Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The rumors that had spread about Shae and her relationship with Primal Instinct had finally reached her ears. Apparently, she had left a masterpiece at Marchosais's paws. What could only be described as a mangled and unrecognizable mess. The darkness of the night kept her hidden among the shadows of Primal Instinct territory. It had been a disaster slipping through the estate without being noticed, especially since the Internal Affairs district lived on the fourth floor. She had to sneak around most, if not every, slumbering hunter and trainee.
This better be worth it.
She couldn't help but allow the thought to cross her mind. She was taking a major risk by doing what she was doing. After all, the proxy in charge of her district was one of the cats that her mother told stories about. Apparently, Senescence had been one of the few cats Roxanne felt was honestly and truly loyal. She had been one of Roxanne's proxies for a long time. One of the ones who kept her safe during the many threats of assassination towards her, alongside Shame and Tempo. It still surprised Lilith that the she-cat was still kicking all these moons later, and also worried her that Senescence would pick up on her true origins if she wasn't careful enough. After all, she was a younger, spitting image of her mother. Lilith almost felt bad about potentially betraying her, but the cats who had been good to her mother were far and in between. Perhaps she'd spare Senescence when the reckoning came. She suddenly realized she was now a good halfway into Absum Lux territory.
That was fast.
She would have to be careful not to be caught, at least not until she found who she was looking for. Apparently, Shae hated Marchosais. She didn't entirely understand why. So far, Marchosais had been a pretty laid back nemesis, if not a bit lazy. In fact, she had hardly seen him around since he introduced her to the league and made her an official member. She couldn't help but pity him for that decision. After all, Lilith had no plans to remain loyal to the league. No. She wanted to see it go up in flames, with her the one causing the ignition. She would tear them down from the inside out, root out the disloyal, and paint her new throne with their blood. Then she would use them to hunt down every cat who had betrayed her mother. Being apart of the Internal Affairs helped her immensely with this plan and provided step two of her plan. Green, or rather Glowstar now, would be next. Her mother's "best friend". She would watch every life leave her body in a blaze of bloody victory. She would make her watch everyone she loved perish, just like she had to do with her mother.
She was getting sidetracked. She realized this when she found herself right outside the camp entrance. Any rational Primal Instinct cat would be terrified standing right outside an enemy camp, but Lilith had nothing to fear anymore. She had already gone through everything that would strike fear into her.
Shae's story was a little bit different. She wasn't trying to do avenge her parents. She had no attatchment with them. Any attachment she had once had to them went up when their bodies went up into flames all those moons ago. She wanted Primal Instinct to meet its destruction for a two fold reason. The first was simply because she wanted the group to know that she had won. She wanted everyone who had doubted her when she was younger and in the League to know that they would go on to fail, but she would nnot. She would rub this in their face. Pride was a sin that she fell too far a victim to. The second reason she fully intended to kill the entire group with her paws if given the chance was because they took something from her. It wasn't her parent, but it was a chance to a normal life. Afte rall, it was Vera who had made her lose it all.
She didn't particcularly hate Marchosais in particular. She hated the group. Unfortunatley for the Siamese tom, he had decided to take control of it just before she finally took control of Absum Lux. It had taken her time to gain such leadership, but now that she did, she wanted whoever was in power to suffer, she wanted the entire group to collapse.
"This is awfully far from Primal Instinct's camp for you, pretty kitty," the cat meowed as she walked out of the camp. Her eyes flashed. "I don't take well to visitors, especially when they smell like you."
“Good thing I’m not a Primal Instinct cat.” She said simply. Sure, she smelled of Primal Instinct, but she didn’t view herself as one. No. She would never be one of those filthy scums inside. She could tell this was the cat she was looking for. She screamed authority and power. An aura that could really only be generated by someone destined to lead. “Are you Shae?”
