Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This wasn't a typical patrol, mainly because their deputy Larkwing hadn't assigned them to patrol, but as usual Ericanorth was itching to check the borders. Rumors and gossip circulated on the kind of cat she was. Some said she was too prideful of NightClan and had spilled unnecessary blood not just of rogues, but of young outside apprentices who made the accident of crossing onto their border. Others described her as a noble cat who was powerful and was being portrayed in a negative light for her keen abilities in combat. At least, there was a time Ericanorth had that doubt going for her, recently the deputy and medicine cat brought back an apprentice aged rogue into camp that she had savagely attempted to murder. Not that she got too much guff for it since he was invading, but still she had been getting plenty of dirty looks lately in camp and needed to get some fresh air and maybe prove that she didn't attack weak rogues, but also powerful cats... If fate would have it maybe she'd find a dangerous rogue at the border she could fight off and prove she wasn't cruel like everyone thought she was.
"Fine." Amberlake replied dryly, licking the last of the mouse off her lips, she slowly walked her way over to Ericanorth. She'd never had much interaction with Ericanorth but she had to admit she kind of admired her bold personality and the fact that she wasn't afraid to fight, even if that meant attacking the rogue that was brought into camp recently. Amberlake though, was a professional at hiding any facial expressions or emotions so she'd never let anybody know that. She did secretly wonder, however, if Ericanorth was going to try and murder her out on this patrol, since they were going alone. That would be the fight of the century, most didn't know but Amberlake was also very skilled in combat, however, her arguable personality and stubbornness often overshadowed any positive quality she possessed. "Where are we going again?" Amberlake asked, slowly walking past Ericanorth and heading out of the NightClan camp.
"I don't know," Ericanorth muttered, a shadowy grin ran along her jawline, "How about north?" She smirked widely, "Just seems ironic if we didn't right?"
Ericanorth turned her head one last time as though expecting someone else to tag along, "Eh, it's fine, let's get going," She shrugged and already began walking. She had invited one other cat, but figured if they wanted to join they'd track her scent. While she walked it was apparently clear the Ericanorth was attempting to stay in the shadows, but it was no surprise. Her snow white fur and pink eyes made it clear she wasn't just white furred, but albino. The sunlight would only damage her skin and her white fur only made her more noticeable. Luckily she was born in the darkest clan around... Aside from Renegade Regime so there wasn't much to worry about there.
"Hey what's your take on outsiders?" Ericanorth asked Amberlake wondering if she was one of those pansies that believed they should be more gentle or accepting. Although she liked a good political debate, she didn't feel like starting one today and decided if it made Amber uncomfortable she'd choose a different topic.
Amberlake cast a sideways glance at Ericanorth. Truthfully, Amberlake hadn't put much thought into the outsiders. She simply went about her day and ignored them and so she needed a minute to think of what she was going to say. "I don't really know, honestly." Amberlake finally said. "I think they need to earn their keep if they're going to stick around otherwise I think they need to leave and if they want to stay they should have to prove it. Become an apprentice and train just like we all had to. Not every cat is cut out to be a Clan cat, and that includes cats that are even born within the Clan and have Clan blood running through them. Clan life just isn't for everyone and I can only imagine it's even harder coming into Clan life as a rogue not knowing the customs of a Clan since birth." she stated thoughtfully.

Scampering after the pair was a white fluffball of a she-cat. Cannalily bounded up to them.
"W-Wait wait wait! I'm here! Sorry!" She skidded to a stop before passing Ericanorth and Amberlake. She then turned to them, panting. "Cannalily reporting for patrol duty!" Her tail flicked as she puffed out her chest, clearly out of breath. Cannalily had pretty bad health, but had been doing well enough recently to go on patrols and hunt. Things had been going her way for the past two moons.
Amberlake glanced in surprise as Cannalily passed her and Ericanorth. "Hello, Cannalily, glad you could join us!" Amberlake greeted the newest member of their patrol cheerfully. She was attempting to make an effort to be nicer to those around her, especially her Clanmates. It had been a life long struggle so far - being nice to other's that is.
"Glad to be here!" Cannalily purred. "I was with Larkwing right before now, sorry! I lost track of time." She and Larkwing had become mates recently, which was a nice highlight of how well Cannalily was doing and how far she'd come in recent time.
Truthfully she had no idea how a nice cat like Cannalily could wind up with Larkwing who was always too sensitive and righteous. The guy constantly rubbed her the wrong way which sucked because she already didn't like Burningstar and the fact that she'd have another leader she didn't like once Burningstar was gone infuriated her to no end. She wasn't the only one either and while usually she loved to gossip about the leader and deputy behind their back she wasn't that much of a jerk to do that in front of Cannalily.
"Let's get this show on the road, I don't even remember where we were initially headed, but I guess we can check out SunClan's border, I haven't checked there in a while," Ericanorth figured, "Do you have a mate too, Amberlake?"
"Ha!" Amberlake laughed at Ericanorth's question. She hadn't intended to laugh but that was just her immediate response. "Me? The one whose always mean and grumpy? I don't think you've noticed but most of the Clan just tends to avoid me altogether, so, no." she answered, her tone was light and amused and to be completely honest a mate was one thing that Amberlake had never even thought about, considering most just avoided her, it seemed like it was something unattainable but she was content in her own company and didn't care if she spent the rest of her life alone, per say.

