Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Glowstar's head emerged out from the surface of Endless Falls. She had taken a dip from the weather being far from ordinary. The wind was hot as a lions breath and any stones were, dare she admit, too hot to enjoy sunbathing on. Luckily DayClan's camp had three small waterfalls where nearly every DayClan cat was residing. Ever since leafbare ended there was a peace unlike any other DayClan had ever had before. SunClan and NightClan were their allies, it made for one less border to patrol. MoonClan seemed to have forgiven DayClan for taking some of their prey during the harsh blizzards and thus far rogues weren't a pestering problem.
Glowstar lied on her back in the water, perfectly balanced, she had after all spent a few moons in WaterClan for... Perhaps more vicious reasons than most would be delighted to hear. From it came the ability to swim and dive and with the considerate amount of bliss in DayClan she saw no reason why not to travel to Endless Falls to soak in some free time.
Her auburn ear twitched at the sound of someone approaching, but her head hardly moved to check, "Enjoying the heat wave?" Her voice soft like a lullaby melody, but rose clear in the humid air.
"As much as you are it would seem!" came the soft call from the waters edge. Astridflare sat with her forepaws dipped in the cooling spring. Its eager lapping at her small paws causing a purr to rise in her parched throat. "I sure wish I knew how to swim though! You look much more cooled than I am." she was only so comfortable with water. Her paws being dipped for the occasional wash or puddle in her path was just enough. She didn't even care much for rain on her pale ginger pelt.
Astridflare blinked her water blue eyes at the floating leader. "How do you even manage that without sinking?" she wondered allowed.
"You have to accept deaths embrace for it to hold you," Glowstar said casually, her emerald gaze following a colony of clouds rapidly passing the sky, "Or you have the confidence of knowing how to swim and that if you weren't able to float you could simply swim back to shore," a smile played at her lips as she turned over paddling back to shore where she lied down a squirrel length from Astridflare's paws.
Usually Glowstar's fur couldn't help but shine like star fire, but in her furs glossy soaked state her pelt was the color of autumn and dark cinnamon shades. Her chin lied just barely out of the waters reach, "How have you been Astridflare? I've personally been reflecting on our security lately with the Bright Brigade and focusing my attention on a few apprentices who are showing extraordinary strength."
She chuckled a bit at the irony of her joke. A cat who not only could escape the claws of death but could swim too! Astrid braced herself for the spray of water off of Glawstar's pelt that never came. Settling back into her own warming fur she blinked at the proposed commentary to follow. "I haven't had much to worry myself with this peace. Two powerful allies so close they all but barricade our piece of paradise from unwanted attention. Though I suppose I remain wary of them. Wouldn't be the first time in history and aly posed a threat." she blinked at Glowstar as she lay beside her the water on her pelt seeming to dissipate into the thirsty atmosphere. "Are you considering a ceremony?"
"SunClan sure, they've betrayed us many a time, NightClan," She paused briefly tipping her head to the side in thought, "Never."
"Although some of NightClan cats go against Burningstar and start trouble to MoonClan cats, so I suppose we have to watch out for them. But y'know, we just report it to Burningstar and she takes care of it."
She stared up in thought, "I don't know, they should be promoted, but I was promoted fast from ca- apprentice. They should be able to enjoy the lack of responsibility and the time with their mentors. Enjoy the experience of it all that they'll never get back again. I don't know what do you think? I was thinking about Foxpaw and Brakepaw."
She nodded in understanding as she watched the white mist of the falls breaking on the pool's surface. "Yes Burningstar has proven to be a quite worthy leader to her cats and a good friend to those she calls friend." She could honestly say the kind leader of NightClan had received a sense of respect from Astridflare. "I have been impressed with Foxpaw indeed. Though if I am honest I simply have not been in the right place at the right time to observe Brakepaw." she meowed enjoying the easy conversation with Glowstar.
"Brakepaw in the most poetic words is a lost lamb. He has great power, but he's easy to manipulate. In that way, he's not mature enough to be a warrior, he has the skills, but he hasn't grown up enough to become his own person. I've watched him, ever since his litter mate Vixenpaw became medicine cat apprentice I've noticed how hard he tries. You know, sibling rivalry and all that, I was the same way growing up," She purred.
She rolled onto her back floating in the gentle waves. Few leaders ever seemed to roll onto their back, but it was the position many DayClan cats found her in. It was even stranger given that unlike every other leader, every cat in every clan knew exactly how many lives Glowstar had and it was one. Yet she ruled her life as though she were immortal and maybe she was, death hadn't kept her soul yet.
"So, random question, but what do you worry about most Astridflare?"
