Lastaffair was secretly enjoying her freedom from her mother. It gave her the chance to act without ever needing to worry. Sure, there was Littlebird, but that wasn't the point. She acted out more as a rebellion to her mother for never paying her enough mind, though much of that had now seamlessly been integrated into her core personality. Turns out that chaos was fun. Even more so when you didn't have a parent watching over your shoulder each and every moment of the day.
No, Foxstar never literally hovered over her, but the implication was there with her being Priestess and all. Don't cause problems, blah, blah, blah.
But for now, she didn't have to worry about a lecture, or a look that promised death if she humiliated the fox-hearted leader. She felt unburdened, at least slightly so.
