knew it, he was telling the warrior about an uprising in Fallclan he was caught in the middle of, a witch trial held by some rogues and moles erupting from the ground at an alarming rate. There was tragedy, romance, comedy. It was an amazing story, but we don't have time to write it all out. By the time he finished, he'd only taken a few leaves from the plant. Not that he wanted t disturb it much anymore.
The white tom smacked his lips. What had started as standing with a deadpan expression had turned into sitting with his tail wrapped around his paws stifling a yawn.
“I have to be honest, I’m confused.” He held up a paw to quell any more tangents. “What gave you the impression I cared?”

"What gave you the impression that gave you the impression that I care what you think?" Funk raised his non existent eyebrow, auburn fur now speckled with snow from the tree. Getting the slight sense he wasn't wanted, he grabbed the leaves and began walking down the mountain, "You got any good stories?"