Cannalily chimed in, "You don't seem that mean or grumpy to me!" She was one of those cats that "saw the best in others" and "loved making new friends." Her attitude was either infectious or annoying, depending on who you were, usually leaning towards annoying.
"Heh, honestly unless I meet a guy who actually has some common sense about this clan I don't know if I'll ever find anyone. Though, I recognize I'm not easy to please, I haven't been exactly impressed with the leadership lately in NightClan compared to others, but it's only cause I care about NightClan and always believe we can do better than where we're at," Ericanorth explained.
Her white tail swayed to the side inviting the others to follow her as she made her way closer to the border, "I just feel we could have taken over MoonClan completely if we really wanted to, but Burningstar didn't. I mean that clan isn't like our allies Day and Sun, they keep going through new leaders constantly and hardly have any warriors. I don't even know how much longer they can call themselves a clan before they're just a band of rogues."
Amberlake cast a sideways glance at Ericanorth she was hardly surprised that she was so outspoken with her opinions but NightClan completely taking over MoonClan wasn't something that Amberlake had really put much thought into, she did her best to bite her tongue, stay out of trouble, and just 'go with the flow'. "I've never disliked Burningstar, as a matter of fact I think she's a decent leader. But I do agree, we could have taken over MoonClan. But on the same token what would we have gained other than more territory to patrol daily? I doubt that any of their warriors would willingly drop alliance to MoonClan and suddenly become loyal NightClan warriors."
"I didn't even think of the cats in it. I just figured we'd take over MoonClan's land, offer it to SunClan and DayClan with some sort of price for it and we'd all become bigger and stronger for it. I guess it would have been up to MoonClan cats to decide where they wanted to go, we'd probably give them a week to get their affairs in order, we're not monsters after all," Ericanorth said with a shrug of her shoulders as she considered this alternate universe.
When they got to the border Ericanorth began marking their scent against the trees by their border, but spotted out a SunClan cat in the distance who seemed to notice the patrol and padded over.
Autumngossamer was a janus in SunClan and curiously walked over to them, "Good day to you all," She purred, but looked a little on edge, "Super random question, is NightClan missing any kits? We found this little orange kit that a hawk was trying to eat. She's not ours and we think that she was probably taken from a clans camp."
"I guess we'll never know." Amberlake responded to Ericanorth with a shrug. "Although I'm not sure I fully trust our allies." she added. "Alliances can change and we can quickly find ourselves on the bad side of SunClan and DayClan. I'd rather not doing anything to make them stronger. If we do anything it should be to benefit NightClan and NightClan alone." she stated. She was slightly startled by Autumngossamer's appearance and she hoped that the SunClan cat didn't hear what she had just said, not that she cared but she'd hate to be the one who single handedly ruined an alliance for her leader and her Clan no matter what her thoughts were on the topic. "I don't believe we are...." She answered slowly, casting a questioning gaze at Ericanorth, maybe her Clanmate had heard something? Amberlake figured if NightClan was missing a kit then the queens would be frantic and the entire forest would know within seconds.
"Uh," Ericanorth fumbled, trying to think about the kits they had, if any even matched that description, "Well there is Littlekit, she's entirely ginger and we got a few others with ginger markings, maybe we should go check if its one of ours? And hey, if it's not then we can just pry the kit from the lost and found and have another future warrior in NightClan," Ericanorth shrugged.
"You shadewalkers, obviously if it's not your kit, SunClan will keep her," Autumngossamer scoffed.
Autumngossamer laughed, "If the kits DayClan, SunClan doesn't care, we've taken kits from them before. They can hardly fight back against a force like us, but NightClan, you're different, you have my respect and wary fear."
Ericanorth's pink gaze looked to Amberlake. She was already suspicious of Autumngossamer.

Cannalily chimed in, "If the kit belongs to someone else, it should be returned to them. Can you imagine how sad the mother must be?" The bleeding heart Cannalily's ears could not believe what she was hearing. Who cared what kit the Clan belonged to, it should be returned regardless, not to become some pawn in the political schemes of the Clans.
"Do either of you know of any missing kits?" Amberlake prompted her Clanmates. She herself didn't know if NightClan was missing any but she assumed not, because if they were the entire Clan would know. But she wouldn't turn down an extra cat for the Clan either. "And why would SunClan want DayClan kits? Not enough being born into SunClan?" Amberlake asked Autumngossamer, fixing her with a pale green gaze, her tone was slightly sarcastic, hoping to draw a reaction from the SunClan warrior.
"We take in anyone so long as they pass initiation, kits are the only ones who don't need to prove themselves right away upon joining. So uh, yeah, it doesn't matter if they're born and we have stolen and still possesses kits from DayClan that we unfairly took. I was a stolen DayClan apprentice myself," Autumngossamer said honestly with a paw over her chest before her brown gaze flickered between the three warriors, "Well whatever then, if it's not yours and ends up being yours later no take backs," She said casually as the orange tabby turned around.
Ericanorth winced at that statement and... Well SunClan and NightClan were allies, but SunClan wasn't exactly kind. She didn't like Burningstar, but the fact that Foxstar took one of Burningstar's lives just showed how SunClan didn't respect their allies particularly much. If they really did have a NightClan kit, it wouldn't surprise her if they kept it, plus how hard would NightClan fight to get one kit back? It was hard to say.
"Maybe we should go and check?" Ericanorth asked, but wasn't entirely sure. It would be effort and honestly, she just wanted to sink her claws into enemy cats flesh, not go check up on a kit that may or may not be there's.
