Foxstar being gone was a strain on SunClan. Slaughterfish could see it. She could see their anger and their hurt, despite the fact their Priestess had been the one to cause this entire mess. She could see it too, and though she loved her mother, she was perhaps less vengeful than the rest, understanding that this was her doing, and that the Regime likely wouldn't treat her too terribly. After all, they would likely want her for bargaining, if nothing else. Even if that thought made her want to rush to the Regime and kill whoever stood in the way of her getting to her mother.

    It was an odd feeling, to know this was inevitable, even the best outcome they could have had, given the circumstances, but still feel the desire to do everything to help. Such was life when you cared about your family, she supposed. Briefly, she even wondered if Dragonguard had heard the news. After all, cats were quick to talk about Foxstar's first real failure as leader. Her father must know, unless he was so oblivious to the world now that he was a kittypet.