"Bold of you to make such a claim, as if I don't have a nose or eyes," she meowed, amusement in her gaze. The moments where she didn't look amused were few and far between. "And you look like Roxanne, which means that not only are you probably Primal Instinct, but you're either on the inside or on the very outside and very angry about it." Her tail twitched slightly as she let out a breath. Neither of those things seemed like things Shae wanted to deal with. If she was the former, she was probably here as a microaggression sent by March-whatever-his-name-was. If that was the case, Shae should cut her losses and just slice the other's throat. If she was the latter, that was more interesting, a cat who wasn't loyal, but it meant more paperwork. More planning. And, honestly, Shae just wanted to take a nap.
"That's the name my mama gave me, yes. Who, pray tell, are you?"
She blinked in surprise and took a startled step backwards. She had been caught. Not that surprising considering she looked just like her mother, but what was surprising was that it was by a cat her mother had never mentioned.
The brief flabbergasted look on her face flickered away as she straightened her body to look a bit more professional in the presence of the Absum Lux leader. “My name is Lilith. You are correct. I’m the daughter of former nemesis, Roxanne E’tani. I would like to offer my services to you.” Her voice was monotone, but her heart beat rapidly against her chest. This had been the first time she had admitted to being Roxanne’s daughter out loud since her death.
Shae had been young when Roxanne ruled. Was it under Roxanne that she had come to Primal Instinct? Or was it just before? Shae couldn't remember; those memories had been long stored deep within the feline. She just knew that Roxanne had been one of the rulers that existed in the unfortunate time in which she was in Primal Instinct.
Shae quickly disregarded those thoughts when the she-cat spoke. I woould like to offer my services to you. A smile twitched at the corner of her lips; how fascinating. A Primal Instinct cat had come and sought out Shae, the Heda of Absum Lux, to offer her services, assumingly in vanquishing the former. She let out a purr of delight. She had always been fond of such interesting turns of events. "Is that so?" she meowed. She followed the statement with another purr.
"Perhaps we should go somewhere private to discuss, no?"
"Of course." She said with a dip of her head towards Shae. She needed to be respectful towards the Absum Lux leader if she expected to team up with the the heda. Her heart was beating faster now as the she-cat lead her deeper into Absum Lux territory. Was this the right thing? She glanced from side to side attempting to gain her bearings in the darkness of the night. She had no clue where they were anymore, or where they were going. The only light they had were the moon and stars overhead, and that wasn't nearly enough for Lilith to plan a proper escape plan.
They moved through the city for a moment in silence, before reaching the junk yard that sat at the very edge. Other cats tended not to enjoy this particular place. Shae supposed she couldn't blame them, but she was always drawn to it. It was as if her very soul found a connection to the place. Perhaps this was because the she-cat was a CrowClan cat by blood; the junk yard, maybe even this junkyard, had been the stomping grounds of her forefathers. They had passed the afinity thorugh their blood.
Shae made one quick scan of the area to make sure that no one was around. She then leapt onto a pile of tires and looked down at the she-cat. "I have two questions for you before we really talk too deeply about anything. The first is, what services do you think you can offer me? The second is, why have you sought me out of all cats out to work with?"
"Well... I'm a member of the internal affairs district in Primal Instinct. In other words, we know what goes on within Primal Instinct itself. We know the territory inside and out. We know who would easily be swayed and who wouldn't. We know who are traitors and we know who are loyal. I can warn you of incoming danger, or tell you when the right time to strike is." Lilith explained. That's the best she had to offer. She wasn't a proxy, at least not yet, so it wasn't like she could promise an entire district behind her. She chewed on the inside of her cheek, wondering if this was enough to sway the heda.
The territory part was an interesting flex. Had the League taken over more territory since Shae had been a member? She knew there was the stint with the BrookClan something or another, so she suppposed that the territory could be different from what she remembered. However, the rest of the information was quite interesting. It could be helpful, to know particularly the ideas of who would be willing to be swayed. And to have a cat who could signal to Shae an incoming attack? That could be even more useful yet. Her whiskers twitched slightly. Hmm. She gave the cat one quick nod, a purr radiating through her chest. Who would have known taking down the League would prove to be such a juvinile task that their own members would seek her out to aid in its destruction?
"You didn't answer my second question, lamb cakes. What is your motive behind your offer? What are you looking for in return?"
