Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She believed herself to be a fair and just mother. Siren cared that her children succeeded and were worth something to the clan. Her first litter had been full of failures. This new one she’d promised herself wouldn’t be the same way when she’d first found out she was pregnant with them. But now, Polyphemus had managed to surprise her. He’d raised through the ranks from the runt of her litter. To think he of all her kits would become the most worthy of cats in the clan.
Resting outside the nursery where her newest kits played, she watched for her older son. Curious as to how he’d had raised so quickly through the ranks. Was it bribery? Treats? Either would be fine with her. Whatever it took to get higher in the clan in her eyes.
He had spent his whole life proving his worth. He was born for failure, was meant to die a failure, was never even meant to survive in general. His entire lack of a left eye was enough proof for that.
And yet, he was the youngest Luminary. Shae had chosen him for.... some reason or another. Was it really for his excellence in tracking? Was it for his strength and ambition? What was it? He shook his head and paced slowly around the abandoned twoleg place in thought. Somehow, without even realizing it, he came too close to his number one critic and worst enemy: his mother. Polyphemus held his breath and tried not to look her in the eye, heart slightly pacing as he tried his best to escape her vision.
“So nice to see you again, Polyphemus.” He’d basically disappeared off her radar once he’d left the nursery. Siren rose to a sitting position. “Why don’t you come sit with me for a while. Check up if you will.” Her gaze was more of a glare, daring him to tell her no. Tail twitching in impatience besides her, she brought one paw up to her face for cleaning.
