Out of all the territories Funk invaded, Absum Lux's never felt like a true invasion. The opposite, it always felt like they imposed on him. Him looking here was more about taking back what was once his. He normally held no grudges against the clans, but he was definitely sour towards them. All the more to try and get some herbs from them. Aspen Acre hadn't changed a bit since he and his siblings owned this city. And it was still the best spot to find good aspen trees. Always needing more bark from them, he slinked along a side path, trying to find one that met his standards.
A feline had been watching the tom as he walked through her territory. She had been careful to stay downwind. She was good at doing that, making sure that no one could see or hear her until she wanted them. Her whiskers twitched slightly, before she finally let her presence be known. "I wasn't expecting a visitor today," she hummed slightly, her head tilted. "Did Yumemi-kepa forget to tell me that I was to expect company? I would have gotten all dolled up if I would have known."
She glanced around the Aspen Acre, blinking twice. She would have rather met her company on a side street of the inner-city. That was her comfort zone. However, this would do. Trees were not something that she was unfamiliar with; after all, she had grown up in the impenetrable forest of Primal Instinct. She'd be able to fight him here just as well as anywhere else if she needed.

"You know, I looked everywhere for her." He stopped, glancing over his shoulder at her. She did well, Funk didn't know she was there. He expected no less.
"All along the buildings, the gardens I could find, even the channel." He spun in every direction, eyes widening as his voice rose and sank with his exaggerations.
"Clearly, I had no luck." He deflated, and faced her finally, "Though if you're this lovely normally, I fear I'll go blind seeing you dolled up." Throwing that last word in. He didn't know much about this cat. All Absum Lux cats were the same in his eyes. But he had to engage, to poke those stronger than him, just to satisfy his curiosity.
"Hmm, I'll have to talk to her about staying able to be found," the she-cat mused. Yumemi-kepa had become sort of a mix between personal assistant, adopted kid, and henchman lately, and although Shae was mostly joking about her, there was some truth to her sentiments. Her lips twitched slightly, or at least, the side that could twitch twitched slightly, before she tilted her head.
When he threw the last words in, amusement flashed into her eyes. So, he was a feline who could keep up with her, was he? He had not been the first cat as of recently who was an interesting sort to come into Absum Lux territory, and, what could Shae say, she was a sucker for a cat who could catch her attention.
"Well, I'm flattered," she meowed, flashing her signature half-smile. She let out a purr, before blinking her faint blue eyes. "Dare I ask what brings you here?"

"Please do. I hate to meet you like this unannounced." Whoever Yumemi-kepa was, she seems to be on a short leash. Shame. But she could be a somewhat important cat, which potentially put this she-cat higher on the tier list. Even if he wanted to remember all the group cats, there were simply too many of them for him to. Oh well, he had a feeling he would know soon enough.
The last line didn't get him a gash in his throat. Which was good, he was glad he didn't have to breathe in his own blood again. But that meant she was up for conversation, which was fantastic. Conversations with clan cats weren't that rare, but in one of these offshoot groups they were. And these were much more fascinating with their unorthodox structure and culture.
"My pleasure." He smiled, looking away a bit. Sure, he was could say he was here for herbs, or food, or shelter or to join or whatever, but that wouldn't fly. So he had to go with something that would, "and I guess you could say I'm here to reminisce."
Shae provided the tom her classic half-smirk. She was convinced that he wasn't quite sure who she was, which was amusing to her. She would have to start doing better, start making her name more known outside of the clan. Of course, such empire building took time, nad one could not build an inter-clan empire without fist making sure her own house was in order.
Interest piqued in her gaze when she said he was there to reminisce. "What is there to reminisce about in my group?" she asked. Her voice was first and foremost curious, but there was a level of possession that hinted at the edge of her words. Perhaps this was a subtle way to let him know that she was the Heda, she was the one in control of this land. Perhaps it was just how she always spoke of Absum Lux, her own little treasure, piece of the universe. The only part of the world that was truly hers.
"Nothing to special about the little old Coalition, hmm?"

His ears flicked. My group, huh? Ah, so she must be the leader. What they call the Heda. Hmm. Interesting. They always seemed to come out of the woodwork whenever Funk came around. He wondered why. Perhaps they were trying to win him over? Clearly that was it. He was in a similar boat. For someone that should be well known, no one really jumped or shiver at the sound of his name. Unknowingly, they both had work to do.
"To most, yeah. To those who used to wander these streets, there's still a little magic in these paths." He rarely reminisced about his time with his siblings. The six of them, raising hell wherever they went. Each a demon, in their own way. Well, 'cept for Reprise. She was the angel, the oil in water, the white in black. He hadn't seen them in so long he only had memories to hold onto, and a part of him wondered how they were.
Perhaps it was a surprise to many that Shae would be the one who was in charge of the group. After all, she was small in stature and wouldn't stand out from a crowd, at least not a first glance. Looking closer at her, the scars that covered her body would become more apparent. Only upon looking at where the flames had once licked her body did the she-cat appear at all special. Her very pale blue eyes opened and closed slowly, as if she was pondering his words.
"Oh, yeah?" she then asked, her head tilted slightly. "And what sort of magic would that be?" Shae's mind momentarily drifted to Yumemi and Pluto, the two that were trying to master the art of harnessing the magics of the patrons. Was this what he was talking about? Or was the tom considering the magic of memories? She blinked again, something she did often when she was in thought. To those who used to wander these streets, so this tom was from the Coalition? Which meant that he had abandoned it at some point. What an interesting factoid.

Funk wasn't quite like that. He was a tall tom, with an average build. His short fur couldn't hide any scars, not that he had any. He was a lover, not a fighter. More into words and sabotage than fighting with his claws, only scars he carried were on his mind. But they were shallow, they only cut tissue and not veins. He healed and moved on, almost unaware they were there in the first place. He walked along the path, not making any attempt to escape. Just tired of standing in one place. Whatever the coalition was, bananice couldn't remember, but he definitely wasn't a part of it. Just a kittypet turned loner. Nothing more, nothing less.
"Who knows? Something, I think. I'm just trying to shoot the breeze." Funk wasn't one for magic, he believed solely in cold hard science and himself, "What do they call you 'round here?"
