( Internal Affairs District - The Roof )
The Proxy walked on the edge between life and death, treading along the thing ledge of the roof as the rain poured, soaking her fur and running in rivulets off into the dark abyss below. Lightning crackled, highlighting her frame in split seconds as she walked alone. Not many cats would be out in this weather, and the Internal Affairs cats would almost certainly be content to keep to themselves and their nests, or to the sprawling hallways and secret passages of the rest of the Estate. Though the roof was the most popular place to talk, away from the rest of the group and boasting a beautiful view of the territory, today it was all but deserted.
It wasn't like the other districts could come here. Senescence's District was distant at best, downright exclusionary at worst. They didn't tell the other districts what when on in their lives, their secrets were theirs to keep, as was their wing. Outsiders, save for the Warden and Nemesis, always had an escort from within the district, and what they were shown was limited to what was purely necessary. As such, few, if any cats, had gotten to see the roof since the Proxy had claimed the fourth floor for her wing. It was difficult to end up here now, unless one of the other districts discovered a new way up on their own, and Senescence was careful to keep such things to a minimum. Entrances that led to the attic were blocked off so they couldn't access the roof again, and soon, it would truly belong to them, and them alone.
For now, she wondered who would interrupt her dance with death. Would it be the aforementioned Quartz or Marchosais? One of her own district, perhaps accompanied by someone who desired to see her? Or maybe someone had managed to find a new path she'd have to block them from being accessible. Who knew? All she knew was that inevitably, someone would come to disturb her.
